No noticable improvement more than 3/gs drives. None, nonetheless alive Tried an SSD and no huge deal either, appear unstable, crashed several instances. So I nevertheless believe HD's are the way to go.

Gb/s interface for low value. 1TB of space for less than ten cents/GB.... only a 32MB cache, but not sufficient to shed an egg over... in particular for the price Impressed so far with the performance of this drive. Loading Windows 7 on this drive verses the preceding SATA 3Gb/s 72k drive takes much less than half the time.... the only bottleneck now is my dvd-rw drive...

Comment: Have owned several Seagate Baraccuda's. Not sure why I keep buying them, because they seem to die at around the 3 year mark. With SSD's out, these are great for additional storage/backup considering the amount of GB you get for the price.

The readwrite speed is noticably slower compared to a black drive, but considering the price, its the best choice for storage.

Bo Rating: Review Date: 04/09/12	Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Comment: None. Stay away from these drives. The name Seagate should have been my 1st warning. I have to atleast give seagate 1 egg. They each show up in the bios, but 1 will not format and the other a single will perform on and off. It perform for a handful of minutes then drag and come to a stopping halt, then start off back working. Will be undertaking a rma these days. I have not gotten about to it, as I have been busy with function, but I will in no way give seagate one more chance.Will be sticking with samsung from right here on out.

Letitia Rating: Review Date: 03/23/12	Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" SATA 6.0Gb/s Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive Comment: Great price tag to storage ratio I know these are low-cost, but the specs said 6Gb/s capable and I'm not seeing anywhere close to that. Purchased two and produced a raid and only receiving 236 MB/s...thats 1.8Gb/s. The typical I got from HD Tune 2.55 was 183 MB/s. I have an Infinity gaming MB, and am plugged into the 6GB sata ports with the enhanched support turned on in the BIOS. Windows performace test rated this setup as five.9, the very same as my old Core two Duo with a single five year-old 7200 RPM HD. I was all excited to set up my 1st RAID method, but these speeds were a huge dissapointment. If I had recognized how slow it was going to be I would have just moved my old challenging drives out of my old method.

None Only time will tell but these drives seem very first rate.
