TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
None.
Pros: Solid, simple, energy efficient, metal case, compact, runs fairly cool. Comment:
It's just a switch but I like the simplistic, minimalist design and solid quality. Runs fairly cool and is compact. I decided not to go with dlink because they are larger and plastic. I've since purchased the 5 port model also. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
a tad heavy
Pros: metal chassis, plug and play, 5 year warranty, sale price Comment:
This looks pretty nice for a cheap network switch, but it's a tad on the heavy side due to the metal chassis. It runs fairly cool and is easy to setup.Comes with a 5 year warranty for $29.99, a pretty good deal if you ask me.I eventually exchanged the 5 port version for this. |

Cons:
None so far.
Pros: Does everything it's supposed to do, and does it well. Comment:
Picked this up on a great sale to help the development of my home network. Quite pleased with the speed post router this manages. Hoping later to use up a few more ports to see how good this can really be. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
Went on sale the day after I bought it :)
Pros: Metal casePlug it in and go Comment:
Worth it at regular price. I got it the day before it went on sale. Runs well, not troubles with any equipment that I have hooked up to it so far. I used it to replace an older gigabit switch that only had 5 ports. I would buy this again as I have had really good luck with trendnet products over the last several years. Every time I wander to a mainstream networking vendor I end up coming back to trendnet products. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
Its not exactly pretty.
Pros: CheapFasthassle freePower efficient Comment:
I used this to boost speeds between PC's on a network and it does just that. 4 times faster then a 10/100 on my network as I am not using RAID but from 11MB/s to 40MB/s is a big boost when installing programs from one PC to another. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:
None
Pros: SmallEfficient Comment:
Very good switch. I don't usually get TrendNet due to past shoddy construction but reviews of this switch has been very positive, so I gave TrendNet another go. Glad I did, this is small, efficient and works as specified. Didn't test Jumbo frames yet. Very good value compared to other gigabit switches. |

Replaced an old 10/100 switch, installation is a breeze. Auto-sense cable length for power adjustment. Didn't try to measure wattage consumption, but it's working so far! |

Pros: metal case, power saving, Comment:
I connected this to my roommates router and don't notice much difference but that may be because his cableing isn't 1000 compatibleIt is supposed to save power but I haven't measured thisthere is no configuration needed with this and no features like a built in firewall |

Bad Power Supplies
Comment:
2 Strikes and you're out TrendNet! I purchased 1 of these and the first arrived DOA. Would not power on at all. Returned it and received replacement and when it was plugged in the power supply burned out in about 2 days. Can't say I will buy another TrendNet product...poor construction. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None that I've experienced so far..
Pros:Tiny!Sturdy construction; feels solid."Green" active power management. Comment:
Great little switch. I was amazed at how small it was compared to my WRT54GL. It's roughly half the size and half as thick too!Made of very solid-feeling metal. Simple to set-up (though, really, it should never be complicated.. just plug in cables.. done.)Still cool to the touch, though I haven't done a great deal of transferring with it yet.Excellent value at regular price, even better value for the sale price I got it at. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None Seen.
Pros:Cheap but Works! Comment:
Plugged in my connections, (both gigabit and 10MBps) powered on the switch and it works. Gigabit connections transferred fast and I haven't seen any connections being dropped. Transfers between gigabit and 10 Mbps connection worked as well. Only using 5 ports, so I haven't tested it to it full capability. But so far, so good. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:-None
Pros:-Cheap-Reliable-Fast-Cheap, heh Comment:
I got this switch to link my PC to my backup server and I am extremely satisfied. Despite one of the two NICs being quite old (i975P from a P4C800-E Deluxe) and my cables only being cat5e, I still get transfer speeds that alternate between 57 and 60MB/s..If you don't need 8 ports but want the speed, don't hesitate and get the 5 ports version that is great value. great product |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None to report thus far
Pros:Quiet and energy efficient switch. Turns off unused ports as it claims. Comment:
Purchased this switch on sale at an excellent price. Was thorougly impressed with the shipping speed / time from NCIX. Ordered this switch on a Monday afternoon and had it to my front door by Wednesday at 3 pm....amazing!Switch performs exactly as advertised. No problems setting it up and am very pleased that it shuts and powers down ports when not in use. I have noticed the LED's changing status when machines are idle on the network.Price was excellent (when on sale for around 30 dollars) and the shipping was amazing (as usual)...thanks NCIX. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:none that I can think of.
Pros:no problems setting it up.low power? (never really tested this) Comment:
been using it for about a month now. never gave me any problems yet. pretty straight forward to connect stuff to it since it is an unmanaged gigabit switch. got 6 devices plus a pfsense router connected to it and running continously. everything runs smooth and doesn't even gets warm. |

Best deal for what I needed
Comment:
This switch works as advertised. I have several computers with 1gb ethernet and those units run at 1gb, while other devices that are on the switch are running at 100mb. I had read some reviews of other 1gb switches that had a problem, the switch ran at the slowest connection speed, not so with this switch. Excellant buy. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None apparent
Pros:Reliable, fast, solid Comment:
This was my first Trendnet purchase and I was pleasantly surprised. It feels solid and doesn't get dragged off the desk by the cables. I have all ports used and it seems to manage power well; doesn't get hot and yet has been very reliable with gigabit connectivity in the house. |

I Recommend TrendNet
Comment:
I use this with the TrendNet N wireless router and I have to say I am very pleased with the performance. This little switch is a workhorse.. I've had it at or near full capacity on several occasions with a few servers doing huge file swaps and no problems. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:none
Pros:Simple setup, metal case, runs cool Comment:
Fairly cheap 8 port gigabit with RoHs and energy efficient. Home network expanding and this was ideal for the extra ports. Runs cooler than my DLink Green Power 8-port, may have to pick up a couple more to replace older network gear I have. |

TRENDnet TEG-S80G 10/100/1000Mbps GREENnet Switch
Cons:None so far
Pros:cheap, gigabit, jumbo frames Comment:
Cheapest switch i could find with gigabit and jumbo frame support, this is going to a new country side network whith not much use and the "green power regulation" is probably going to help somewhat..(sounds gimmicky but why hey, it's green!) |
Exceptional value for the money and highly recommended.Runs cool (unlike the 5port it replaced) and looks great (just a box. Minimalist attractive!
