RAZER Black Wired BlackWidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons:Whiteness of characters painted on keys fades fast

Pros:Simple, well built, solid keys, appearance (key font & LED logo)
Comment:
I think this is a great keyboard. The pros and cons above sum up my thoughts. I'm not sure if it is a universal problem, but on mine, my A,S,and L characters printed on the keys came lighter than the other characters on the rest of the keyboard. Personally much prefer the Stealth addition but that's just a preference.

Comment:
The keyboard acts specifically as described. Going from a normal keyboard to a mechanical keyboard feels actually excellent. The macro selections are wonderful, the gaming mode is straightforward to activate and the media keys can all be accessed with a unique function key. The macro keys have been throwing me off. When I want to hit ŗ", I'll hit Ŗ" rather, simply because the length of the keyboard is extended. Also, I use left ctrl for crouch in games. I tend to hold the key down with the initially knuckle of my pinky finger, which means I run into the macro keys. To repair this, I pulled the M4 and M5 keys out of the keyboard (which was no hassle at all) so I wouldn't have to re-find out to crouch in games. I can tell in the short time I've had this keyboard that following some acquiring used to, it'll be the ideal keyboard I've ever owned. Truly pleased with the acquire.

This is one particular of the greatest keyboards I've employed in a extended time. Obtaining utilised a wide variety of keyboards I can very easily tell you there is nothing like feel of a mechanical switch. I've applied brief-throw scissor switches, high and low good quality membranes, and buckling-spring. Absolutely nothing comes close to this kind of keyboard.~For the price tag, it genuinely can't be beat by any other mechanical keyboard brand, all of which expense far far more than this 1.~The shorter activation difference is actually nice in FPS games, though it remains to be noticed if this is affects typing efficiency. So far it hasn't.~The gaming mode is nice, as you can disable the windows key temporarily.~It's weighs a lot. This thing will not move devoid of a lot force. ~The typeface on the keys isn't entirely readable.~The lighting mode is actually useless on this variant, only supplying power to the glowing Razer logo.~Glossy surface shows everything.~For a whilst the row of macro keys on the left will throw you off and you'll want to spot your hands one particular key to left. Finding house row is admittedly easy though, as the F and J keys are marked with longer tactile bars rather of little beads employed on a lot keyboards.~The function button replaces the correct Windows essential. This is a bit of an odd place as you will be employing two hands to activate any of the media keys. It's also proper subsequent to the macro recording key, pressing both simultaneously will enter the keyboard in macro recording mode. This can be performed inadvertently.~Last but not least, this point is loud and will tick off roommates, co-workers, loved ones or anybody else in earshot. Keep it mind. In spite of some design flaws, this keyboard is excellent. The value is absolutely nothing to sneeze at when you compare it to others in the mechanical keyboard class. At this value point although, do your research and appear at other brands. I did and came to the conclusion that I'd rather invest much less and get more.

Cons:Typing noise on the loud side.

Pros:Solid keyboard. Can feel the difference in weight.

Keys can fade compared to the Ultimate edition. Extra gaming mode allows the windows key to be disabled and does not require drivers for this functionality.

Used to have a Northgate keyboard, which lasted me more than a decade. Even at that, it was still fully functional when I donated it. This seems to be an updated version. I like the key resistance.

Really low-cost choice if you're looking for a mechanical keyboard with blue switches and good build high quality. Sounds nice to variety on.Feels wonderful to type on compared to typical rubber dome keyboards.Develop top quality seems very great so far. Loud. Not necessarily negative, but a thing to think about before purchase. I wanted a good mechanical keyboard for myself, but did not want to invest as well substantially cash. This keyboard fell well into my price tag range and had every little thing I was seeking for. I have no complaints about it immediately after about 1.five months of ownership. Would recommend to any individual.

crisp key response, weight, solid general construction, visual appeal macro keys? Aside from the macro keys getting a bit close to the left side of the board, I certainly really like it. Kept hitting the macro key rather of the left ctrl so i just bound the macro key to be yet another left ctrl important. I like this keyboard essentially, its quite plesant to kind on, and for gaming its rock solid. Extremely nice rubber feet that grip the desk and its really heavy, so it resists movement very well.

Cons:key layout/sculpting, no ps2, keycap quality

Pros:cherry blues, cost, macros
Comment:
Pretty good for typing if you're a touch typist, though it can take some getting used to due to the way the keys are sculpted and laid out. The keycap finish and braised ink aren't of very good quality either, I wouldn't expect them to last very long.A pretty good value at the price it can be PMed to though. Even better if you got it free for reward points.

Just an overall exceptional keyboard. Black and fashionable, with a very good "modern" look to it. Exceptional crucial response. I didn't believe I would really like a mechanical keyboard this much, but typing is just a joy on this thing. Gaming is also superb, significantly superior than a inexpensive membrane keyboard. Great fancy packaging. I'm not truly a macro user so the macro keys on the left are sitting unused. They also shift the keyboard to the appropriate, which takes perhaps a week to get used to. Not a major deal even though. This won't make you a far better gamer, but it will most likely make you a greater typist at the very least. It's also 10x a lot more comfy to use for lengthy periods of time due to the low actuation distance.

Very excellent cost-to-efficiency ratio. It's a mechanical keyboard with cherry blue MX keyswitch architecture and wonderful develop good quality for only 80 bucks. The tactile keys are extremely responsive. It feels excellent to kind on and has a nice weight to it. A lesser known characteristic of these keyswitches is that you ought to let the key rise all the way back up (rather than just halfway like in several keyboards) just before you can activate the essential once again. This occasionally tends to make it annoying when you have to press 1 key twice in quick succession. Also, it lacks N-important rollover but I haven't noticed this as a key concern simply because of the "optimized gaming cluster" near the WSAD location. In this "cluster", you have up to 6-essential rollover.Glossy finish could be seen as negative by some. I like it, personally. The 5 macro keys on the left don't feel seriously beneficial. They're awkward to press in the middle of a rapidly-paced game. I bought this directly from Razer's web site.

This factor is incredible. I have by no means had a mechanical keyboard just before and now I think I may possibly by no means go back. Just typing Im's and typical stuff on it is a pleasure. I have told close friends of mine who perform in an office they really should appear into 1 just for the typing aspect.Ok gamers. I can see where some ppl are coming from with the modified layout. However there are simply no other keyboards this excellent with gaming functions such as macros out there, at least close to this value (nabbed it on sale for 70). I have discovered that playing Black Ops (all I play truly) is even better with this keyboard. I have heard about double tapping concerns but have found none myself.I know its a loud keyboard but consider of it this way. If gamers seriously want the audible tactile feedback of a mechanical keyboard the switches demands to be kinda loud. When Im fraggin ppl with the volume blasting in my headset I can barely here the blues on this board, great in my thoughts. None however. Great top quality for a razer item thinking of some of their stuff feels affordable (and I am a big razer fan) As soon as picked up the box for this keyboard I was amazed. On your lap this thing feels like a netbook or light notebook its so heavy. Its seriously nice to see Razer construct some thing like a tank, I think Im gonna be utilizing this for years to come.

I've had my eye on this keyboard for a while and it's also my first mechanical one. After price-matching to 54.99, this is probably the biggest steal I've ever made. It's quite a bit louder than I would have thought. The only downside to this is that I can't type quietly even if I wanted to.The glossy finish is annoying after less than a day of use. You really have to take care of the keyboard if you want it to last. The function key placement puts me in an awkward position when I want to Alt+F4 as I can't quite reach the F4 key while holding Alt in one hand. Also, the font is a bit edgy. Would much prefer something more clean-cut.All in all, for just over 60 dollars after taxes, a mechanical keyboard of this quality is definitely worth it.

Cons:I got the keyboard on March 2nd, 2011. It is now March 4th, 2012 and the WASD keys are getting black. The rest of the keys are still white, so it has an uneven tone.

Pros:-Cherry mx blue keys feel great.

I love the way this keyboard types and feels, but I hate how it gets dirty/fingerprints so easily. I suggest spending the extra money and going with the ultimate because those keys are see through so when the back lights are on, you can't tell if they're dirty or not.

Hefty and solid keyboard. Keys are really sensitive and have a incredibly very good really feel. Although this is a mechanical keyboard, if you were not confident specifically what that was you'll be a little surprised by the distinction. The keyboard layout is a tiny tricky and calls for adjustment. The macro keys throw off your left hand positional awaress for some time (I'm still ajusting). the space amongst the Esc and F1 important is odd. They board still has me searching down from time to time.Keys can be also delicate from time to time. Frequently my thumb gets a small heavy and the keyboard rattles out 30-40 spaces before I realized I'm pressing it.Have yet to find a valid use for the Macro keys in my gaming. Given the chance, I could go with something else because it wasnt rather what I was looking for. But this is a actually excellent board if it's what you are hunting for.Mine arrived damage, but Newegg RMA'd with advance replacement. Second 1 arrived with a couple of loose keys, effortless to snap into spot...but this should have been carried out at the factory imo.

Cons:Not as good quality as other mechanical keyboard manufacturers Has blue switches (clicky and loud) if you don't like the noise

Pros:Cheap and very comfortable
Comment:
This mechanical keyboard is solid overall. If you're looking to get a fair price mechanical keyboard that you hope will keep for a few years. I'd strongly recommend this keyboard. Although it does not have the same strong quality like a das or steelseries keyboard, it remains to be a fairly well constructed keyboard. Uses blue tactile switches and tend to be noisy while typing. It has a feel of an old type writer when you type on the keyboard.

Love it. I type for a living (software developer) and this keyboard is just what I needed. I was looking at buying a das keyboard but saw this on sale for $70 and took the leap. I'm glad I did. This is a steal at $70 with the Cherry MX blues. Yeah it's loud as hell, but so was my old IBM keyboard I regret selling. With the amount I type per day this should ease up on strain dramatically. Plus it's easier to type fast.I'll have to keep my dome keyboard on hand for late nights though so I don't wake the wife.

A solid, hefty keyboard that is a joy to use. The capacity to turn off the windows key during gaming to avoid accidentally hitting it and opening the start menu is wonderful! I have not tried to system any macros on there, so I'll leave that to there people the enter key on the quantity pad doesnt register if you push just the bottom proper most corner from time to time (this is a personal habit, I'll reach more than and hit that key with my mouse hand)My wife doesn't like the clicky noises it makes at night. Its corded, that could be a dilemma for some individuals. No back light, but the Ultimate version does have backlit keys. The riser feet will fold in if you push the keyboard away from you, they have fantastic traction (so take that as you will) I grew up on old IBM click click click keyboards, so this brings me back to an age exactly where the personal computer was magical. It has a nice solid weight to it that keeps it firmly planted when gaming.

Bought for $84.99. Think this was the sale price back then. My first mechanical keyboard beside the shift key mentioned great mechanical keyboard. Also if the shift key get off center can be fixed by just pressing the left shift key on the proper side. Doesn't happen often tend to happen more when playing FPS where its your run key.
