Tri-SLI approved by NVidia for tri-gtx280's.... yummy...high efficency, modular cables are great - kinda stiff as some have said but nothing key.The complete product just screams "High Quality". Out of stock!!!!I had to go to a different retailer to get the similar product.new egg ships so considerably quicker, so was dissapointed it couldnt have arrived with the rest of my parts. The rubber grommet was a good try, but at least in my case (coolermaster stacker 830 evo) its too thick to fit inside and bolt in so I dont use it. On the other hand it bolts in fine with out it and my case has two psu rails that it sits on so its not moving anyplace anyways that would lead to it to shake and rattle. My rig: Q9450 w/ Arctic Freezer Pro 7, Evga GTX280, Evga 780i mobo, 8gb Corsair Dominator, 1200w modular Thermaltake ToughPower, WD 10k Raptor 160gb, CoolerMaster 830Stacker w/ Thermaltake 95CFM fans Ɣ intakes more than mobo - five exhausts), 24" BenQ w/ HDMI.

Quiet and trustworthy. Cranks up the power as the system desires power. The effective Modularized Cable Management method eliminates wire clutter and enhances airflow for cooling. But can be a discomfort if the technique is becoming built with twin Video Cards that Require two connections, A leaflet would be wonderful on setting up the appropriate drive rails Manual needs additional info on the power rails really quiet and will run my method. and forced me to upgrade my UPS

Totally modular cabling - I'm so glad I didn't get a more affordable PSU with no modular cabling because one just cannot fully grasp the rewards of getting modular cabling till he sees the clutter-cost-free insides. Ultra high effiency = smarter energy usage. Plenty of varying cables for any SLI/TRI-SLI/CrossFire/CrossFireX setup you may possibly think of, so calling this product a future-proof product would be an understatement, in terms of both selections in cabling and abundance in wattage. It even comes with a extremely good additional cables holding bag - I dig these type of points =). Extremely couple of cons except the apparent ones:Probably one of the heaviest PSUs I've ever picked up (Many UPS devices aren't even this heavy). Very huge, so make sure that your case can handle it (All full and most mid towers can take this, but I researched first and identified out that this fits in my new Antec Nine Hundred case perfectly [without the rubber covering]). Be positive to plug this into a surge suppressor that can deal with this, I got the Belkin 4120 Joule suppressor (Also from Newegg) and it's been running like a champ. I have a ton of more stuff/peripherals I will need to add to my case but my existing specs at the moment are as follows.|||CASE - Antec Nine Hundred|MB - EVGA 780i SLI|CPU - Intel C2Q Q9450|CPU COOLER - ZALMAN CNPS9700|GFX - EVGA 9800GX2|RAM - G.SKILL F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ x2|HD - Western Digital Raptor X 150GB|MONITOR - 24" SAMSUNG 245BW|PSU - Thermaltake Toughpower 1200W [For an extra 9800GX2Ǚ HDs/LCS]||| Manufacturer Response:Dear Delfire, Thanks for this useful input, we really appreciate. Power, say it like jeremy clarkson, then you'll understand that this factor is a monster in every way, it's considerably silent compared to other PSU's i've had in the past, modular design is great, just don\'t forget exactly where you leave the spare cables, since it comes with a bunch. In theory, this thing could assistance 2 of my refrigerators Large, but how else can home 1200watts, make confident you have a huge case, i have a lian li pc-v2000b, fits good. i grossly overestimated how considerably energy i required, i was making use of a 550w previously thinking i was topping it off having 6 HDD's in my machine, 4 of which are ten,000 WD raptors, turns out on my old configuration i was only using like 300 watts, and that was at peak. i'm excellent at most factors laptop or computer, but i'm not too sharp with PSU ratings, my APC is claiming i'm utilizing 165w idle, and 230w under load, that's with:i7 920Dominator DDR3 1600MHzA$u$ P6t8800GTfive HDD Ɣ Raptors)i'm not positive if that's what i'm making use of simply because i don't know much about psu's and backup psu's like i stated, but i do know i have the ability to run at least 1 a lot more of my entire setup on the exact same psu, so buy wisely

I went from a corsair hx1000w which cought fire piece of garbage, i upgraded to this one instead because the corsair was not sli certified, this one was, I require a lot of juice for my rig, operating a quad q9550, evga 790i ultra sli mb, with a three way sli using 3x 280 gtx superclocked cards. I run 2x 1.five tb drives, and 1x 300 gig velciraptor drive, aftermarket thermaltake v1 series cpu fanThis psu is wonderful, I have a lot of extra space to expand even far more, its really energy stable. I had a lot of issues with freezing, and so on, when i changed to windows 7 i got a couple of random bluescreens here and there, now with this new psu, every thing runs great! The wires are nicely insulated as well, great for moving about the case's sharp edges and makes the program look extremely clean. The only con I have about this psu is I run a thermaltake armor series full size case, and with the tri-sli, i can\'t run the psu wires for the graphics cards around the back and into the cards, I am forced to run the cables along the drive rail and down to the cards then more than. This is restricting a little bit of air flow, but absolutely nothing too drastic.but overall I am extremely pleased with the psu I think that they need to supply replacement cables of unique lengths so that the wire managment would be a little much better for larger cases. Espicically a case that the very same organization developed lol. Neon lighted fans would be nice also, I would put them in myself but I do not want to open the box and void the warrenty on it. Espicically following my corsair psu sparked and cought on fire =( btw the replacement when i get it will be on eebay soon lol , so if your lookin for it =)

Modular and solid construction, operates well most of the time. most of the time is not enough. It exhibits the exact same problem I have noticed posted here a lot of times. It will not power back on right after shutdown. The lights blink the fan spins for a second and then nothing. I have to unplug it and wait 30 min and then it operates. I am afraid it may possibly go out and harm the rest of my program. I have an e-mail to TT's support staff. I will update here with any progress. If they RMA it and the challenge goes away, Im still a happy consumer

Built lots of PCs and this is by far the finest power supply I have identified. Amazing stability! 6 rails! Modular for all your alternatives on cards and accessories in the case. Nice sleeving and heat shrink to assist with wire management. 140mm fan is extremely quiet. I had to turn off each thing else in the space to hear it up close. I knew it was on from the air blowing but could not hear it. No lights and plexiglass. Additional than sufficient energy for any technique... see other thoughts No lights or plexi. If your seeking for a MOD PSU then look around, but I have to warn you... other PSUs might not have the stability when they are concentrating on makeing it appear fancy and flashy... You can UV paint the fan and resleeve the wires if you want to make this one stand out. I wanted to make this evaluation to counter-act the guy that rated this powersupply 1 Star. I at present have this powersupply powering dual 8800 ultras running in SLI mode and a Q6600 quad core running at 3.6ghz at 1.47vcore (up from 2.4 1.35v). The program also has 3 raptors, two 500mb drives, two optical drives, a tv capture card and three 140mm fans, and 6 120 mm fans. This power supply can LITERALLY take WHATEVER you throw at it... I don't know how else you could completely pressure this factor. The guy in that other evaluation possibly didn't know how to string the modular cables to his video card, they only go a certain way and won't work unless you do it that way. None so far. I'm stressing this thing to it's limit and it's not breaking.

Outstanding power ratings. Rated to deliver 1200W across 4 rails ྴተኀኀ) and I have however to anxiety it out, in spite of having six case fans, five HDDs, one DVD burner, two 8800GTs and a Q6600. This energy supply unit tears by way of all my wants and doesn't even cease for gas. As noted ahead of me, the hardwired cables are a small brief. I'm making use of the Antec Twelve Hundred case, and the bottum-up mounting program indicates that the 8-pin EPS cable is stretched virtually taut across my mainboard and CPU cooler. Silent and cool operation. The loudest part of my new setup are the case fans.

for starters 1200W!!! some individuals say it wont fit in their case, properly i say get a correct case. i have a raidmax smilodon and i had NO issue fitting it in there with my optical drives, nothing in the way, if you have lengthy opticals you might have a prob. the modular technique is nicely believed out in comparison to other mod-PSU's ive had. has a lot more than adequate cables to run every thing in your case and then some, 6Ƅpin video card plugs for existing and subsequent gen cards. 1-fourΠpin and 1-8pin cpu power connector(yes 2 8pin) for present and next gen CPU's, both sli cables in the box have 4 plugs so 8 total sli power plugs, no 110롴 switch (it knows what you use) it puts out some heat but then once more its the biggest psu ive observed so its to be expected. price ATM it will drop eventualy as much more 1200's come onto the marketplace as far more folks will be needing this significantly juice ultimately. my sys,,, raidmax-smilodon gaming case; asus m2n32-sli deluxe; 1GB 800MHZ ocz plat ram, 2GB 800MHZ ocz water cooled ram; amd athlon 64 2x 6000+ƓG), water cooled; bfg 8800 GTSOC 320M GDDR3; 1 sata dvd-burner; 1 sata dvd burner w/ lightscribe; 2x sata 400GB HD; soundblaster live 24 bit; linksys wireless car; Ʋ 80mm fans and 1 120mm fan...not on psu , zalman reserator v2 cooling cpu and 2G ram.only pulling minimal load on psu with this setup so this PSU will keep you SET for a though, highly suggested nicely worth the cost seeing as you wont will need to get a different one for years to come with its capability to grow with you as you upgrade your method to next gen parts.

--Lots of power--Semi-Modular--High excellent wiring - way greater than less expensive power supplies, incredibly sturdy connectors--3 8Pin PCIE and 3 6PIN PCIE power outputs!--Several energy rails--Quiet--Decent owners manual--Good bag to store additional connectors --It's costly but, as I've read before (and learned the difficult way) regarding energy supplies, you get what you pay for. This is an exceptional power supply for your GTX 295(s). I had a completely modular 1000W PS that had to be RMA'd to one more website because mah my video card kept shutting off. This Thermaltake solved the problem.

Only been up and operational for about 3 days now but every thing went smooth. Fits excellent in coolermaster stacker Nvidia branded case. The cables are stiff and a small tough to function with but after a little function I found a way to make it all work so no complaints here. Quiet! Cool! and way overkill for my system but now I have enormous overhead to grow my system later. Not 1. Powers this with room to spare: Striker Extreme, core 2 duo 6420, 2g ram, 2x 250g sata drives, cd-rom, dvdrom, several fans, 2x 9600 Gt.

Lots of stable, clean power. Modular, well-labeled. Comes with vibration damper. Included cables are THICK and make it tough for cable management. Cables have bulges near connectors that can bump into other cards. It was impossible for me to install the cabling w/ two HD3870x2s on a maximus formula without bending the cable near the power connectors.

I like the V3, V4 rail notion, really stable, durable high top quality. Nicely possibly one, but not actually a Con: it is huge, I'm utilizing it in a Thermaltake Armor ATX tower, it was quite hart to get it in there, had to eliminate the best exhaust fan. Asus Extreme Striker MOBO, 4GB Ballistix Tracer, E6700 Intel CPU, 2*EN8800GTX in SLI. I needed the power. One factor though, I virtually went crazy for a week, b/c whenever my second GPU began working in SLI (under 3DMark or Oblivion) in began a continuos long beep and shut down the PC. Replaced MOBO, PSU, Cards, reinstalled drivers, but the challenge didn't go away. Finally figured that I have too many factors plugged into the very same electrical outlet (UPS, Monitor, PC, reading lamp, printer, sound program) that is. Nicely, this PSU takes so considerably juice from the outlet that I had to plug everything else into a unique power outlet on the other side of the room and keep this 1 for the PC and the monitor alone. Now it works like charm.

Quiet, the modular cable management program is very good, one of the principal factors I purchased it. Have had it 14 months, last week, pc just shut down, but not entirely. The monitors went black, the energy light went out and some fans stopped spinning, but the case lights and cpu fan remained on. I cut the power and restarted and similar thing, with a "CPU INIT" error on the motherboard. Immediately after jumping via hoops attempting to reset CMOS thinking it was a difficulty with mobo or cpu I read it could also be PSU. Decided to test the voltages. the three.3 and five were okay, but the 12V had nothing. Connected my roomie's powere supply to my benched mobo and cpu and it continued on to tell me I didn't have RAM (which I did not). Thermaltake has a weird advance RMA exactly where if you give them your credit card quantity for backup they'll send you a new 1 just before they get the old 1. I reprinted my newegg invoice, hope that works. Following reading some of these reviews about comparable complications and voltage variations, I'm kind of nervous about even employing this PSU once more. This thing claims automated voltage regulation and however demonstrates three.3v varitions of 1.three volts? That's sufficient to fry stuff in the computer system!

Great constant power, able to manage even the hungriest of GFX cards plus extra such as liquid cooling systems. Died right after 10 months. Became unstable and would not boot method. 12v PCIe modular rails would drop 2+ volts, and 8 pin board connector had a +/- .75 voltage fluctuation would freeze and crash program constant for the last few days it was alive. Thermaltake will not enable me to RMA with out original invoice even though it was registered the day I recieved it. Invoice is No longer listed on the egg, so I guess I am out 踛. Cons:- Metal plate with thermaltake logo

Pros:- 1200 Watts- Modular (though not completely)- Excellent stats
Comment:
This power supply is simply a beast. It is modular except for the mandatory cables for your motherboard, and I ordered this based on several web-reviews and am not disappointed with it's performance. The only thing that irked me is that Thermaltake decided to slap their logo (which I don't really have a problem with) on the side of the PS on a metal plate that is white - which is currently clashing with my Obsidian 800D. Removing the plate will obviously void warranty, and so will painting it.Edit: I just thought I'd point out that the power supply is in fact a gunmetal-ish colour instead of the very light metal you see in the picture (besides the logo plate). Was a very pleasant surprise for me. This review was modfied by poster @ 12-20-09 03:25 PM
