Performance and functionality Excellent of fan. It went wobbly in a single year and now creating heck of a sound. I want to replace it just for the fan. Else, really feel otherwise a fantastic product why would some 1 place a poorly made fan.Can I transform the fan separated off the assembly. I don't see that possibility. Hence a huge weakness in the design.Unless you have a clean industrial setup, this fan could fail. Have to make the design such that the most failing moving parts can be changed rapidly and modular. Manufacturer Response:Hello samc,Thermaltake can replace just the fan on this unit for you. Functions fantastic, and appears good if you have a clear side panel. the fan assembly feels a tiny fragile, so be careful not to squeeze it too tough on the fins. when installed, it cools cpu way much better than any stock cooler, and hey, thats the point of using any right after market place cooler right?

Quite great. my Phenom X6 1055T oced idles at 29c and hits 40 on load. Incredibly great cooler. Throw in a little Arctic silver five and its very good to go. None so far. It came in and i spent two hours trying to get it seated into an AM3 socket. In the end, i discovered out it was so loose since i didnt twist the tiny lever all the way

Installed on a Q9550 on a DFI Bloodiron P35-T2RL. Stock cooling on the Q9950 was awful so I replaced it with the Thermaltake. Temps dropped from 48-50 C to 35-37 C idle in a warm area even though OC'd to 3.1. All copper style Extremely large, could only match in my case horizontally. somewhat pricey but not to unexpected from an all copper heatsink Functions wonderful, and does the job effectively. One issue to note, I did not acquire from newegg and located it at a BB for beneath โ

This factor is Enormous! It took about 45 minutes to set up this issue, but it was worth it! My old CPU (AM2 Brisbane x2 5200+) with the stock heatsink and a 6000RPM fan would still run about 52C idle and hover about 60C beneath load. With this heatsink and an AM3 Phenom2 Callisto 550 x2 the temp hasn't risen above 48C - even for the duration of heavy video transcoding (DVD to DivX, DivX to iPhone). Had to get rid of a side fan and was a discomfort in the a__ to get clips on. Practically regarded as installing the Intel mounting technique. Not a fantastic concept given that I run RAID and messing with the drives forced a restore (custom, not Manufacturer). Comes with some kind of control dial, which I cranked up to max and disconnected. Trying to use it when the thing's installed is a discomfort in the a__ as you will finish up touching the fins. If the CPU's reporting 40C the those fins should be... OUCH! There is as well considerably thermal compound in the small packet. Had to take away excess just before finishing installation. <One egg removed for unnecessarily challenging installation.> Only take away your power provide if it's on the bottom. If you need to have a lot more space to get the clips in location (AMD only) get rid of the mainboard from the case. Once you get this fat-a__ thing in spot you most likely won't have adequate area to get the power provide back into place. Some southbridge heatsinks could get in the way of the clip arm on the bottom. Save time and put the arm up best. It's okay to twist the arm/lever a Little bit to get it about the heatpipes. It appears like it doesn't cover the Whole CPU - this is okay. It's challenging to inform after this issue's in place. I feel the added airflow is likely the explanation there is one more 2-3C drop in temps, due to the fact the space around the CPU isn't covered by a huge block of metal.

Had this for two years now, and performance-sensible this is the ideal heatsink/fan remedy I've ever applied. Big! Had to move it from the case I originally had it in, and the subsequent case would just barely include it! Measure your case including installed mobo with care before generating this one yours.

Appears frightening. pretty qiet. Involves a throttle control (but demands you to attain down to the base of the fan, and that demands smaller hands with this thing). powerfull cooling (although my CPU is nevertheless at stock clock speed, I will soon ramp it up to see what this cooler can do). a ์ fan must include things like thermal paste, even if it's low-end paste. this didn't come with any.Directions had been terrible. Look at the user manual on manufacturer's internet site, This is the similar instructions that ships with the cooler. It's good to have the guidelines in 8 languages, but you don't will need to have the Photographs duplicated for each of eight languages. Directions would be significantly far better if images were massive and clear, rather they are tiny and ambiguous. This is my 1st socket AM2 install, and I almost cracked the Mobo attempting to seat this factor until I realized that the AM2 socket clip was backward. So you want to have the fan facing a certain path, AND the clip more than the top of it has to face a certain path. This was not clear AT ALL from the guidelines. I may possibly have figured this out sooner if I'd done an AM2 set up prior to, but then what fantastic are instructions anyway? It's really heavy and I will be careful next time I move my Pc. If it gets shaken too a lot I wouldn't be shocked if this point craks the mobo. The throttle manage should have a longer wire so you can spot it out of the case, or in a reachable location inside the case. To throttle, I want to attain into the 2-inch gap in between this fan and my stock case fan, and pull the wire out so I can turn the throttle knob. Doing this whilst the Computer is operating will get your adrenaline running!

This cooler works well for an i7. I bought this for an i7 920 processor. It looks amazing in a windowed case, it's fins are all copper so it dissapates heat pretty nicely. Keeps my i7 920 OC'ed @ three.0ghz at 26ºC idle, and 31ºC at load, effectively even though playing Crysis at least. I also have a case with good airflow even though (Antec 1200).Has a built in fan controller, if I maintain the fan about threeǚ the way up I get the temps I listed. I can drop it to about 1ǘ way and get about four-fiveºC additional on idle/load for a additional quiet case, but it's not that loud anyways.I employed Arctic Silver 5 as my thermal interface material. Not genuinely a con, but I'll put it here... this factor is extremely large, make sure your case can match it just before you purchase it.Instructions quite standard, not quite detailed. With some studying you can figure it out, but much better and a lot more detailed instructions would be nice. Don't use as well a lot TIM (thermal interface material) on your processor if you want very good temps. You want a quite thin layer.Under no circumstances compared it to stock cooling given that I by no means installed it, I purchased this with my other components and installed it suitable off the bat.Comes with a "Thermaltake - Important 3 Spirit" case badge (little logo sticker, like the "Intel Inside" badge).

Cooled my technique about 10 degrees from stock ... holds a three.5 overclock decently ..... with out important fluctuation ... not that substantial of a heat sink compared to what all the other testimonials say .... i would say its not major but not little ... Appears to do the trick for now ... FAN ON Large ... sounds like a vaccum .... other heat sink fans that dont have this challenge , would be a greater bet ... But if you leave the fan about medium it cools your method fine and sound isnt to terrible 1ǘ and 1ǘ bring about Substantial fan noise when on Substantial , but decently cools ... i would give it a 6 out of 10 ... As it is created of all copper which is greatest for cooling

operating sturdy immediately after just about two years! never had any cooling challenge what-so-ever...it had observed three processor upgrades and in no way fails to impress requires a substantial case! when i very first got this i was in a mid tower and had to get rid of components of the case for it to fit(so worth it) but as soon as i moved to a total tower no problems fitting this giant at all... this cpu fan has averted me from switch to water cooling on several occasions...following upgrading to the amd 965 black edition nonetheless, i will soon...but my other laptop or computer will be luck to have this beauty soon after the stock fan in it...my thermaltake v1 will by no means die!

fantastic cooler for overall performance. kept my AMD X2 6400+ at 28- 32C idle. fan bearings died immediately after 19 months. immediately after the V1 died I put the stock AMD HSF on, temps are running 38-40 idle. so the V1 kept the CPU 8-10C cooler than stock fan. would like to have gotten 2 yrs out of the cooler.

Cools my i7 920 to about 35c on idle (no overclocks), Blue led fan is really amazing looking and goes along with the Antec 900 Two. Easy to install As soon as it was set up the fan was hitting against one side of the cooler (making this loud scraping noise), had to take it out by hand and bend the side back away from the fan. Its big, but not truly a con all you require is sufficient space. But general a very good cooler

Simple to set up (I don't comprehend how individuals have challenges with the push pins); looks amazing; quiet; low height for more substantial tower cooler Temps are a tiny larger than expected ࿇C idle - 50C load), but my e7200 is overclocked from 2.53 to 3.14... Could also be the ocz thermal paste. I had no troubles installing this in my antec 900... Oriented to blow to th back and didn't have to eliminate the sidefan. Looks pretty sweet with the rest of my blue LEDs.

This thing looks wonderful in my case, and I enjoy how it pulls air across the fins with the internal fan from front to back out of my case. When Installed correctly, it pulled my temps down five deg C (AMD x3). Big & TALL! LED light doesn't seem to turn off. A bit tricky to install properly, had to pull the mobo to get it correct. speed handle wire is incredibly brief, the may as effectively have mounted it correct to the HSfan. I managed to drill a hole in a pci cover blank for the speed controller and created a pci bay controller, but for one more ũ or so it could be included and would make a world of distinction how much is a piece of metal and 6" much more wire? lost an egg for that, but I am nevertheless happy. Got this at a well-known nearby retailer on clearance for a fantastic price (>ฮ).My processor (AMD Athlon II x3 Rana - unlocked quad) runs very cool to start with. Stock cooler kept it under 40 C under heavy use (Florida in the summer season to boot!). After a couple of attempts at installing this, and with the appropriate compound (IC diamond), I havent seen it go more than 35 C. I preserve the fan on low, simply because higher speed setting messes with my case flow causing higher temps. Also, due to the size, I had to move a side case fan to the outdoors of the case so the cover would close.

This is a Huge cooler, make certain it fits! It does a great job cooling, I get 28-29 C idle and no more than 34 C ever, even under heavy load for complete nights. Adjustable fan to over 2000 RPM. Dang it was difficult to get on my board. It was a tight fit. Very quiet, cant hear it over the case or video card fans, even at max. Oh, its large. Genuinely large. It sticks off the board further than the video card, and the card is a monster as well. Maybe a tiny pricey, but nicely worth the cooling capability.

Fits really well into my Cooler Master Elite 335 mid-tower case on an nForce 790i Ultra SLI motherboard with an Intel Core 2 Quad 6700. The motherboard produced it difficult for me to discover a great fan mainly because of the heatpipes that surround the CPU slot. I can't evaluate to a stock fan because I didn't have a stock fan. It is a tiny difficult to set up with the motherboard already in the case, but it's doable. As with most heat sink fins, they can be bent effortlessly so be careful. The fan manage wire is too brief to mount outside the case. I was able to have it outside when the fan was mounted in the appropriate direction (blowing toward the back exhaust fan) but just barely, and I had to leave the major slot on the back panel open to do so. In attempting to discover the optimum cooling for my setup, I turned the fan so that it blows toward the top rated of the case instead of the back. When it was facing the back it was pulling heat from the PSU and making the sensor for the CPU read hotter than when I turned the fan upwards. According to Everest, my CPU runs about 37C when Idle and about 40C when gaming on-line. I'm positive more fans would cool it down a small more if I had room, but I'm still very a bit away from the Thermal Spec listed on Intel's internet site. This computer system was just built yesterday Ƙǘብ) so it's not doing bad for my initial develop. This is also a more typical temp, don't be place off by those that are giving readings in the 20s or even decrease because those are not normal cooling temps for the typical particular person.

This huge 'ol perdy slab of copper has accomplished a single of the ideal jobs of cooling I've ever seen in a heatsink. Granted, that's not precisely saying alot, provided how often I work on computer systems, but even so. It looks incredible inside the case, especially with the big blue fan lit and spinning, and even on the lowest fan speed it keeps my cpu cool, even under loads. It also cut down on my case noise a tiny bit, and that constantly deserves praise, particularly when it does so effectively in cooling. I don't know if this seriously counts, simply because I have no way of knowing if it was a manufacturing challenge or a problem with shipping, but when I got it, the fins had been slightly out of allignment so the fan rubbed against them. Luckily I figured this out before I plugged it all in, and some gentle bending got it working perfectly. The only other thing I can think of griping about is its size, which barely fits inside my case. But I expected that, so as long as it keeps operating (and it has for over a year now with no difficulties or matters), it keeps a five-egg rating.

And I have no doubts that if you can install it in your situation that it would cool the Sun if you required it to...
