Well, this was a disappointing purchase. I bought one to transfer important files from my HP Pavilion WinXP computer to a new Pavilion with Vista (no choice on O/S!). I never could get this to work. All the lights would come on, it would LOOK like it was going to do something, but never got the transfer screen ever. I tried all kinds of ways, plugging in the Tornado in different order, etc. So, my new Tornado is sitting in the drawer, mocking me paying out money to make a file transfer easier! Ha! Much better to make a mirrored copy on an external hard drive. This was a product that I just cannot recommend.

This is a great tool for anyone who has multiple pc's or is a technician. It's an easy drag and drop interface that makes transferring large or small amount's of data between pc's. I highly recommend this product and get them while there on sale.

K from PA is incorrect, this product works flawlessly when connected between my XP Pro (32 bit) and my Vista Home Premium (64 bit) computers. Throughput was only about 6MB/s though, nowhere near the 25MB/s claimed by the manufacturer. However, the old XP Box is only running a 1.0GHz CPU so that might be part of the reason for mediocre speed.

I'm crazy about this product. I had some questions and had no problem getting in touch with one of the developers (very cool yes?) who took me through my situation step by step. Have needed it several times since I got it 2 years or so ago. Worked fine with my XP system fyi. Actually going to use it in a few minutes again.....excellent product period. Liz Dobbs

Does what it says it will do. Made task of resetting computer easy. Just copied files out and put them back.

using the Tornado was probably the fastest and easiest way I have ever been able to transfer files from one computer to another. The other thing was that I saved 20$ by ordering from here!

I gave my friend my old XP Home Cmptr to replace his Win 98 SE HP. While looking for transfer cables on the internet I found The Tornado. I feel like I struck gold. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I hooked it up and it worked just like it is described. All my friends are borrowing it to transfer their files. Its Great!

I just purchased a 64 bit pc - thought this would be a breeze to transfer data from one computer to the new one - does not support 64 bit Vista or XP for that matter - so if this is one reason you were going to buy this - forget it and just do it the old fashioned way.

I hooked it up -plug in USB cable- to a computer 10 feet away using a 12 ft USB cable with a signal booster. It showed This Computer and Other Computer on both monitors, allowing us to copy & paste 500mb folders in just a few seconds. Well worth 25.00 sale price ( 49.00 list price) and it was sitting on my front porch the next day. The Tornado is really a Ten. Mike Fleming

Everything everyone has written is true. The oval shaped plastic Blue & Silver Tornado is another treat. I glowy light circulates behind it as files are being moved and a diodes make it look like it's spining...and when files are done moving it makes a tornado-y sucking noise on either computer. It also has that cool retractable button placed nicely on the top of the case. And the cables are not cheesey. Yep! Everyone NEEDS one. You just didn't know it until you use it.

I used this cable to transfer files from laptop to PC to netbook and it works great. No hassles in connecting it up and getting it recognized to transfer files. Easiest way to share data between computers that I have found. Highly recommended.

Worked as advertised - as soon as both computers are connected to the Tornado the 2 windowed explorer recognises. Very quick transfer rate, much faster than expected. Shipped well packaged - no complaints.

I have used the cable about 20 times to transfer data for friends and myself. Every time it works like a champ. This cable makes moving data from one machine to another a Snap. Its so simple a Caveman could use it.

I'm giving my old laptop to my Mom. This has required moving a bunch of files from one computer to another (and another, etc.). This Product was so easy to use that I (40 yrs old and not born with a silver nintendo in my fist) was able to explain it easily to my mom, who views computers as useful but dangerous creatures whose care and feeding should be left to others. She even admitted that it was kind of nifty the way the program kept track of which computer was "this computer" and which computer was "the other computer" regardless of what computer you were looking at at the time. Personally, I thought it saved a heck of a lot of time and energy. It seems like a virtual FTP, for folks to whom that would make sense. Just need A USB port at each computer, and off you go.
