About six months ago, I purchased one from TG and it has worked like a champ. I was impressed because my son bought one in which his two-year old son could not destroy after the door to the computer room was left over. I also purchased another one for a friend. All three are working with absolutely no problems. I use my Sabrent for OS back-up and I use it as an active drive for my music library. Thanks Carl another fine deal from TG.

This Case is great. The hardest part was trying to figure out how to disassemble it to put the drive in but it fit back in place perfect and the rails on the side fit perfect and it was shipped with the correct cables. I don't know why some people had problems.

I got this drive enclosure a while back and have been using it endlessly since. It's a great product with a great price. I recently got an Ultra drive enclosure because it came with a hard drive and I thought I'd try it out. I like the Sabrent enclosure so much more. No screws, easy drive installation, uses standard computer AC power cord instead of a transformer. Nothing extra like firewire, which I don't use. Did have one problem that I realized you sometimes have to set the drive to cable select instead of master to get it to work.

Just arrived right now. I'm already backing up data to my WD 80GB HDD. The HDD fit in perfectly didnt have any problems inserting it. Also it does come with the correct USB 2.0 cable. Its a great product for the price I totally recommend it and its very small. HAHAHA! Thanx SABRENT & TIGERDIRECT!

Got this product based solely on price consideration. I will buy more. This case is so simple compared to others. Set as master plug it in. I had NO problems with the fit or anything else. XP detected and installed it immediately. As I replace all my IDE drives with SATA I will get these for my old ones. They are GREAT.

Picked this up in store today. Assembling is a bit confusing, 'coz the manual doesn't tell you how to take it part and put the pieces back together. Cooling is another concern, because it doesn't have a fan. Not need to set jumper to cable select. Working nicely with plug&play. It also works with my Win98 (not SE) - that's why I picked this one. Although the manual is completely misleading, the included driver CD is all you need to make it work with old OS. Anyway, it's a ''good buy'' - especially for the price.

Unlike the other reveiws I had no problems with installing a drive in the enclosure. Drive Jumper did not need to be set to Cable Select. Turned on the power , Xp recognized the Drive and I was able to retrieve Data. Would recommend this case to anybody needing and External Drive Enclosure.

Very nice case. setup was not very easy. Directions are very limited, they say to set the drive as master. This is NOT correct. Set as CS. I fallowed the directions and went to alot of extra work, trouble shooting the drive, moving data that already existed on the drive and formating, then replacing the data. Trying diffrent file systems...ect.. only to find out that all i needed to do was set it to Cable Select. Hours and hours wasted. But other than that, It works Great!!! The rails along the side don't fit tight, but, I didn't have to modify anything. installation was easy. Very nice drive case for the Price!

Unlike other reviews I had no problems with this item and have used it for a year now.. Fantastic for moving files around and backup..A snap to install. I've changed drives numerous times..Buy one for you and anyone else you can think of Russ in Florida

I also had to shorten the rails and shave off some of the plastic on the snap in covers. We own several USB enclosures including several Sabrents (different model) and have never had to make modifications. This Sabrent model is a dud. You shouldn't have to make modifications therefore I am giving this model a 2.

As other said, the installation was a little tricky. The mounting rails provided with the kit had to be modified to get the enclosure to stay together. Once it was modified everthing else was OK. Looks nice, small and compact. Gets a little warm to the touch under heavy use.

Shipped with all the necessary parts. Trying to get the hard drive inside was difficult - it was EXTREMELY cramped and, as stated in other reviews, I had to use a knife to modify the plastic part of the casing so that it could close with my hard drive in it. It ended up being in vain, since the small board in the back became dislodged from its housing (thus, allowing the USB and power ports to be pushed inward and making plugging things in very difficult). Also had a software/driver issue - it worked fine until I turned it off; after I turned it back on a few hours later, Windows told me that the device had malfunctioned (it was an issue with the case, since I tried several SCSI devices and got the same error). To get technical support, I had to scour the drivers for company information (Cypress Semiconductors). Overall, I wasn't satisfied with this product. I ended up purchasing a different enclosure - one from a name-brand company with more physical room for my hard drive.

Very slim, light case. Easy to assemble - the included screwdriver was a very nice surprise! Very fast USB 2.0 connection exactly as described. My only reservation with this unit was that it does not allow much heat to escape after running the drive for an extended period of time, and the case becomes quite warm very quickly. I may drill a few holes in various places to provide some ventilation. Otherwise, A+!

This is one slick case... especially for the price! i installed a WD 400GB drive no problem. only complaint was the side pcs, but I found that even if i didnt screw anything in it didn't move much anyway... works like a charm.

I had the same problem with the mounting rail. Had to drill 3 holes by myself. Otherwies it works great. The casing actually is better than those more expensive but plastic ones.

Issues 1) the cable shipped with the product is wrong. It was USB1.1 on both ends. As pe rthe specifications, the cable should be USB2.0 on one side and USB1.1 on the other. 2)The mounting rails can not be used with they are too long. I had to mount it without the rails. 3) It does not fit in properly.Remains loose. 3) perfromace wise it is good.

The functionality is good, the only issues I had with this was during installation. 1. The mounting was not right, the mount rails had to be shortned to get the encloser back together. 2. the instructions indicated to set the HD to master, that, in my case was incorrect. It had to be set to single.
