I received my RMA, so I can now give it an actual assessment. The heatsink is effectively produced (this time), and it in spite of it's big size is effeciently created. No fancy curves, just a square box shape just modest adequate to fit comfortably in my Antec 300 Illusion case. With the fan in spot, it does intrude on 1 of my memory slots; not a dilemma if you are using low profile memory or if you only have 2-three DIMMs installed.I used Arctic Silver 5 (lol, you can't abbreviate it) thermal compound and installed to heatsink on my AM3 based board. Intallation was both uncomplicated and obvious once you identified the ideal adapters for your motherboard type. My temps using an AMD 970 overclocked to 3.95GB are 34-38C idle and up to 60C below load (running Prime95 for four+ hours). The average temp is about 55C below load for something other than Prime95. With a superior fan, I could bring the temp down yet another 2-3 degrees. Stock, my temps in no way exceeded 53C underneath load even when operating Prime None With a greater fan, I consider this heatsink could absolutely compete with the very finest of the air coolers out there for about half the price tag. As it is, it is absolutely in the leading 5. If you don't thoughts a bit a lot more noise, think about getting a greater CFM fan. Depending on your case and demands, a second fan is almost certainly not worth it though. I only got an further degree of cooling but a lot much more noise. General, although I stand my original critique concerning their excellent handle, if you do get a unit in great condition, you will not be disappointed.

Keeps my i7 920 c0 @ three.5GHz w/ Turbo at 40 idle and 65 with prime95 pressure test.At stock speeds it lowered me from stock cooler 50 idle 75 complete load (not prime95) to 32 idle 55 complete load with prime95.Quiet compared to my PSU fan. This IS the best Air cooler for the dollars. Tight fit in my Raidmax Smilodon, I had to remove the added GPU fan that was mounted on a bracket.Heatsink fan is sitting on my RamSidedoor fan is touching best of heatpipeHad to get rid of Mobo from mount to install (-1) My temps on my three.5GHz w/ Turbo OC didn't exceed 55 while playing Crysis maxed out for four hours straight. This is with fresh Arctic Silver five though, after the break-in period I expect to see a handful of degrees lower.Although this was a tight fit, It's not Scythe's fault I didn't measure (did not -1 egg for that).I say the Noctua NH-D14 is way overrated. I looked up a lot of evaluations, in the ones that contained the Mugen 2 and the NH-D14, they went back and forth.Benchmarkreviews dot com puts mugen 2 > nh-d14.Unless you're an enthusiast OC'er, spending additional than ุ for 2 to 3 degrees cooler is a waste.

Excellent cooling power; ran prime95 AND Furmark (for HD4850 GPU) at the very same time: the CPU temp barely climbed to 53 C for an E6400 Intel CPU. This can manage any CPU you throw at it. Installation, it took a even though (hardly a con). Also, an air filtered case is suggested, as the finely arranged fins can get hard to clean in the lengthy run (but it cools good, even with dust!). Hope to use this for Sandybridge񳁳 socket, as they seem to be similar to 1156 socket.

At initially I was skeptical of the critiques and user feedback with people claiming to get sub 30 celcius idle temps or high 30 low 40 gaming temps. But alas, immediately after I installed this monstrosity I am a correct believer. I am running an AMD Phenom II x4 965 (standard three.4ghz clock) and Windows 7 idles at 29 celcius, and I can play BC2 or SC2 all maxed settings for hours and in no way go above 42 celcius. I combined the cooler with Arctic MX-two, utilizing the cross method on CPU, flipped more than the mobo and installed the screws on back and voila it attached perfectly to my biostar ta785. Fins will cut you! Just be gentle with it. It idles around 28-29c or like 30-31 when I'm just web browsing or carrying out little things on Pc. That is like 84-88 fahrenheit. I am hotter than the CPU. I really heat up my pc when I sit by it, think about that.

Keeps my CPU really cool!Fan is pretty quietKeeps my CPU Very cool!Running all my Games and CPU intensive applications at highest settings for stretches of time properly over 4 hours and the temp hasn't gone above 40degrees! That's extremely cool! I'm extremely happy with this cooler. It's big! I mean, like, seriously genuinely big! But if your situation can fit it, and it doesn't obstruct your other elements then it's actually absolutely nothing to knock an egg for. It functions. It's type of a pain to install, but then so are all coolers with their own back plate, so once again, absolutely nothing to knock and egg for.The directions aren't the best, in truth I had to watch a number of videos to get an concept of how to install this thing. On the other hand, when you've installed it the course of action is really pretty easy. Just take your time and be careful. I would very recommend possessing a friend or just somebody else there to enable you install it. I wound up asking my girlfriend to just hold the cooler while I balanced the mobo on best and very carefully mounted the back plate. After you have it lined up the thermal paste truly helps to retain the mobo from sliding out of location, so getting somebody to help at least up to that point is truly all you need. Fantastic Cooler. Did I mention it keeps my temps below 40degrees!!!

SOLD!!! Huge Size - It's tall and fat and will hang over the belt. This Cooler is clearly for cases with a lot of room. On the other hand, this is only a Con for men and women with a smaller case and they shouldn't be purchasing performance Air Cooling anyway. Install Difficulty = 9ቦ with 1 individual, 6ቦ with two. You will have to do some inventive stacking-of-odd-points to get this 1 mounted evenly on your own. It's relatively easy with a second individual even so, and only gets a 6ቦ mainly because you have to attach a mounting plate. If you have room to mount this monster do it. You will not see greater outcomes from any other Air Cooler on the marketplace I guarantee it.Any assessment lower than "PERFECT 10ቦ" is an insult to the intelligent folks reading it. Only "User Error" and shipping damage can account for a unfavorable expertise making use of this Cooler. This item deserves 11Ǜ eggs. It's twice the efficiency at clearance prices. The nearest competitors in Air Cooling fees as substantially if not more than Liquid Cooling. This cooler totally blows the Arctic Freezer 64 Pro away for efficiency and for nearly the similar value. -quiet-keeps CPU temps low-can fit up to 4 fans on this factor-incredibly fantastic cost for some thing this efficient-solid mounting mechanism -extremely big-some fins had been slightly bent on mine, but straightforward sufficient to function back to shape Bought this cooler in an ongoing work to get my personal computer quieter. It definitely works well for that, the fan stays beneath 1000rpm and is inaudible in my Antec 300 from about 1m away. In my space at about 14C with my i5-750 at stock speeds, this cooler keeps it about 20C with the best and back case fans on. With all case fans off, it gets to 30C or thereabouts. Note that these are idle temps although with Arctic Silver five thermal compound. Though playing games, it gets up into the mid-upper 40s. To be sincere, the cooler was in fact lighter and simpler to install than I imagined following reading all the critiques on-line. What I did was hold the Mugen above the CPU, not touching or smearing the compound yet, and just got the screws started into the bottom of the cooler. Once all the screws are slightly in, you're pretty a lot lined up as it really should be. Then just tighten it down and you won't have to worry about smearing the paste or anything.

Seems to cool my stepsons AMD technique quite effectively. It's a little bulky. Comes with the territory I guess. On my stepsons technique (AMD Phenom II 555BE unlocked to 4 cores, and overclocked to four.2Ghz) max load temperatures (prime 95) are in the mid to high 40C's using a 133Cfm Ultra Kaze fan.

This cooler keeps my Sandy Bridge LGA1155 2500Kʄ.5ghz, cucumber cool 難f (amb 77f) at complete load on my CPU even though benching is in the 132-138f range. replaced the stock fan with a Phobya Nano-G pwm for super silent operation.all the mounting hardware you could ask for for each Intel/AMD. Fantastic construct quality no bent fins or scratches, flat base. the pricing is outstanding when this is a single of the top rated CPU coolers for only 40.00 wouldn't anticipate much less from newegg. This cooler is also recognized as the MUGEN-2 Rev. B CPU Cooler google the evaluations. this is a substantial cooler so make confident your case will accept this. I had no problem mounting my DDR3 G.Ability ripjawsX under the cooler, not really a con: the mounting isn't that tough but it does take a tiny time to get almost everything mounted 30min. I utilized the strategy others have mentioned in earlier critiques. No Scythe stickers.Took 5 small business days to get this delivered with 3 days shipping but its not the coolers fault its neweggs or the delivery corporation.might be an concern with the tallest DRAM. Right after reading a lot of many reviews and carrying out a tiny homework on this cooler I don't feel you can go incorrect with the buy of this cooler for such a low price tag its temp range is with these premade watercooling Coolers and on par with the much more expensive Air cooling setups for 1ǘ the cost and only 1-2deg distinction

Uncomplicated in style emphasizing function over form...I look at this a extremely strong positive! Cooling performance has been quite impressive so far in only limited testing. I extremely advise this cooler if you have the space in your case. There seemed to be some tolerance in the mounting hardware style (screws / holes)...unexpectedly requiring varying levels of torque to correctly seat the bracket to the cooler. Be advised: The mounting style is optimized for two people today operating together (i.e. 4 hands). Solo installation is tricky but achievable with steady hands and a small patience ;) General, this cooler delivers a excellent bang for the buck.

A little much more tough to install than most, but I was able to do it by myself with no issues. I installed this on an AMD motherboard, ASRock 880GM-LE. It fits in Rosewill situation R101-P-BK with no modification.

fantastic cost for a excellent cooler. Couldn't rather fit a Noctua D14 in my situation with the height of my RAM (Patriot sector five), this guy clears it by about 1mm but just sufficient and the efficiency is nevertheless excellent. Idle temp dropped from 28 idle to 17 and load dropped from 46 to 35 immediately after four hrs of prime95. have to take mobo out to mount this heatsink, but i knew that going in so not docking an egg. fan clips appear low-cost but essentially work really properly and are entirely secure - no vibration whatsoever. Great airflow from the stock fan also. Surely worth pairing this with great thermal paste (AS 5) and following break in procedures. my temps have currently dropped 3 degrees in 1 week of break in.

Great cooler. Clearer gets the job accomplished. Fairly simple to figure out even though all instructions are in japanese. Just barely clears the heat sinks on my G.Skill RAM. I can get my temp down around 30-35 C, but I am 99% sure that I Nevertheless havent appropriately tightened this. The mounting method left the unit loose, and immediately after several attempts to tighten, I was left unhappy with the effort required to truly tighten the unit on. Used on: i7 930x58a-ud3r

Quiet! Operating it in my HTPC set up with an intel i-2500k (not overclocked) and it has no complications keeping it beneath 40-45C while virtually silent. Set-Up is a bit confusing for a initial timer, the directions are poor, and the pictures are not particulary beneficial. The Fan could be held on a little superior than with the Springy Metal Wires. If you get rid of/replace the fan additional than a handful of occasions I think you'd have difficulty keeping it in spot. I didn't use the stock thermal paste, my buddy had some antec silver bullet left more than so I employed that.Build: Antec Fusion Max (stock fans)WD Caviar Green 2TBSeagate 7200.12 1TBOCZVertex2 60GBMSI GTX460 CycloneAsus P8P67 Pro Motherboard

Factor is wonderful, i have a i5 760 in a haf 922 case running at 3.36ghz and the max temp i have seen the cpu at was 54 for the duration of stress testing. Installation was straightforward. you can mount the fan on either 4 sides and even add another 1 if you wanted. None This heatsink is Large. If you have ram with a huge heatsink you could run into difficulties. The way its installed on this asus P7P55D-E pro the heatsink itself doesnt cover the ram slots but the fan being on it would. Fortunately the fan had play on heatsink and can slide away from your mobo. It fits over my gskill ripjaws nicely

Excellent design, copper heat pipes with aluminum fins and a flat nickel speak to plate. Keeps my CPU great and cool. Compared to the stock Intel HSF, the Mugen two lowered my CPU temps ㅂC @ idle and ㅌC @ load (with AC5). Instances have it convenient to install immediately after market HSF now - but the Mugen 2 is a BEAR to install. I mean, a bunch of dummies got together and smoked a bowl then came up with the install system. I tried A number of instances to install it by myself, having to wipe the AC5 off each the HSF and the CPU each time. Finally I place the backplate on with the 4 screws thru the suitable holes and I leaned some thing against the backplate so it wouldn't fall when I tried to line up the HSF from the opposite side. I would have gave this 5 eggs, but the install was ridiculously dumb - particularly compared to how easy it is to install the stock Intel HSF. Intel i3-540, Gigabyte P55A-UD3, 2x2gb Wintec RAM

Tons of surface location, low air resistance, can attach up to 4 fans to it. Might be as well big for some situations, can block tall memory heatsinks. - Huge heat sink = Tons of thermal dissipation area.- Sturdy style.- 5 separate heat pipes. Installed fan could be be a greater RPM model, like one particular of their "Ultra Kaze" Models. This is an outstanding heat sink. I modified mine to use an "Ultra Kaze" 3000 RPM fan, and I utilized some Arctic Cooling MX-two compound. Lowered my QX9770 temps by 20 degrees C in a non air conditioned atmosphere. ( 22 - 30c typical idle temps OC'd).Please heed the other folks warnings in regards that this is indeed a big heat sink. It will not fit in most 'average' circumstances, but really should as an alternative be finest utilized onsizes leaning toward complete towers. I have 1 in a Cooler Master HAF 932, and it fits 'decently,' which means there is nonetheless space for air to move about it nicely.

Keeps things coolEasy installation beneath the correct conditionsSomewhat adaptable installation as the heatsink is a rectangle (you can install it "sideways"), and the fans can attach to any side.Fairly quiet fan Godzilla of the HeatsinksMay possibly not give adequate headroom for big RAM heat spreadersAbout the manual: Why is it so tough to translate each and every Asian language to English? If you're installing this on a new cpu and motherboard, and it's out of the chassis, then it's a genuinely effortless installation. The bracket for this cooler does not squash the CPU like clip-on heatsinks. I can't think about installing this in a motherboard which is already in a chassis.I have the giant Important Ballistix RAM on the Gigabyte 890FX-UD5 board, and I am in a position to use all four RAM slots. Even so, I chose to install a 92mm fan on the heatsink so that the cooler is in a push configuration. The 120 mm fan does not fit in my case with all 4 RAM slots getting taken by RAM with heat spreaders. You will have a hard time using the included 120mm fan in a push position with giant RAM heatspreaders. This CPU cooler can't be beat for the combination of price tag, cooling and volume. Be warned even though...it's large...BIIGGG!

I was impressed with its critiques and high rating against quite a few other high-good quality aftermarket [air] cooling solutions, specifically considering its low value.I have this sitting on a Sandy Bridge i7-2600K, and I am confident it's pulling its fair share of the weight in keeping temperatures so low. FWIW the CPU tends to idle about 25C per core and run below 40C on load so far.I didn't bother putting in the stock heat sink and fan to get a baseline, so I can't offer any "I skilled X degrees change" data. It's large. But I suppose they all are, unless you go with a thing like water cooling [and then have to deal with tubes and radiators and pumps].The fins are honestly like small blades. While I anticipate to -- and from time to time possibly program on -- being cut at least once each and every time I build a machine, some of you may possibly hate that. Just be cautious. The instructions are pretty terrible, in my opinion. I feel it could be substantially much better if the figures accompanying the actions weren't all merged into a single image. It was easier to set up with a second pair of hands, so it may be an annoyance to you if you don't have help. I chose to assemble and attach factors outside of the case, which seemed to make it less complicated, but if your case has the correct cutout below the motherboard you in all probability can nevertheless get this on inside the case.
