Reads a wide selection of cards. Wants to be a slightly bigger...it fits a small loose in my case. Also don't like the red indicator light on the front that stays on at all occasions...even when the computer system is in sleep mode.

USB works fine Face plate interferes with SD card insertion and comes off easy. Red light will not go out even with computer turned off. Got what I paid for.. attempt spending a few a lot more bucks and get some thing built a little better than this.

1. Cheaptwo. It fits in my casethree. It appears to perform now that I have tweaked with it. 1. Cheap constructiontwo. Seriously bright red light (which is on ALL THE TIMEƝ. I had to physically bend the SD card slot metal housing to make it so that I could actually insert an SD card. Not fantastic Sabrenet. Not good at all. I ought to Never have to do this to make a new item work. It could be that I got a bum card reader, but when I have to use a mini screwdriver to bend the housing inside the card reader into shape so I can even use it, that speaks volumes about the excellent of this item. Don't obtain it unless you are prepared to do a bit of tweaking.

Functions like advertised. Nonetheless working over one year old. Adds drive letters in My Personal computer. Speed is fantastic. Worked nicely with undelete utility to recover photographs. Would be good quality function to have a power switch as a result of I only rarely use it. Had it disconnected for about a month when I was possessing some motherboard/ boot drive challenges. Had practically nothing to do with this reader, but would be nice to be in a position to just turn it off. Due to the fact it connects to USB on your motherboard, it can be powered on just after boot. I do not have 68 forms of memory cards, for that reason, have not utilized most. But works well on those I do have. I thought a assessment on a item nevertheless available right after a year in use would be much better than one particular of the 'just installed' evaluations that are even more common. I don't write lots of critiques because a great number of products are not out extended sufficient to give a extended term evaluation. This one passes my approval. - CAUTION - While NewEgg is nonetheless a great dealer, I not too long ago identified they would not honor warranty on an item that I removed the UPC to send in for a rebate. Cost me a single way shipping to identify this out.

It looks fairly, functions if you don't use Memory Stick Pro Duo I DO use Memory Stick Pro Duo. It doesn't work. I plug in the card, the light turns green (which, according to the manual, implies it's "connected") but it never shows up. Worked with the other memory kinds I tried. I did try two different MSPD and it didn't function on either. I guess they don't like Sony?

Reads cards. No issues with reading cards. Looks fairly good. I would advocate it. The "power" light was on all the time. My PSU keeps USB power on even when the pc is off, so it was rather annoying. Solved employing a pair of side-cutters on the LED lead. The USB port is upside-down. Not genuinely a difficulty, just sorta funny. Flash drive light points down. Could be a pro. Solved by turning laptop or computer case sideways.SD card is finicky to insert, but you get used to it.SD card sticks out a lot. I am worried that one particular day I'll hit it by accident and snap it in half.Mounting holes did not line up with any in my HTPC case (N82E16811154062). In reality, the shortness of the unit made it poorly supported, also. Solved using a drill, some sheet metal, and a couple of screws and nuts.Make excellent is poor, but tends to make it simple to open up and fix things like the power LED. Really solid as soon as mounted, so not truly a difficulty at all. I don't get why men and women are so eager to make a personal computer but so unwilling to resolve problems they encounter with their hardware. As an alternative, they just return it. This device is functioning great for me soon after a few minor changes. The only true con is that the card sticks out so far that it could easily be snapped in half. The rest of the issues I encountered had been solved. If you want hardware that will do what you want for inexpensive, just put a little added work into it.

Quite tiny cash wasted. I have purchased significantly less interesting and far more high priced paperweights. </sarcasm> Nicely, it's entirely non functional now. That's partially my fault though, because I attempted to use it. When I inserted the microSD card, nothing occurred. I bent down and saw that the card had slid involving the edge of faceplate slot and the actual slot on the board (they aren't aligned).I disconnected, unmounted, and disassembled the situation. Don't worry, the sticky plastic all more than the issue is removable. I retrieved my SD card and place it back collectively, vowing to be more careful with future insertions.I re-mounted and re-connected to the identical USB header. Regrettably, "this device is not performing at total speed," says Windows. "You really should connect this device to a USB2. plug!" Me: "That's funny, Windows! It was connected to a USB2 plug five minutes ago!"Disconnect, unmount, disassemble. Examine header pins inside the enclosure for accidental harm. Note that shiny silver cable isn't essentially secured to anything.I was so infuriated that I reinstalled my 3.five" flop

None I fI could give this zero I would. This is extremely cheaply produced. The duo slot reader came with bent pins and some not full seated. Was asking yourself if it was previously utilised??? You had to hold the chip down to get it to read. The pins are inexpensive and quickly bent. Of program by the time I essentially try the duo slot my 30 days are up. Quite disappointed with the gear and my inability to return it.

FastA single much more external USB portCan copy files from 1 card to an additionalSubstantially a lot more handy than a floppy driveNo more fumbling for USB cables / external card readers Vivid red light on 24ǝ, somehow even when my personal computer is offMicroSD cards take a little bit of force to put in, a tad bit additional than I really feel comfy with. It is constructed solidly, and the outside is solid metal, but the device is extremely light. I ordered this, a flash drive, and a handful of other small things, and they all came in a single huge box, and all together, every thing was less than a pound.I have a laptop or computer case with a major window, and I modded it with a lot of blued LEDs, so my personal computer glows blue, and looks attractive. I installed the card reader, there were no difficulties, XP and Linux identified it nearly immediately, Windows 7 was looking for 5 minutes, but required no user intervention, but there is a red LED that is bright, and stays on non quit, even if my laptop or computer is off, and that ruins the aesthetics, and is an eye sore (figuratively of course), I covered it with a smaller piece of electrical tape, and it blocks the light for now.

When it performs, it performs nicely. It has fantastic transfer speeds and once it sees whatever you put in, it has no troubles. It's quite inconsistent. My microSD slot no longer works, so I need to have the SD adapter to get it to operate. It also doesn't often recognize my cards, so I typically have to re insert them a couple of times just before my computer can see it. Very annoying and frustrating. When I initial got this, it worked good. I had completely no issues for the 1st couple months, and then the microSD slot broke. Then I would ultimately have to place in the card a handful of times for it to see it. All round, I'm disappointed, but for ฝ, what can you anticipate?

Affordable. That's about it. Have tried each SD and microSD. Each cards ought to be held in tightly for them to read. When I transfer information, I will need to have one particular hand on the card and the other on my mouse. If I let go of the card although it's in the reader, it disconnects. Not very good, in particular if you dislike corrupted/deleted data on your source card.

Sealed unit.Only one particular cable to add to your case.Nicely completed cable. No reading problems.Looks fine. Why in the world did they feel a 1,000 watt LED was required to be on ALL the time?Genuinely had to function at plugging the USB connector onto my USB header on my Asus M4A78T-E.My headers have a plastic shield about them and produced it almost not possible to fit thier connector in.Under no circumstances had that take place just before with other issues plugged into them. I at present have a little piece of tape over the LED I talked about earlier.Believe I'll put my painting capabilities to perform and very carefully paint more than the LED.
