Nice design and style Not recognized by Windows 7 on two unique computers. Been purchasing from Newegg for several years. They ought to cease selling items which are garbage. With their acquiring energy, they can influence the computer parts sector to boost the top quality of what is made. Just appear at all of the evaluations. Poor excellent and DOAs are rampant.

Uncomplicated install, low-cost, metal casing considerably studier. All drive ports had been read with out problems. Win7 very easily detected and installed, liked that it identified each and every of the connections in Device manager rather of USB Generic. in all probability 3.4" instead of three.five, but mounted sturdy Got this following the Vantec I returned wouldn't read my CFs and stripped out of the plastic casing. Substantially superior high quality item.

-It works, employed 4gb sdhc-Silver braided cable-ten bux -Red light is horrible. Tiny square of black electric tape. difficulty solved. I read the evaluation right here initially, knew about the red light issue, and ordered it anyways. Taped the light, fired up my new tower and tried it with a digi camera card. lets hope it operates for years to come.

New Egg helped me with this piece of ****. Newegg you ROCK!!! Got the very first a single, plugged it in and it fried, smoke and everything. Referred to as Newegg and they shipped me yet another a single. Plugged it in and it would not operate. Tried switching the cables around like someone else mentioned (and like it says to in the manual (see other thoughts)) and it still did not operate. Named the Sabrent tech assistance quantity for this, and they said and i quote "oh well we cant assist you, it must just not perform, just attempt getting yet another 1" This was my 1st Sabrent item and I will never ever EVER get one more Sabrent item. In the manual it says that the cables could require to be switched about to work with specific motherboards. Only problem is neither the manual, nor the cord, nor the pins on the card reader say what is for what. My motherboard clearly marks what pin is for what (like energy, ground, ect). Called sabrent to ask why it is not operating and to get the pin data and got the "oh nicely we cant assist you, it ought to just not work, just attempt buying one more one particular" reply. Also, I did notice that between the original 1 and the replacement that the two cords had the cables going to diverse areas on the connectors, and had distinct cable colors. Apparently Sabrent just throws the cables in at random with whatever they have laying around. Overall here is what I really feel about this item and Sabrent: NO high quality control, WORST EVER consumer service, Full Piece of *** Solutions. My recommendation to you: DO NOT Buy!!! Go with the other brands that are a handful of $ additional, but rated way greater!

* Windows 7 Pro recognized it without any trouble.* The USB port operates.* It read my Kingston SDHC card fine. * My external tricky drive is now drive L:\. At least the extra drives remain hidden till you use them.* The red LED remains on continuously, even when not in use. This is only a challenge if you sleep in the very same room as your computer and leave it continuously on. Installed in Bytecc three.5" to 5.25" bracket in CoolerMaster Elite330 case, attached to MSI 790FX-GD70 motherboard

I purchased 3 of these and they have worked reliably for over a year now. A single minor annoyance. All the bottom card slots, SD/MMC, XD and the Micro SD slots are upside down. Has worked well with Windows XP pro, and Vista 64bit.

Low cost, supports alot of cards, has a usb in port Doesn't support UDMA, affordable construction, metal retainer clip in the SD slot dent far inward soon after initially use and was created unusable. I picked this on the fly and didn't consider I would need to have considerably much more than an avg unit for memory cards. Immediately after researching readyboost I wanted to make use of CF cards with UDMA and thats when I learned I had to replace the unit considering that it didn't support UDMA.

-68 supported formats-clean appear-unobtrusive labels-micro SDHC slot-sturdy develop for the price-great price -generally-on red power light: it's on whenever the computer system is receiving power, even although off or asleep-also brief: for my Antec Twelve Hundred, only the rearmost screws are connected and the front rests against the bezel adapter-shortish USB cable: I know that I have a full-tower case, but it just barely reaches and I can't use its cable routing capabilities. Also, I wish it was black rather of braided silver. The red light is Seriously bright and really annoying. I covered it with a smaller square of electrical tape, but light nevertheless shines from the adjoining "access" light and the M2 slot.

The red light works. All the time! Nothing else operates. Just the one particular red light. The slots are also so incredibly misaligned that you can not get a compact flash card into it. Frustrating! Surely the worst product I have ever purchased from Newegg. By far! Considering that the red light functions I know it is connected. tried unique USB headers, all with the very same results. Not worth sending it back as it was so low-cost. I wonder what a ball peen hammer will do to it? Hmmmm.

Good functions, excellent cost, good efficiency. Poor reliability. Worked fine for three months then starting consuming CF flash cards completely corrupting information beyond high recovery tools. I would appear elsewhere. I've had many other similar products from other producers that have worked with no situation for years.

It was inexpensive. It reads cards. At least some. Has a slot for micro SD however will not read content on the micro SD. Indicator light comes on indicating that the card is inserted but the drive will not read. If I put the micro in an SD adapter and insert in that sl;ot it reads fine. Cannot find anything in the packaging for client support or warranty claims. Very good luck. It was affordable. Did I say that currently?

Reads pretty much something out there, and even accepts Micro SD cards devoid of an adapter. All metal enclosure limits dust. Operates as advertised. Value. Red light is regularly on and serves no objective that I can tell. Width was undersized by almost certainly 1Ǟ", had to use washers to maintain it centered in my three.5" bay. Lettering is extremely very smaller. Every card variety (SD, CF, MS, XD) is given it's personal drive letter at all occasions, which means four further drives show up in Windows Explorer even when absolutely nothing is in any of the slots. Soon after reading some of the conflicting evaluations about tight vs. loose fit (like mine), upside down SD cards (mine is not), USB port on the left side (mine is on the appropriate), drives visible all the time vs only when a card is inserted, and so on. Right here is the deal. There are apparently at least 3 distinct versions of this reader with the similar element quantity. Mine looks exactly like the image here. Over in at the striped carnivorous cat, it looks like this reader but flipped more than. Those who say their SD cards are "upside down" & USB is on the incorrect side most likely have this version. More than in the jungle, their picture shows a unit with a distinct layout and also lacks the M2 and uSD ports. Once more, these are all the similar component number (CRW-UINB) so I guess it's a bit of pot luck as to which version you get.

Usually functions good, plenty of ports for what most individuals will require. Overall affordable create, but superior than most for the price tag. Some ports such as the USB are installed upside down, despite the fact that that could not be the case for all of them. Was awkward to install, its only long adequate to use one particular screw on every side of the 5.25" to three.five" adapter that came with my case (Antec 900 Two) so it can swivel a bit in its mount. Also, for the duration of a recent addon to my system I noticed that one particular of the wires came out of the plug, and it only had a single tiny copper strand going into its socket, rather than the entire cable, and now the SD card slot does not function and there isn't sufficient wire to reattach it. Again, could be a fluke, and it was good for the past year for what small I paid for it.

Well, it confident was low-cost... No positives at all. DOA. Waiting for replacement. Looks like the wave soldering on the circuit board was bungled. Didn't light up at all. Any person who complains about the red light requirements to take a chill pill. Would have loved to have observed it myself!

Takes up quite small space, good. Fairly sturdy, and you need to always be gentle with your electronics anyhow.Reads 68 various formats, in one device! C'mon whats not to appreciate about that? Bright light. constantly on. I don't have a three.five" floppy drive bay in my Antec 1200!That in no way relates to the way this device functions, just a con mainly because I didn't take the time to read all of the specifications.

It has the microSD reader which is fairly sweet The USB port pushed all the way in to the casing so you can't use it any longer. The red light is super annoying. You have to kinda operate the cards into the slots, they don't truly slide in that smoothly It's ok, I almost certainly should have gotten one particular a tiny nicer but it functions well thinking of what I paid.

It plugs into the USB header and Vista finds it promptly and installs drivers for it. Tough to put the SD card in. Appears the slot doesn't specifically line up with the hole in the front of the card reader. For the price tag I can deal with it even though. It would be nice if it lined up properly had to show my daughter how to put her card in with no screwing something up. Guess I ought to have stuck to the ATI brand of card readers rather of sacrificing cost.

Supports all the card formats that I'm interested inFunctions excellent in LinuxLooks good in my case The Compact flash reader is slow. if I use my camera as a CF reader, I typically get 2x more rapidly transfer speeds. Also, the pins in the CF reader need to be much more durable. I'd only been using the card reader for about 18 months prior to the pins started bending. I attempted to straighten them once again, but it is now beyond repair. It's OK if you're seeking for a low-cost internal card reader and don't particularly care about CF durability or speed, then this is ideal for you.
