it functions as well loud, had to set my process volume someplace at 3% and winamp volume at 1-three%. Not really a huge deal but it tends to make it tougher to use my keyboard's volume buttons properly. Didn't try with microphone. tried on a Dell E1705 laptop w/ Windows 7 32 bit

Purchased this for the apparent purpose of not wanting to have to use yet a different port/jack on my personal computer. Had it plugged into a USB hub and it worked properly for the time that I needed it. It lasted longer than my speakers, which is why I don't truly require it anymore (it never broke). None

I own two sets of Fatality Pro headsets which work great with XP but not with Win 7 as the mini plugs wouldn't function for some reason. I contacted Inventive and they did ZERO for me following many weeks of banter. I discovered this by accident and VOILA, I now have my two pair of headsets back. Fantastic product! Thanks for generating this. none so far

Low-cost, little and operates superior. None! Does just what I wanted it to do. Get audio out of my laptop. Kept a single in my backpack and one on my desk to "dock" the laptop. I just plug a single USB connector into the laptop which is connected to a hub with this device and everything else. Operates excellent!

It works as well or far better than the original adapter I got with the headphones. Seems to be a significantly much more sturdy built piece also. Sound high quality does not appear to be affected in any negative way. I use mine with a PLANTRONICS GameCom 777 3.5mm/ USB Connector Circumaural Surround Sound Gaming Headset as a replacement portion after mine stopped operating mysteriously. It is too wide to take up just one particular usb slot on the computer itself, I deferred its placement to my usb hub on the end slot. Seems to be a low priced, high quality portion.

Well, I have an IBM server utilizing for testing purposes and I required to watch videos, as well. This device also functions on 2008 Server R2 which. It's great, due to the fact this is basically the least expensive answer due to the fact I didn't want to waste the limited PCI slots. None really. I just required to hear the audio.

Works just as expected - plug it in, recognized by OS X without any driver matters at all None at all. Employing this on an MSI Wind for headphone output under OS X. There are techniques to use the built-in jack, but much a lot easier to just plug the usb dongle in rather of jumping by means of hoops to alter the output.

This little nugget is operating perfectly with my G5 and Leopard, for simple voice chat functionality. I keep it attached to my ū headset and do almost everything I would with a USB mike costing 3 times additional.Plug&play works surprisingly well, I can have Skype open, plug in the adapter, and everything immediately functions appropriate. Maintain in thoughts it is a rather massive dongle. Typically not a problem at the front port of a Mac Pro / G5, but will take extra space in crowded ports.Certainly the excellent doesn't reside up to professional audio boards.

Functions just as it really should. I couldn't adjust the volume on my old bluetooth earpiece in my PS3 settings, but now I can go all the way from 1 to 5. Not free of charge. Just gave me static for a while at 1st, until I realized that my mic wasn't plugged in all the way.Lots of individuals complained about not becoming in a position to play game audio by way of their headsets, but I didn't want to anyways. I heard grumblings about it taking up two USB ports, but I had no such complications on my PS3.

Works like intended, has fairly great sound good quality to be honest, and im speaking from encounter. I have each mic and headphones (using a headset) plugged in at the same time and i get no interference with every single other. It does take up a usb port or two if you have it subsequent to 1 or in between a couple, the only reason i gave it fourǛ is cause of that.

Can replace as broken jack without going inside a machine. Sound excellent on the output is far inferior to motherboard based sound, not just a little worse. I, as opposed to any other reviewers I read, needed the input as well, only about once a month. I could by no means have the input and output plugged in at the similar time with no a horrendous buzz. Individually they worked ok, but having to pull 1 to use the other just wont work. It appears to be limited to fundamental sound output for a broken laptop jack.

Got this so I could use a non usb headset on my PS3, So far it functions perfectly and sounds good. Top quality of speaker and mic are best. It's output volume appears a bit high, but I have a volume manage on my headset so I just adjusted the volume of that. I haven't attempted this out on my PC yet due to the fact I don't definitely have a cause for it on my PC.

* works fine in Linux.* no added cables. * not as compact as it could be. My laptop has vertical USB ports, and this thing sticks out a bit, which signifies that if I put the laptop on a table, one side of the laptop will sit on this USB adapter.* annoying green light often blinking* Quite LOUD. At the lowest setting achievable above zero, I still have to turn the player volume to about 30% to get a reasonable volume.* High latency. When watching movies, I from time to time have to adjust the audio-video sync by up to 100ms. I bought this because my Lenovo Thinkpad T400 laptop's built in audio has noise / distortion on low frequencies at particular volumes. For the cost, this is an OK item. It works fine for music, though for movies or games you may well want to look for something with superior latency.I have not tested the mic input. On Linux, you could have to jump by means of extra hoops to get applications to share this device. It seems ALSA doesn't mix sound by default for this device. (This implies that you can only hear sound from one application.) But this is not a hardware problem. This device is not superior at power saving. Even if nothing is playing, powertop shows up to 200 wakeups per second from this device. I'm not positive if this is a software or hardware dilemma.lsusb output:Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0d8c򍦨 C-Media Electronics, Inc.ALSA sees this as:C-Media USB Audio Device

This usb audio device is very loud and clear, the sound excellent is vastly better from the inboard audio on any laptop. I highly recomend this product and it is a considerably better worth than the creative usb audio device. The cons: this item is very fraglie and the case has a tendancy to break with just a slight bump. A good product but be cautious when you have it attached to your laptop and travel about. see above

Excellent price. Fastest plug n play ever. The good quality is decent, but nowhere near any onboard audio I've utilized. This is a fantastic device if your onboard sound dies as mine on my Asus P5B did. But if you want top excellent sound, preserve seeking!

Plugs appropriate into the face of the PS3 and doesn't block the other USB port. Not requiring any drivers is what sets this small adapter apart from several other people in regards to PS3 compatibility. I have because bought a bluetooth device, but this worked wonderful from the time I bought my PS3 to the time I got a correct headset device. To be honest I didn't see or notice any. People today speak about the blinking light factor, but that's being nit-picky. I only upgraded to a bluetooth device because my pc headset allowed only 6ft of movement and not because the device or my pc headset wouldn't function or the performance of which was poor. Absolutely absolutely nothing poor about this product...I would highly suggest for everyone needing a great solid adapter for their PS3.

The device is affordable, and performs exactly as advertised. It's simple functionality is fine. The audio it outputs is really high, so considerably so that I had to set the method volume (Vista) to 3 of 100 for a comfortable volume level. The mfg was not able to supply a diverse driver for the device. I was able to find a device for a comparable device based on C-Media. This driver corrected the issue. It's disappointing that I could not get this issue resolved through the mfg. Immediately after the hassle of looking by means of the web for a compatible, virus-cost-free driver to resolve the excessive sound issue, I am now pleased with the acquire - if not the tech support.
