RAZER Black Wired BlackWidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: glossy finish, compact key layout

Pros: Mechanical keyboard
Comment:
Yes, I think you have heard enough about all these goodness about Mechanical keyboard, it's ALL true. So let me go straight to the part I do not like about this keyboard.First the key layout is more compact than ordinary keyboard, so they can fit 5 quick access macro key on left side. If you never used a gaming keyboard before, it could be difficult to use to, I kept pressing M5 key for Ctrl, because it's just in the position where you find ctrl in most keyboard. I have own this keyboard for one week now, and still make the same mistake. (because in my office there is only one traditional keyboard) Another thing I don't like is the shining glossy finish. I don't mind leave my finger print on my gadget, but trust me, this thing just not comfortable to lay your palm on it. I can keep my hand away from it most of time, but just occasionally touch it make your typing experience downgrade.(for the same reason they won't make the keys in glossy finish!)

RAZER Black Wired BlackWidow Mechanical Gaming Keyboard
Cons: - Glossy finish attracts finger prints

Pros: - Price point- Better deal than the Black Widow Ultimate - Good build quality- Cherry MX Blue switches
Comment:
I want to first of all say that I was nervous buying a Razer product, I have heard bad things about their keyboards in the past. However, after using this for about a week I can honestly say that this keyboard has grown on me.The cherry MX blue key switches mean that this keyboard will be loud when you type on it. When you press a key you can feel exactly where it actuates. Anyone in the room will also hear it as the keys do make a loud tak tak noise. However it is not loud enough that loud music or headphones cannot overpower. After using a Logitech G15v2 for a couple years I can say that this is a noticeable improvement. for 84$ I would defiantly recommend this over any rubber membrain keyboard. As far as other mechanical keyboards go, this Razer Black Widow gains an advantage in its price and its use of macro buttons. Competitors on NCIX such as the Metadot Das and the Steelserise 6Gv2 have PS/2 compatibility, and the full N key roll over that comes along with that (ability to press more than 6 keys at once, and multiple key combinations at once). Having said this I have not found a situation where this n-key roll over has affected my gameplay. Personally I though paying an extra 50 or so dollars for the Ultimate was a huge rip off, the only thing you get is back lighting, a usb port as well as mic and audio extension ports. For me the deciding factor was the 72$ open box price. I am completely happy with this product. However, I cannot end my review without saying that if you are seriously considering a mechanical keyboard you should compare the Das and the 6Gv2 with this one before purchasing as they are also very high quality keyboards.
