Enormous. Looks great. installation isn't that poor (my fiancee helped me do it and she doesn't know anything about computers) Massive. Only comes with one set of fan clips (the cooler can take 4 120mm fans). fans clips are silly. I have an Athlon II 640 Overclocked to 3.6Ghz. At full load it reaches 40c. as soon as i quit prime95 it will drop down to 18c (idle temp) in about 3 seconds. this thing rocks.Keep in mind it is rather huge.

Extremely quiet, utilizing stock fan, and I can't hear it over the program fans (in Element G case).Really low temperatures w/ stock i7 930: Ambient 24c, Idle 32c, Load 57c.Very excellent price for the performance. Too major for my very first case! (NZXT Lexa) Measurements working with tape seems to indicate dimensions do not including MB, needs 7' clearance from bottom of case to side panel (count fan if there is one particular).Fits my Element G case, w 1ǘ' to spare. Side fans that can't be removed might cause incompatibility.Complicated to install (compared to all other heat sinks I've installed).High profile memory will bring about the fan to be placed greater than perfect. How to install: Step 1: Get a buddy, family member, neighbor, random person from the street.Step 2: spot inverted heatsink on table.Step three: add thermal paste to either heatsink or processor.Step four: With mb & processor upside down, cautiously spot on prime of the heatsink.Step 5: Have your helper insert and tighten screws.

This is an exceptional performing heatsink at a excellent cost. The included PWM fan is near silent, and is as superior as my Nexus Genuine-Silent 120mm case fans. In other words, there is no will need to swap out the included fan as any improvement would be so minute as to not justify the cost. I am operating a low voltage AMD 235e processor fanless with this heatsink. Temps are nonetheless outstanding. Significant, heavy, might make your case loose some of the femininity that you instilled right after installing stickers and pulsating pink LED fans. Take your time for the duration of install. I very recommend that you eliminate everything from the motherboard, and use electrical tape to fasten the rear mount plate on the motherboard for alignment. Location the heatsink upside down on your table, and then align the motherboard on leading of the heatsink. You ought to be in a position to get proper alignment and install in less than five minutes. If you try to install this thing inside your case ( even if it has a cutout on the motherboard panel) you will be asking for frustration.

Keeps my Phenom II 955 (OC to three.86GHz) idling at 24-26C, Load about 44C. Massive. Quiet. Pwm fan means can be controlled by Motherboard BIOS/Speedfan. Truly Major...? This is a big cooler, that's where it gets the incredible performance from. Before you choose 1 up, check the dimensions to make certain it will fit in your board. Shouldn't be a challenge for most standard (ATX) size Boards or instances but much better to be secure than sorry.

Bought 3-21-11Definitely amazed, I have a Athlon II X3 that unlocked to a (Deneb) Phenom II x4 w L3 cache but I couldn't strain test it for more than a couple seconds before computer would freeze or crash with temps going over 70c. AMD tech support says max operating temp is 75c. With this cooler my idle temps went from 38-41c average idle to 28-30c, typical day-to-day temp (like writing this review) 31c; strain testing for 1hr 45min max temp reached 42c.This cooler totally covers the 40mm AMD die with room to spare on all sides. (Most coolers will only cover a small region of the AMD 40mm chips.)Permits for superior contact pressure and the cooling capacity is just awesome, stock fan at 100% is dead silent but blows like an AC. (Can be utilised without fan.)I'm just so impressed, this will work on Intel 1156 & 1366 chips of course will more than cover the AMD 6 cores and almost certainly the Bulldozer chips.Good warranty, and client support (ordered ex fan clips) totally free shipping!Extremely recomme None!I hate to see a product like this get negative evaluations by people today who have no business utilizing a DIY product of any kind. You'll read complaints on how difficult it is to install by folks with so named "High or Somewhat High" tech levels, it's ashame. If you are not capable of altering your own vehicle tire you do not will need to use this product or any on this web page. NewEgg is a Do It Your self supplier, these parts will not magically seem on your Computer just mainly because you get one. And they DO NOT deserve negative evaluations mainly because of your incompetence or lack of mechanical skill. This cooler in particular is not complicated to install by any indicates, it may possibly call for some thought but most people today will have no concerns what so ever installing this. (Requires employing of a Phillips head screwdriver!!) For my fellow Americans who have difficulty with size conversions: This is four" x 5 1ǚ" across the leading, five fiveǞ" from base to top of cooling fins (add 1ǚ" for heat pipe caps). Weight is about 1 1ǚlbs.Installation is not difficult, attach mounting clips to to HS, location HS on a table and put mother on top of HS insert screws and tighten. Remember pressure is what is vital, thermal material like (Artic Silver 5 or MX4) is only for filling in minute gaps. I suggest the board out strategy placing HS upside down on a table:Ƒ)Make a dry run (just to get a really feel for the assembly approach) making use of tape to hold back plate in location. ƒ) Then apply thermal compound and do one more run (tightening down HS) just to test thermal comp. spread. Ɠ)When you have your thermal spread going absolutely across cpu (very thin), throughly clean CPU and HS then make your final assembly.Finest thermal comp. today is Artic Cooling MX4 but ArticSilver five is nonetheless exceptional! Ideal cooler is this 1 for

I bought this only to compare its performance against the Corsair H50...and actually I had no intent in making use of this in my main personal computer. However, I was pleasantly shocked to find that it actually cools considerably greater than the H50. The H50 would preserve my phenom 965 鳌W) beneath 55c @ 3.7 @ 1.425v and under 65c when overclocked to 3.8 @ 1.5v. The Mugen 2, on the other hand, keeps almost everything under 48c at 3.7 @ 1.425v and under 55c when overclocked to three.8 @ 1.5v. As well, the acoustic properties are much better on the scythe...only the sound of 1 PWM fan that barely revs up verses the dull sound of a pump and a PWM fan. Overall this is just a additional solid performer. I will add, that the addition of a Noctua 140mm fan has further decreased the noise and the temps an additional 1-3c. All of my temps have been gained by means of the use of 24hr prime95 sessions.Continued in other thoughts... Doesn't contain additional than 1 set of fan mounts. And if you are not applied to mounting big heat sinks n I can see exactly where an extra set of hands would be really helpful.Just as a suggestion when you are installing the heat sink; use some masking tape to preserve the bracket in location even though you thread the screws...it makes every little thing a lot a lot easier. I have tried each the H50 and Mugen two in three distinct situations and with many re-seats of the heat sinks. All have yielded temps within 3c of each and every other. The circumstances have been: antec p182, antec p190 and a lian li a05.

Cools Nicely (at very first) Clogs with Dust!Fan mount flimsy It cools nicely (at first), but the fins are so close together that in much less than 2 months dust has collected virtually to the point of blocking air flow via the cooler. Once more, due to the fact of the spacing it is incredibly challenging to blow out with a can of gas. The dust just won't come out.The fan mounts are extremely lightweight and can be really tough to install until you hit on the correct trick. You could be able to in 30 seconds. On the other hand it may possibly take 20 minutes.

Paired with ARCTIC COOLING MX-2, keeps Core i7 930 idle @ 34C and full load just below 60C. Exclusive design makes it possible for the included fan to be mounted on pretty significantly any side of the heatsink, which is quite beneficial when you want to have a precise airflow pattern. Enormous. It would stop the use of DIMMş (using the motherboard GIGABYTE EX58-UD3R) were I to have bought RAM with heatsinks that extend beyond the common DIMM height. Beware.

For the price, this can not be beat. The performance is awesome, -ten degrees typical on amd 1090T. The fan has good airflow, and even at leading speed remains quiet. Incredibly enormous, you will require a friend to help you install it, and a very large case. Also if you have high profile ram it might not be the heat sink for you. This fits and looks fantastic in each the antec 600, and 900 series circumstances.

Good construct top quality. Wouldn't fit my ASRock 870 EXTREME3 AM3 AMD 870 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3. ATX AMD Motherboard. The black base plat would have had to have been cut with a blow torch or some metal saw to get it to fit over that white rectangle about the cpu. What in the globe. Also, WOW: THIS Thing IS HEAVY! So heavy it created me fear that if I got it on it would rip/crack the motherboard, but the holes of course also go into the case, so the case would also bear the weight.Yet another thing I found annoying was the bizarre way in which the fan had to be mounted: this wimpy thin clips, thinner than paper clips, and ugly. Why not just use some screw mounting program so it looks regular and not like some makeshift set up? Weird.

Exactly where to start, the price to performance ratio is basically remarkable at 40 bucks! Core i5-760 stock speeds is sitting comfortably at 32C and never went passed 42C while gaming. I have not overclocked as of yet but I'm specific 4.0GHz will not be an concern with this cpu cooler (full critiques show this as well). FYI the Cooler Master Scout will fit this cpu cooler but the upper side fan can not be installed (lower one can be) since this factor is so big.In conclusion, want a radiator to cool your cpu? Appear no further. The only con (and I do mean the only con) for this cpu cooler is that it's pretty much a 2 individual job to mount on a mobo. You mount the motherboard to this cpu cooler (not the other way around). Fundamentally, be prepared to read the manual, plan ahead and you ought to have no concerns. As of current the general conclusion I got from gamers on an on-line forums was this breakdown of the greatest cpu coolers as "of to date": ş.) THERMALRIGHT SILVER ARROW DUAL14CM (average cost ๛)Š.) Noctua NH-D14 (average expense ๠ishš.) Scythe SCMG-2100 (cost on newegg ุ)As you can see the Scythe SCMG-2100 is regarded as 1 of the finest cpu coolers on the marketplace when it comes to its price to performance ratio. It'll give you four.0GHz on an i5 or i7 no issue. If you want extreme extreme overclocking on air Ɣ.3GHz +) then look at the Thermalright mentioned above. The Noctua NH-D14 is also heavily advised (heard it's less complicated to mount than most cpu coolers). Overall, I highly suggest the Scythe SCMG-2100 for those that want 4.0GHz but do not want to break the bank! If it fits in your case and you're a gamer purchase it.....now.

Seemed to me to be the finest item for the cost on the marketplace as of Oct. 2010. Got a really very good rating on SPCR. You can mount the fan on any of the 4 sides of the heatsink (it's roughly cube-shaped). With two fans (one intake, 1 outrush) on opposite sides, cooling could be legendary. Installation, as others have said, will virtually undoubtedly have to be a two individual job. Try to line this up before planning to install, and you will almost certainly steer clear of frustration. Guidelines are confusing, so read them as a lot of instances as you need to have to make sure you recognize what YOUR setup wants (there are lots of options). My greatest beef with the installation is that, immediately after removing the stock HSF bracket from my motherboard, the screwholes by way of which this product mounted had been WAY larger than the screws provided. Hence, I had to tighten the screws a LOT to guarantee that no sideways sliding would occur. There were no gaskets provided to assist preserve the screws in place, but I don't know if that's an concern with my mobo or with the Scythe. Fit fine in my case, a Gigabyte Triton 180 (which I'm in really like with, BTW. You should get one). I've observed some huge heatsinks, and this 1 is Significant. Having stated that, it fit fine on my Asrock 870 Extreme3 motherboard, although the screwhole concern listed above was worrying to me. Didn't brush against my RAM or anything. The price, though, is very appropriate.

This thing is horrendously huge. I knew to expect something massive, but geez. The factor LOOKS incredibly, really impressive mounted on a motherboard. The fan that is included is so quiet that it isn't even truly audible. This was my priority for this construct, I wanted something trustworthy and quiet. This was the great option. I could not be a lot more pleased, while I secretly worry that it's so heavy the motherboard won't be able to support it hanging off to the side like that, but that's just my own paranoid nature. I have an old LianLi PC65 case that has a removable motherboard tray (which is awesome), I get the massive heat sink mounted on the motherboard which has itself been attached to the motherboard tray. I go to slide the tray into the case and the heatsink doesn't clear the frame! I had to remount the motherboard inside the case frame. Not the coolers fault, but a noteworthy testament to the size of this thing and the importance of measuring points ahead of buying (or in my case, installing outside of the case) AMD Phenom II X6 1060TMSI TwinFrozrII Radeon HD 6870 Corsair 128 GB SSD2x2TB Samsung SpinPoint HDDs8 GB Mushkin Silverline RAM SeaSonic 560W PSU 80+GoldScythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU CoolerModified LianLi PC-65 CaseDual HannsG 25" 2ms Flat Panels

Excellent efficiency and cost. Cooling my AMD Phenom iix4 970 nicely. Employing only the single fan provided and Artic Silver 5 resulted inᚿc-24c idle50c-51c full load / overclocked stable @ 4.0ghz (Prime95 / 5hrs)If I am lucky I will get a couple of degrees cooler when the thermal burns in. I also nonetheless have room to set up a push pull technique with one more fan in the future (fits up to 4 fans). Installation is a discomfort but not impossible if you are performing this by your self. I had to lower the MB onto the heat sink whilst looking via the screw holes to line up. A second pair of hands would of made this significantly less difficult.Only comes with 1 fan clip. Fits in the Cooler Master HAF 912 effortlessly. Working with ASUS M4A88TD-V MB my G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR3 1600 (F3-12800CL8D-4GBRM) barely fits under the heat sink fan. If your ram has big heat sinks you could run into difficulties with the last two slots. As a previous evaluation stated (Joe1917), it doesn't get much superior for cost/performance. My investigation came to the exact same conclusion. See Tom's Hardware "Overclocking on Air" test/review.If you are on a budget and program to overclock get this.

I would recomend I have a 955 at 1.45v 3.9 gets to 41C below heave game load, 43c on prime95 in location tiny 4 hours, idles at 28-33c at my ambient temps. They should sell fan clips in sets of 4 for low cost shipping!!!!!!!I had to use picture wire!push pull slip streams front to back gets my best temp per noise ratio so far.

Keeps a Core i7 930 in the low 40's (don't recall seeing it ᡥ) under full load (coupled with Arctic MX2).Configurable fan location, regrettably in my case there's only one spot it would fit (above the RAM).QUIET. I can't hear the thing at all under my desk, even @ full load and dead silence in the room. Enormous.I would not be able to use RAM with heatspreaders that extend beyond the RAM's circuitboard, as the fan just barely clears my existing sticks (G.SKILL F3-12800CL9T-6GBNQ). It was between this and a couple other identical-price-range other-name CPU coolers. I'm not disappointed that I went with this 1. Installing it was more of a chore than I expected; reading the directions over and over it just wasn't sinking in how to get the fan to attach to the heatsink, but ultimately with a 2nd pair of hands helping it went on no dilemma.

This thing is huge and I think it has been cooling my home down, as nicely as my pc! I purchased this soon after reading a cooler evaluation, at tomshardware.com, and I'm much more than pleased. It could be a little tricky to install for an individual that's not mechanically inclined. As with something, read the directions , pay attention to detail and you'll be fine. (Note: I installed this on a AMD/AM3 motherboard. Each method sort utilizes a unique install approach) When the radiator fails in my automobile, I'll be making use of this in place of it. My house stays rather cool (approx. 70 degress) so I'm sure that helps my method overall. Making use of the built-in temp monitoring software program on my mobo, the CPU comes in at 85 and the mobo at 79-80.

keeps my i7 950 @ 4.2GHZ cool at 40c idle, 55c load with 2 fans in push pull ambient temp at 30c. In no way have to worry about heat. big, had to modify my side panel due to the fact the fan on it produced contact with the cpu cooler when the case was closed. Aslo stock fan could be alot far better but then once again it's geared for noise not performance. mounting was ALOT less difficult than I was led to think. took me less than 3 minutes from taking out the mobo, removing the old cooler, mounting the mugen 2 and then reinstalling the mobo, granting a removable mobo tray saved a ton of time. But even without it, it's a pretty straight forward install.

terrific performing heatsink and looks about as mean and goddy as they come. It is large... Duh! It has to be big... The name of the game is far more surface area, the much better the heat dissipation. The bottom wasn't really flat, I had to lap the surface fairly a bit to achieve excellent contact with CPU. I used two Gelid fans in combo with this heatsink and all I can say is WOW... The surface finish is quite good. A nickle plating over the copper gives a really glossy and lustrous surface finish. On the other hand, My suface wasn't flat at all. About four hours worth of lapping and I finally achieved a flat surface. Added some arctic silver and I have my 1055T processor running at four.8Ghz no difficulties. Max temp so far under load has been 42C... No complaints in the performance location at all!

It's good. massive cooler paired with a single fan (i added a second) is more than able to cool my core i5 2500k o 4.4GHz. With the fan speed set at 47% (700rpm) the temp goes bewteen 40 to 65 on prime95. Not the greatest temps, but i am keeping the fan speed low! and this is in a low flow case. those are acceptable temps i think. if you want hardcore cooling, though, this is probably not for you. Still, for the price point (i got it for 35) it's really goodthe mounting system sucks though. compared to noctua, leaves much to be desired.
