Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: large for most cases

Pros: VERY effective!Fan mounts on any side while facing either way.Clear instructions.
Comment:
This thing is stellar for the price, it's huge and reduced my temps by at least 10c and best of all it's whisper quiet! In my open case vertical setup, since the fan can mount on any side, I have it pushing air up from underneath and it's SO effective!

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: -Big (may not fit in many cases)-Installation was PITA (had to remove mobo)

Pros: -Cools well-Quiet-Solid mounting
Comment:
I keep the stock fan spinning at 500-600 rpm (dead quiet) and it keeps my overclocked Phenom X4 9950 (running at 3.0 GHz) at 36/46 (idle/load). Increasing the fan speed to max is still reasonably quiet and drops the temperatures to 29/37. I've read that using a push/pull fan configuration gives stellar results...may try that later.Installation was a pain as it required removing the motherboard from the case (not an issue for a new build)A great cooler for someone who values quiet components.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: Size.

Pros: Quiet, and a beastly heatsink.
Comment:
I bought this heatsink 3 days ago to replace a dinky stock Intel cooler, and it's exceeded my expectations. So much so I decided to get off my lazy arse and actually write a review. Although this heatsink isn't the most expensive it feels well made for the cost. The only flimsy parts are the fan clips, so just take care not to bend them. But once their attached they feel pretty solid. Other than that I have no complaints, just make ABSOLUTELY sure this heatsink will fit in your case, it's MASSIVE, things 850g of badassery afterall. It fits perfectly in my Antec 300 Mid tower with a P55A-UD3 mobo, just enough space on all sides. I have the fan orientated facing backwards (That's the only way the fan fits as to not obstruct the RAM or graphics card) but it ended up working perfectly so the heatsink fan is assisted by the back fan; so it draws even more air through the fins now. Now for the good part. Before my i3 540 would run 40c 100% loaded at 3.2 Ghz overclocked. It's now at 18-20c 100% loaded at the same speed (prime 95)! And it gets better, at 3.45Ghz with the stock cooler it used to run 74-78c per core under load, it's now down to no more than 45c! That's a drop  of at least 30c or more. I was blown away. Before I felt uncomfortable leaving it at 3.45 because of the temps, now i have it at 3.45 normally and OC to 3.8 if I wish with room to spare. The only other complain I have is this cooler isn't 100% copper. But hey it's 45 bucks. 5 stars from me. Just be damn sure it'll fit in your case.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: Appears to be easily damaged when shippedSo large as to have motherboard compatability issues

Pros: Quality PWM fanObviously lots of surface air to be a good cooler
Comment:
Bought this with a PC I had NCIX assemble for me. It appears that the heatsink bent during shipping ( understandable)... Not compatible with MSI P55a-G55 as it interferes with the DIMM slots ( heat spreaders on Ram are too tall), you cannot fit a push fan on the ram without hitting the Ram when configured so that the widest portion is North South. North South configuration interferes with PCI-E 1 slot ( may just fit the card if the Heat Sink is installed level but I doubt it). I know this is an excellent heat sink as per all the great reviews and I've used the PWM fan before with great success. Just make sure you don't have it installed before shipping a system and be sure to have a motherboard around to measure to make sure it will fit! I won't knock it for my lack of foresight. Would totally use this if I had a compatible MOBO.

Cons: -It's HUGE-No clips to install 2nd fan (can be expensive to buy)

Pros: -Quiet-Cool-Price
Comment:
I bought this based on many reviews online and I am very happy with it. As long as you have a case that can fit it, I'd recommend.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: Huge.

Pros: Quiet and works great.
Comment:
This heatsink is huge, be wary when purchasing and make sure it'll fit inside your case. It works great though, it's very quiet and gets the job done. The instructions kind of suck but it's not too hard to figure out how to mount it.

Comment:
I'm very happy with this purchase. I idle around 21 and am under 45 when under load. I threw a 120mm and 80mm noctua on this and it's deadly quiet.PMs pretty cheaply

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: Mounting.Block not copper:(

Pros: Performance. Quality.
Comment:
This cooler is beastly. Both in size and performance. Price match this and you will have a excellent aftermarket cooler to replace those crappy Intel stocks. I wish the block was copper, though--and some ridges would do good too. MX-3 did not spread itself well, perhaps the tim it came with is better? Otherwise this cooler is great. Way better than H12 after a price match.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: huge and heavytricky install

Pros: coolingpriceclears ram slotsflexible fan mountingquiet
Comment:
This cooler is very good for the price. It cools my AMD 1090T X6 very well and does it quietly. The fan can be mounted any 4 sides of the heat sink so fan placement is flexible. Mounting is a little tricky as you have to install a back plate on the motherboard. Also the heatsink is high enough to clear installed ram but it does cover the ram slots so you have to install your ram first. All in all, very good performance for the price.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons: Poor instructions and mounting kit

Pros: Excellent coolingSupports 1-4 fans depending on configuration
Comment:
The scythe is a great performance cooler and doesn't carry as high a price tag as a Megahalems or Venemous X but offers nearly the same cooling. It's really big, so make sure your case can fit it.One downside- installation is a pain (slightly better than the original Mugen II) and Scythe's instructions are terrible as usual. Make sure you know what you're doing.

Scythe SCMG-2100 Sleeve CPU Cooler
Cons:I have never installed anything other than stock heatsink but this one seemed like the installation process could be much better. You will have to remove MOBO srew heatsink in place from behind the motherboard. I found it tricky to align everything properly to screw heatsink in place.

Pros:It does what its meant to do and does it well. I bought an AMD x2 550 callisto CPU and found that after unlocking all 4 cores worked just fine. Lucky me but of course things would heat up a bit. With this heatsink temps went from ~30C idle to ~18C (ya it about room temp...). Under load with Prime95 torture test overnight the temps never went above 40C! Have not really overclocked but it seems like there is a lot of room to maneuver here.
Comment:
Good price. Great performance. Tricky install (Minus one star for the install).Tom's hardware had a review/comparison on this one at the end of Jan 2010.
