TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:AC adapter/wall wart is tiny but still takes up too much room on the power bar.
Pros:Cheap when on sale o $25. Fast, small, well built. Comment:
All metal outer casing and works as advertised. Hard to beat when on sale at $25.I wanted Gigabit for some devices but didn't want or have a need to upgrade my Wifi G router... So I just bought this device. Using 1 port as uplink to the router leaves me 7 Gigabit ports for my devices and another three 100Meg on my Wifi router. All good! |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:LEDs confused -- bad unit? Two ports don't light up at all (but still work at GigE), and the others light up LEDs okay but for the wrong port numbers.
Pros:Metal case, very low power consumption, 8-ports, and cheap(!) on sale! Comment:
Still love the switch, hoping to get a good one (working LEDs) from RMA. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
None. This switch is a great buy, even if not on sale. It isn't often you can say that!
Pros: Runs cool, well built, performs well, priced well. Comment:
I have two of these switches, one bought from a four letter competitor and one from NCIX. I bought the second as I was so pleased with the first. Network performance is the same as my old D-Link 8-port, occasionally reaching over 100 MB/s during huge file transfers. I have not measured the power consumption but it is surely much lower than the D-Link as there is nearly no heat generated.Five stars for sure! |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:

Pros: price! price! price!stable! stable! stable! Comment:
i already own a 16 port gigabit layer 2 plus smart switch from hp, this Trendnet TEG-S80G unmanaged gigabit "dumb" switch indeed helped me to resolve a big issue.we are running a proof of concept with two dell servers, the switch is a linksys 24 port fast ethernet switch, therefore the bandwidth is not sufficient for our demo to the management, I grabbed this little box and had two dell servers connected to Trendnet gigbabit first then uplink to the fast ethernet linksys, the bandwidth between two servers has been good enough for the demo, and it has been no issue since. |

Pros: Cheap, small physical size, green features Comment:
This is my first gigabit switch so I can't comment on how fast/efficient this is versus other similar switches, but it is allowing file transfers 5x faster between computers on the lan.Still need to play with jumbo frame settings to get the most out of this switch, but first impressions are good so far. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
none to speak of
Pros: price, 8 ports, gigabit Comment:
I picked this up last week, on sale for $30. Just upgraded a portion of my network to CAT6 gigabit, and this switch is doing its job wonderfully. Doesn't get hot, it's silent, and it handles 8 machines. I did notice it was a bit heavy, but you aren't exactly going to be moving it around much, and it's only heavy for its size. |
2 Seconds to Install...Done. Instant Gigabit Switch that is made of metal...and has a nice small footprint. The Wall Wart was also nice in that it installs with the plug meaning that it doesn't take up 2 plugs on my power surge bar like some.
