What can I say, 20$ for an 8 ports gigabit switch, it's a cheap as it can get! I remember paying 35$ a couple of years back for the same thing and it was a killer price then!

Cons:- None

Pros:- Price is reasonable

This is a decently priced gigabit switch that gets the job done, isn't really much more to say about it. It works and the computers seem to recognize that it is a gigabit switch.

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:- NOT 802.3 COMPLIANT since V3.0 for specific cable setups

Pros:- Cheap- Works fine.
Comment:
For the price, those are really some of the best switches you can get, the metal casing also makes them interesing for rough environments. The only downside I found is that the chipset used by Trendnet for the newer V3 (compared to the V1) does not respect IEEE 802.3 Part 3, especially for setups that only have 2 pairs of wire (orange/green) available on a 4 pair wire (it must work according to p137 of the PDF located at http://standards.ieee.org/getieee802/download/802.3-2008_section2.pdf).This setup does not work with those switches on distances longer than 30 feet.Though I admit this is a bit esoteric, other high-end switches (netgear, cisco) do work flawlessly.

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:There are seriously no cons for this product, It's amazing!

Pros:Truly is 1Gbps as advertisedI have used this switch for quite some time now without ANY issues. It's never been unplugged for restarted in the seven months I've owned it.
Comment:
I needed a switch to extend my wired network into my server room, 3 of the 5 machines were gigabit connections and I didn't want to bottleneck my speeds by using a crappy switch so I bought this, and I've never been more impressed by a switch of this size in my life..

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:none

Pros:Works great, has holes for easy wall mounting as well as rubber feet, unit is heavy, so the many network cables wont pull it off the desk.
Comment:
I bought two of these switches for a home network setup, they worked right away with no issues. The yellow or green coloured lights indicating fast or gigabit ethernet connections is very handy. At the sale price this switch is a very good value.

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:-none so far

Pros:-fast-solidly built-plenty of ports for home/soho needs
Comment:
A nice switch, with a hefty metal case. Previous revisions had a third row of status LEDs, but this 2.0R revision combines the functions into two rows, which slightly reduces the geek-factor in favour of lowering the power consumption. It includes some stick-on feet, which and while they're not quite as impressive as an older D-Link design which used double-sided feet to stack multiple units together tidily and securely, they will certainly do the job. The switch has screw-slots on the bottom that allow it to be wall-mounted in three orientations: facing up, down or to the left. This is somewhat odd as the only air vents are on the left and right sides of the case - so to allow the best convective cooling, the switch would have to be mounted with the indicators facing to the left and the patch cables plugging in on the right, slightly limiting where it can be placed. There are two screws on the bottom of the case which appear to allow access to the internals - perhaps to allow removing accumulated dust. Finally, the included power adapter is fairly narrow, and shouldn't block two sockets on most surge protectors unless you're plugging it in beside another wall-wart. There is an alternate model (TEG-S80DG) which has an internal PSU if that's more suitable for your needs. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-09-11 06:58 PM

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:Green :)

Pros:Fast, reliable, small, price
Comment:
For $25, take your PCs and connect them to this GB switch and transfers between them will change. That 100MB switch on your wireless router just isn't fast enough for internal transfers. For those who transfer movies or large files from one machine to another, get a GB switch!

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None so far.

Pros:Heavy, not plastic enclosure. Very solid.
Comment:
Great deal at $25 including free shipping. The switch is very heavy metal and feels very solid, unlike another switch I have which is lightweight flexible plastic. Uses at most 3.5 watts according to the manual. That is great for low power consumption, too.

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Pros:-8 ports-Good speeds-Great price
Comment:
I got this for $20 (ASTOUNDING price!) to fix up my network setup. I originally had 3 computers, so a router could handle that. Then as I got more I added a 100mbit 5-port switch and connected my least important computers to it. And then when I ran out of those ports, I got another... and another. It was starting to get quite bad, since I had to waste ports interconnecting them all. I also noticed performance when connecting through multiple switches, so I decided to upgrade them all when these came on sale. Now I've got an RT-N16 (4x Gigabit Ports + 1x Gigabit WAN) connected to two gigabit switches, depending on which part of the home they're servicing. Between the router and switches, roughly 12 ports are used. Everything is a lot faster now that the bottleneck is at gigabit speeds and I don't have three or four of them chained in a row.

Cons:none

Pros:Easy to usesmall8 ports
Comment:
This is exactly what it says it is, nothing more. It is a "dumb" switch so there is nothing software to setup, you just add this to your router and get and extra 7 ports. I have this paired with a 10/100 router, and put all my computers with gigabit NIC's on the switch, and I can enjoy 100+MB/s file transfers between computers.I also received free shipping when this was on sale with a promotion.
