Comment: The price on sale was super for 1tb and of course I trust this brand as I have several Seagates running as I do other brands. I like Seagate still as I do other brands and this drive offers a decent quietness that I really like plus it works slaps in most/all NAS devices with no fussing which I'm using it in!

It's actually quite fast for an HDD. No issues whatsoever, although I also have the 7200.11 version and had to RMA it twice in 2 months.So far so good.

I bought it as an OS drive. Same speed but 12x bigger. I won't use it for storage (music & Fraps videos) until I can afford a Corsair Force GT 60GB SSD. I can't give 5 stars because of the fact it's an OEM drive with a high failure rate (Firmware related). Make sure you up update the firmware. That should solve the bricking problem. That said, it's a great deal and I'd buy another for RAID 0 or 1.

Its great for a budget build if you dont want to spend more money for a ssd. I might buy another one and set it up for raid 0 for better performance. Overall I would recommend it for anyone.

Pros:Decent speed Comment: This is a very good inexpensive data drive. I've used them for a while hooked up to SATA2 connectors and did see a bit of improvement when I switched one over to the native sata3 connector on the Intel P67 boards. The drive simply runs quiet and fast, no matter what interface it's hooked up to. I've got 3 of these in a spanned volume on my new windows home server machine and couldn't be happier.My only knock against it is this isn't an SSD! Meaning don't go expecting huge speed improvements just because it's suddenly a SAta3 hard drive. I will definitely be purchasing more of these in the future, so take that as 2 thumbs up from me.

Runs quiet (have it in an external enclosure at the moment) sitting about three ft from my ear and can\'t hear it at all, also doesnt get extremely hot. packaging, also I could have thrown away the sata cables or they dont come with it... not enough to remove an egg though

It's not as quiet as the 250 GB 7200.10 drive that this replaced, but faster and roughly as cool-running. In terms of noise, it's mainly some low clicky HDD noises whenever it accesses data.
