Massive, massive fan, up too 4 120mm fans on this monster big, somewhat heavy, clunky mounting technique I bought this January of 2010 utilized it all summer time and i really like it. I bought a case as nicely so it would match and when i got every thing place back collectively my temps plummeted, I went from 28C idle and 68C load on my stock cooled phenom x4 9650@ stock clocks to 17C idle and 35C load on the same cpu overclocked to two.47 from the two.three.I stated that the mounting method is clunky but as soon as installed it is strong as a rock.I would reccomend this to everyone that has a case this will fit in.

Keeps your CPU cool. Motherboard can automatically manage fan speed. Very quiet (at low/idle speeds?). Can mount integrated fan for blow or suck from any of four sides. Large. Couples screw holes were badly threaded. This is an successful heatsink and the tradeoff is its size. I was kinda disappointed in the adaptors for the LGA 1366 (i7) socket, but that's the tradeoff for fitting a number of sockets (which possibly outcomes in a reduced expense). My only real complaint is the mounting for the socket adaptor to the heatsink base. Two of the four screw holes weren't threaded adequately, so I had to crank super really hard to screw them in. It seems to be holding fine although (CPU @ 38deg under load).

Compatible with so many socket varieties. Does a great job lowering the temps compared to the stock cooler. It is a small complicated to install by oneself. I recommend asking someone for support screw it in.

- Strong backplate for the mo'board. - Strong mounting with screws, not push pins. - Not as hefty as it looks. - Fan can be mounted on any of the four sides. - Quiet. - Looks excellent. - Keeps my i7-two.93 at 29-30 degrees C. - Fins very easily bent (didn't take place to me, although). - Can cut if not careful (read the cautions). - Fan cable not sheathed. I place this in a HAF-X case (huge situation). Had to mount the fan on major. (It's designed to push, not pull air.) It's a bottom mounted energy supply, so I had room on top. On the other sides it would have covered either a memory slot (tall RAM), the mo'board small power connector, or rested on the north bridge heat sink. Make positive you have rook, not only in the case, but for your mo'board configuration. This was a new set up, and I did it without assistance. As an additional wrote, put the Scythe upside down on the table, and mount the mo'board to it.

Dropped temperatures on my I5-750 with the stock cooler at idle from 32ºC to 26ºC. Temperatures now leading out at 41ºC where prior to they would go well above 60ºC. Outstanding value. Only attainable fault I could give is the edges are slightly sharp, so be careful handling it. Clears my ASUS P7P55D PRO motherboard with G.Skill Ripjaws Series with ease. Just have to push the fan up a small. This is the very first CPU cooler I've ever installed but I felt it was comparatively easy. I didn't require help from anybody like some have said right here. Didn't will need to take the motherboard out of the personal computer either.

Okay, this factor took me a whilst to get right. At very first I was receiving the similar temps as the stock cooler. I remounted it 3 occasions and got some new thermal paste. Now my CPU 񡺟T) is overclocked at 3.3ghz from two.8 and runs at 45-46C! This cooler is gangster! At initial I was going to give this beast a poor evaluation, but immediately after remounting three instances I lastly got the temps I was looking for.It is large, but not too large. Honestly I feel it's also major because when i touch the major fins of the heatsink they aren't even the slightest bit warm, so it seems like the heatsink itself is not becoming completely utilized. Perhaps it would be utilized with a CPU that runs hotter, I don't know.Either way it gets the job performed for me. Not actually a con, but far more of an observation. Set up tip if you're by oneself: Set the heatsink upside down on a table or whatnot and stack DVDs up on the side so that the motherboard can rest on the DVDs and the heatsink can meet up with or virtually be touching the CPU. As soon as your motherboard is sitting pretty with out your assistance, you can use both hands to line up the screw holes and screw it in with each hands.

Great temperature reduction. Reasonably easy to install. A case with backplate access aids a lot. On the Asus Sabertooth X58, there are a lot of pins going by way of the board and which end up among the cooler's backplate and motherboard. I'm concerned about the effects of pressure on these pins. No problems so far.

-Wonderful cooling for the price... something far better than this will call for just about 2x the cost. -Effectively constructed, higher create excellent. Everything looks and feels solid.-Good fan w/ PWM... incredibly quiet even at one hundred% and cools fairly properly.-Highly polished & really flat base.-Decent thermal compound integrated. -Mounting... as pointed out previously. This was the only factor holding it back from five eggs in my opinion. Thankfully, I was placing this on a new develop, so it was less difficult, but if you're trying to place this on an current create, you may conserve your self some time / remounting if you have an individual there to aid. It is not overly difficult to mount, by any indicates, but when you're trying to get a nice firm seating with out letting the sink wiggle around a whole lot, it could be akward for certain. I spent a lot of time roaming about web sites & evaluations trying to come across "the greatest" cooler. There is no "the very best" cooler. It will be distinct for everybody depending on what you deem significant. Noise level, cooling performance, value, size... this is a incredibly excellent compromise of all of those. I decided to go with this based on value vs. performance. This will enable at least a moderate-higher overclock and for anything greater that is worth paying for, you're hunting at double the price. Though, if you're going intense overclock on air, this is not the cooler for you.Fits in my corsair 600t on a p8p67 pro. Fan hangs right on best of the g.ability ripjaws... something taller than these might run into mounting concerns.

1: It's incredibly effective. It keeps my I7 870 cool at 3.9Ghz2: It's has a PWM fan so the motherboard can manage the fan speedthree: It's fairly quiet, though at total speed it is rather noticable over the case fans. Quite.four: The fins start fairly high, so even if it hovers over them, it nonetheless has room underneath to permit for a close northbridge or memory chipset with a little bit of heatsink on them.five: The fan can be clipped on any of the 4 sides, so you can point it up if you want, even if you are putting in on an AMD chip. 1: It's huge. It's so huge that it's hard to get to the screws to tighten it to the backplate unless you have a philips screwdriver with a long shaft.2: The fan has to be clipped in to spot soon after it is installed in the case as it blocks the mounting screws when it is attached. This can lead to some rocking of the base on the CPU - typically not a good thought. It DOES fit in a number of the bottom-PSU style cases, such as the Antec Nine Hundred Two and the Rosewill Destroyer. With a couple of millimeters to spare on the Rosewill, but it's enough that there is no danger of touching the cover.

Even though it is a quite significant heat sink I was capable to fit in Ripjaws F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM just fine on an Asus P8P67 Pro with this beast.Extremely very good cooling efficiency, at CPU idle the fan is virtually silent at 𞷀rpms, at complete load it goes up to 1300-1400 rpms but still fairly quiet. All round incredibly good product. Installation is a little tricky but not tricky sufficient to take away an egg.

* Fantastic make top quality* All the parts were there* Solid mounting scheme* Mounting directions were pretty straightforward * Two person job...no kidding...because I was putting in it on my personal on a new motherboard, I sat the heat sink upside down on my ESD mat and lowered the MBO down onto it whilst sighting by means of the screw holes. Attaching it to an installed MBO will demand two people. * The fan clips could be a tiny beefier (think thin paperclip wire) I'm thinking about getting four more for my truck and acquiring rid of the radiator...they'll look way cool sticking out of a hole in the hood... Seriously, measure your situation' internals prior to ordering this.

Price/performance ratio is quite very good.Appears to be a extremely properly produced cooler. five heat pipesPWM FanCannot hear the fan at max rpm (very critical to me). Size - Make certain you have sufficient space in your situation! Cools fairly properly. i7 950ʃ.68 temps 40c idleአc loaded below Prime95. I normally overclock my cpu's 20-25% more than stock, so these results are perfectly acceptable...could get a few degrees far better when the ArcSilver5 has fully broken in.

Intense Cooling & Cost Mounting a discomfort BUT: 1) use a little tape on the back of the motherboard to temporarily attach the mounting bracket to the mobo, line the holes up carfully two) stand the mobo on it's side although mounting three) commence with the 2 screws at the top, when you get individuals two in, the lower two will be easy four) Don't forget to remove the tape. I just installed 5 of these on six-core i7 970 procs oc'd to four.2GHz. Idle temps had been under 30c and full load temp just below 60c. Simply remarkable. All this in Antec 300 circumstances with only the two stock exhaust fans. I have utilized these prior to but this combo is just chill.

Cools great. Regardless of the size it does not appear too heavy for the baord. Mirror finish on the heatsink. A LOT of efficiency for the buck. Also, pretty darn quiet. Keeping my overclocked 1090t at 4ghz nice a cool. Not truly a "con" unless you own a smaller situation but this factor is Major. I mean genuinely big. Kind of a pain to install too. Took me about 10 minutes to get it installed and attached to my board. I would get once again if I was building one more rig. Nicely worth it.

This point is big. It's way also huge. If it says it fits an ATX mobo and case, it must fit. But, it doesn't. It's a pretty cool hunting design, and looks like it would carry out well, but unless you built your computer in a laundry basket, it may not fit.

Keeps items awesome.................PERIOD! Have an AMD Quad 955 BE @ three.8 stock volts and it's averaging 52C on three monitoring programs (coretemp, speedfan, everest) right after 13+ hours Prime 95 significant blend 鲤% four cores, 75% ram) in a room that's about 73F. I recognize there's some other programs out there that can strain it a little much more, but I don't do significantly far more than surf the net and game:D If it helps, I threw in a scan from Avast and Malwarebytes, and at a single point I was installing some video games all though Prime 95 was going.............she kept suitable on going! Yes, it's massive, but it operates wonderful! Like other individuals stated, it can be a 2 person job if you don't have the best manual dexterity. It took two for me. The pressure from the back plate helps for a nice, tight fit. I put this in an Antec 900 situation with the fan on the bottom to push the air by way of out the best. Left about an inch perhaps between that and my 5870 below it. In this way although, it doesn't stick more than the ram slots, and it sticks up kinda high, so there's now issues with ram clearance. Even so...........if you count on to put a 120 fan on the side of the Antec 900, this cooler WILL NOT permit for that (unless you hack job it)! Beastly, but keeps cpu extremely cool. Decent price! I checked out some testimonials on tech internet sites very first. This 1 seemed to be highly advocate for the cost/performance ration!

Keeps temperatures down decrease than the stock fan but for much less noise. The mounting technique is complex and seems prone to damage on the motherboard. If you have any by way of protruding solder on the backside of your motherboard near your CPU there is a great probability this fan will cover individuals with a piece of metal held firm with a thin foam pad. The general style doesn't seem all that negative but I be concerned about electrical shorts. The short of it is that I only employed it for a month, decided the 2c difference in idle temperatures weren't worth it or the 5c distinction at load and went back to my old heat sink.
