High efficiency, modular cable hook ups, good packaging. Cables are a tad quick. Modular connections are a small shoddy in comparison to other PSU's in this cost variety. If your seeking for a 1200w PSU, there are not a whole lot of PSU's to pick from. I am sueing Thermaltake over some horrible tech help and high quality troubles with a case I recently purchased. At this point, I would not advocate getting something manufactured by this business.

Performs impressive, have had no issuses after i got it functioning. When working with all the non modular cables (cpu connector, motherboard, and 8pin). With the 8pin plugged into my 9800 GX2 the power provide seemed to be overloaded, plugging the 9800 GX2 into one more plug (modular 1) fixed it.

Will power a smaller town of 20,000 people at Christmas time with all lights on. Price tag.... yep it's often the price tag. Stable, reputable, quiet, and rather substantial. Has power connectors for next generation video. But not for tri-sli.

All the stats are great, modular cabling is a fantastic idea, uncomplicated to install and use. Did not have a challenge with cable lengths as some other individuals had recommended, and I'm working with an ATX Full Tower. DOA, RMA for refund. Had higher hopes for this. Set up was a breeze, plugged in connectors no problem. Left on for 3 hours, came back to locate the laptop or computer dead. Went by way of all standard ts, verify connections, resat almost everything, just tried plugging in MB only couldn't get it to power up. Fans moved for a second at commence up, then program hung/turns off and can't be began again. It's funny, in their manual that comes with the factor there's only 2 troubleshooting items..."No DC Output" and 3 measures, then condition 2 "The fan begins rotating then stops at energy on" which has two obvious actions then a note to RMA if reseating connections doesn't perform. That doesn't instill a lot of confidence with me.

This is incredibly good psu, in reality its the best I have ever had. I apgraded from a 850 thermaltake to this when I bought my two XFX GTX 295 cards to run quad sli. I strategy on obtaining a third gpu and dedicate it just to run physx. It comes with every single power connector you would ever need to have and a great little bag for the ones you don't use. I would recomend this psu to anybody. It's worth each and every penny. None. None.

Really like these modular cables, incredibly nice only possessing the cable I require inside the case. Good if you have a big number of powersucking devices. Quite large. As other people have stated, unless your receiving a complete tower this psu will probably not fit. Good psu, I'd get a thermaltake psu yet again but I don't consider I'll want as well for a incredibly long time.

So far, for me, this has been a terrific PSU. The 1200 Watts is far more than I require, and provides alot of space to grow for overclocking, going SLI with the new energy hungry cards, loading up on drives, or water cooling. Cosmetically, it looks terrific when set up for cases with side windows that can see it. The unit has been whisper quiet for me, and nice & cool. The big fan on this issue appears to do its job well. I haven't had any glitches or difficulties but. The diagram on the back of the PSU and in the documentation is straight-forward and makes plugging in your gear easy...even for a initially-time builder. What goes to which rail is obviously marked, and the documentation consists of info on powering the newer PCIe video cards that call for two energy connections. The cables were a lot long to reach most anyplace in my full-tower situation (CoolerMaster Stacker 830 Evo). The modular cables are terrific! They attached and detached easily, yet remain incredibly safe when attached This is a big PSU so double-examine the dimensions of the unit from the manufacturer internet site against the dimensions of the PSU that your selected case will accomodate. I used a full-tower CoolerMaster Stacker 830 Evo and the unit fit like a glove. A silicon gasket is offered to isolate the PSU itself from the situation-PSU-frame to minimize noise and vibration, that can be a tiny bit tricky to fit in properly and evenly. With regards to the cables - Note: Not all the cables are modular. The 24-pin Mobo, and the 2 eight-pins Ƒ eight-pin Quad Core energy connector and 1 2x4-pin connector) are permanently attached. The cables are extremely thick and stiff. This makes fantastic cable-management a bit of a challenge and you have to be quite cautious when routing cables so as not to 'snap' a connection on your motherboard, or a fragile SATA connector off the back of a drive. This appears like it could cause some troubles in a case with significantly less space inside.

Modular, Lots of cables, stable, quiet, and lengthy cables. -If you have a Thermaltake Armor case, you will have to take away the upper 90mm fan and USB panel. The panel can be place back into place, but the fan will not fit due to the length of the PSU. -Only comes with two sets of MOLEX cables. Not really a con, but nonetheless. I would ahve liked more cables. This PSU is an overkill for average customer desktop. I purchased it with plans for future upgrades down the road, and as extended as ATX normal persists this PSU will in all probability be all that you'll ever require.

Great power unit. Extremely quiet. It'll run anything you'll ever want to. The modular cabling is wonderful!! Fantastic consumer service from Thermaltake (and Newegg, of course...). Had the similar troubles as CRAMER5853. It fired up fine at initial star-up, but would not restart until it cooled down for about 30 min. Newegg presented to RMA-it proper away, but Thermaltake was willing to cross-ship. Got it inside a week. I installed new unit and didn't have a challenge because. I was considering of giving only a Ř", but the buyer service was good and I was capable to use the system with the defective unit. It's powering a COSMOS case with an ASUS Striker Extreme two, Intel QX9770 with Zalman CNPS9700, EVGA 9800GX2, two GB Corsair Dominator 1800 DDR3, 150 GB WD Raptor & 1TB Seagate Barracuda, Creative X-Fi Elite Pro, Samsung DVD burner and Samsung 2693HM monitor.

Modular was quite handy. Has additional than adequate connections. Quite quiet. Purchased back in March ང and lasted about 1 - two months prior to died and realized wires had been loose. RMA'd by Thermaltake with no queries asked. Sent me new one particular which lasted until today. Went to reboot and poof, pop and there went my circuit breaker. Attempted disconnecting and put into another outlet and smoke. Incredibly DISAPPOINTED! Ought to not have to go on to 3rd PSU in less than a year. It was powering 280gtx, two WD Velociraptors, three other HD, 2 optical drives, 8gb RAM, Asus Crosshair 2 formuala, Areca 1210 and SB Xfi Fatality. No troubles up until currently. Too late to go by way of Newegg, going by way of ThermalTake, I hope I do not require to shell out much more $$ for shipping, this sucker is heavy! Generally heard good of ThermalTake, so I went with them. Maybe I really should have gone with my case manufacturer CoolerMaster. Manufacturer Response:Hello BigRog,Please speak to cs3@thermaltakeusa.com so we can remedy this scenario. We apologize for any inconvenience.

The construction and layout of the energy provide is very great. It comes with a significant assortment of cables to accommodate whatever components that you may possibly have in your case. I was unable to use the SATA power cables that came with this power supply. I have a Silverstone TJ10 case, and it does not supply substantially room for the HDD energy cables. I also had to acquire an extension power cable for the 8 pin CPU energy cable. This most likely wouldn't be a issue if your power supply is mounted on major of your case.I'm not especially crazy about the substantial Thermaltake sign that is glued on the side of the case, but that is my personal preference. This energy supply seems like it was meant for typical size instances. A number of of the cables were as well brief or created poorly to accommodate my distinct case (Silverstone TJ10).

Modular cables. And lots of them, with numerous connector sorts. Superior packaging, including cloth pouch for cable storage. Excellent installation instructions. Stable, so far. Quiet, contemplating it's power output. It's big. I have an Antec P182 situation. This situation has a 120mm fan in the lower chamber. This PS and that fan do not fit with each other. So, I move the fan up to the upper drive cage, as intake. Some could uncover this doesn't fit in thier situation. It's about 25% longer than your average 500W-600W provide.

Churns out the kind of power any individual will will need with a maxed-out gaming system for the next 2 years, and quieter than my previous 500W CoolerMaster PS was. Modular style is a definite plus, to reduce the quantity of cables cluttering and restricting airflow within the situation, providing you the potential to exactly customize how several or handful of you need to have. A tiny con, not even worth lowering an egg for, is the lack of a mixture of connectors on each set of cables. For instance, one particular set of cables will have 5-six SATA connectors, and an additional will have 5-6 4-pin Molex connectors, so if you have 1 SATA drive and 1 IDE DVD drive (like myself), you are forced to use two sets of cables with about 10 unused connectors hanging around inside your situation. Nothing too key though, specially if you strategy on adding far more drives. Again, amazingly quiet and powerful power supply, directions are relatively nicely written, with only a trace of Engrish embedded inside. You have a lot of PCI-E connectors to function with, with 4 unique 12V rails to work off of. Definite purchase.

But Other than that this unit kicks significant tail. Big and beefy. sufficient energy to power two usual computer's. Wonderful provide. properly worth the funds.

Lots of power when you want the extra watts when it operates adequately. Soon after one particular year, this item became unstable. Soon after initial get in touch with with client service, I shipped the item back to be replaced as I was told to do by the tech on the phone with the "no questions asked" reply I was offered. A week later I was informed by e mail that I also required to provide proof of obtain or the warranty is void. Being 1 year soon after acquire, I was unable to locate this. Soon after a month extended communication back and forth, they sent the original defective model back. They told me by way of e mail I could acquire a new 踰 1200w Thermaltake PSU and use that invoice to return the defective a single. Acquire two, get a single fixed cost-free! Now that's consumer service! Technique would not boot at occasions, and when it did was unstable and shut down. PSU diagnostics showed energy fluctuations as significantly as +/- 1.1v on 3.three & 5v rails, +/- 3.2v on 12v rails. Had to RMA a single Asus Striker II Formula motherboard (which was replaced with out the original invoice)Was and will be the final product I ever acquire by thermaltake.Far more businesses want buyer service like the egg's!

_Was_ a great PSU (until PCI-E two. came extended):- quiet- modular (all the non-modular cables get used anyway)- plenty of total energy A PCI-E 2. slot ought to be capable to present 150W of power (that is, 150W by way of the motherboard slot, not counting any connections straight from the energy supply to the card). At 12V, 150W = 12.5A.On this PSU, the 24-pin connector's იV component is on a rail with a max of 20A. Aspect in efficiency of 80% or so, and a single PCI-E slot taking 12.5A, and there's not much of that 20A left. However, that rail nevertheless has to energy the mobo chipset, challenging drives, and fans ... ruh-roh! Of course, your PCI-E card may not in fact draw the complete 150W it's entitled to from the motherboard -- it might get most of its energy directly from the PSU. You can usually hope!Wish I'd read the specs additional closely before I bought it.Also, I wish I'd purchased it from Newegg. Identified it ~贄 less costly somewhere else, but I'm going to have a tough time returning it.
