Thermaltake V9 VJ400G1N2Z Black Computer Case
Comment:
The Thermaltake V9 "Black Widow" is an exceptional value. The airflow in this certain chassis is remarkable. Front 120mm fan intakes air via the tough drives, the side 230mm fan intakes on the motherboard and elements, then the rear red 120mm and the prime 230mm exhausts it out.I am operating a hot MSI GeForce n9800 GT and with my old chassis I couldn't hold 'er operating under 70C on idle, now operating games nearly full throttle it never ever gets above 60C.The case is quiet for the quantity of fans that is installed and the case itself is light. Cable management is greater than typical and the bottom mounted PSU leaves a lot of space for expansion and leaving unused cables out of the way. Best USB and Audio is really conviniently situated and was uncomplicated to install. Its an aluminum chassis, also a lot force when installing components will bend the case. Taking off the stock MOBO plate bent it as nicely. The tooless modules are less costly plastic and care demands to be exercised, specifically the PCI pieces.Backside fan slot for behind the motherboard is useless if you want to put anything there wider than threeǚ of an inch.Sucks dust like a vacuum from the side 23cm fan, demands a filter and with the elevated airflow, its not advised to stick paper near it for it will get swept and pinned to the fan grate. These cons are a provided and doesn't take anything away from the positives. Be gentle with her when you set up the components and it will be fine. Also you can bypass the tooless modules and straight screw every thing in if preferred.Lots of space for expansion and the cooling is second to none for air cooling. It also boasts two openings for liquid cooling as properly, if thats your fancy.

The fans that came with the case are outstanding, all cable lengths had been affordable, sturdy, a few nice touches with a nod to security like rubber caps. pleasure to work in, plenty of area. a hole with filter on the bottom to let air to the PSU fan. all grating on front & bottom has filter material. the pci bracket program. obtaining a gtx 460 in there was a discomfort due to plastic that obstructed the bracket on the card and produced aligning it with the socket & the hole in the case near not possible. I thought I was going to break the socket off the mobo to get it in there. the latches dont really hold anything up, they are just there to act as stoppers for what ever may well hit them. And you can't just use screws alternatively of the latches, the dilemma piece is molded on the case. fantastic case, save for the pci bracket.

Relatively appealing case even although the fan leds(red) and energy led(blue) don't match. There is lots of space for expansion just have lots of your own screws readily available.Cooling seems sufficient. Metal is thin on PCI slots. Care need to be taken when replacing backplane bezel. Top rated PCI slot can get bent easily in the process.PCI slot use popouts that can be replaced.PCI slot tool absolutely free clips are worthless. Removed that piece of junk with the three screws on the back and utilized screws to hold my cards down. The tool absolutely free snap-ins for the drives are useless. Had to use screws again. The power button light is blue but the fan on the front is red. Replacing the red fan with a blue one to make it appear decent. I'm amazed that any person would give this case a lot more than two or three eggs.I would not get this case once again.

Extremely nice case. Magnificent cooling technique. 4 built in fans run quietly although cooling the technique. Produced things very easy to assemble 1 of the fans stopped operating simply because of a wire blocking it. But an additional Pro is that. Thermaltake replaced the fan with out query and was no dilemma putting it in. Magnificent buyer service.

I changed my rating to a three immediately after assembling the case.It is quiet, has lots of fans, seems to remain pretty cool teamed with the Corsair HC50, and appears good, but..... ....it is nonetheless by far the flimsiest case I've noticed. If it never ever got droped in shipping, and a single is exceptionally cautious when poking out slots, it isn't that terrible. It should be handled with kid gloves. The value is decent. This is why I am writing. If folks purchase based on the appears/price, just be particularly aware to treat this one relatively gently. For those (everybody) who identify the tool-less hardware on the rear panel annoying and problematic, it comes off with 3 screws on the outside of the case. The normal holes are nevertheless there. THANK YOU!Thermal Take ought to make the case at least two ga. thicker. This factor bends like aluminum foil.

Tons of space inside. Will fit the most current and greatest Nvidia and Radeon cards without having a hitch. Screwless bays operate prefectly, each secure and uncomplicated to use. A wonderful worth for the money! 230mm fans fail more than time as they warp simply. Just purchase a handful of 120mm to put in their location. Also the screwless graphics holders are weak for anything heavy, so I just employed screws. I had this case for a small over a year and its been via some rough instances, I dropped once for the duration of a move. Nothing but a few battle scars. I bought a complete new setup lately and identified out that the radeon 6950 just doesn't fit in the CM storm scout. This will deal with abuse, newer hardware and preserve it cool, just beware of the fans!

... I wrote currently, but I cannot pressure adequate how disappointed that Newegg has thrust this case (along with a notoriously problematic motherboard) into their wonderful cash saving kits. I went with absolute trust in the New Egg name, and figured Thermal Take should make a great case, and Asus a fantastic board. Sadly mistaken. This case is so poor it's not funny. I hate it. If they'd swap it for a different 1, I'd take it in a heartbeat. This thing (maybe just mine?) has no speaker. No leads to stated speaker. The video is dead somewhere, and can't hear bios beeps mainly because of this sad case they stuck me with, so I'm sitting right here with 800 bucks of conversation peice. I really couldn't afford this kit in the 1st place, and now I have to go through whatever, to get one thing that actually operates. It is just so stinking disappointing to acquire a kit, wait for it to arrive, then find a negative motherboard, and a worse case. New Egg, you need to replace every one particular of these that anybody purchased that is even the least dissatisfied with it.

sturdy case, two large fans (top and side) fans are quiet. case looks incredibly good and has space for alot of elements not the circumstances fault but if you are operating a corsair h50 or h70 you cant run the side 230mm fan mainly because it hits the radiator. i installed a 140mm fan in its place the stock fan doesnt move alot of air anyways.

A number of big fans provide superb ventilation. Almost certainly the best cooling arrangement for the cost. Several substantial fans move a huge volume of air at low RPM, producing the case quite almost silent. Present day bottom-mount PS place. Rebate present borders on scam. I followed their instructions to the letter & attached the ONLY barcode from the box, but got an e-mail declining my rebate because I "failed to send in the necessary barcode from the product". Soon after threatening to refer the matter to the NY AG my rebate was authorized - though I haven't noticed the funds however. So base your acquire on the out-the-door price for this case without having factoring in the rebate, which may well under no circumstances come. Flimsy drive retainers inspire zero self-confidence. Throw them away and use screws. Your drive is getting held in location by two 1ቬ" lumps of plastic. The 200mm side fan was place in the center of the side panel making it not possible to clear a tall CPU cooler (CM 212+). Had to turn the CPU cooler so it laid flat with fan on leading in a "puller" arrangement and relocate side fan 1.5" reduce so it rests just above the major of the PSU to make it all fit. It cuts off a small crescent of the bottom of the fan but it works OK. Case is incredibly thin steel, side panels could dent simply. Must have been made wider than classical mid tower dimensions to much better accommodate aftermarket CPU coolers. Not much believed provided to cable routing, again the narrow width didn't give them several choices. No opening in MB tray for cooler bracket attachments. As an alternative you have punchouts for attaching a fan to the bottom of the MB tray to cool...what?? The bottom of the MB?? PS mounts in bottom of case. This is great, but case has very thin feet. If tower is to sit on carpet, they will enable the bottom of the case to sink in and sit flat. The PS will then have zero air intake. Will have to locate taller feet or use a CPU stand.

-Huge fans are a plus. The case fans are incredibly quiet.-I like the red LED. Not to bright, but sufficient to be stylish-NO seethrough opening. I just don't realize why some people today enjoy those.-Decent price tag with rebate. -PSU to close to bottom of case or the case pegs should be slightly taller.-Did have to mess with the best fan to get it from hitting it's self. As soon as I did that havn't had a challenge-Substantial fans are cheaply made. Really Flimsy-Major mesh doesn't seat appropriately. More than all you get what you pay for. This is defintly NOT a higher finish case. But soon after rebates it beats circumstances of the some price. I have not had any important problems, case functions and operates. Purchased in Nov 2009

Fantastic cooling and very quiet. Have caught my self reaching to turn technique on only to find it is already running.Lots of space for hard drives. and quite easy drive installation. The top mounted control panel is supper handy and the top shelf with usb and audio connectors makes it simple to connect my stuff to the laptop or computer. Had complications mounting my ATI AGP video card. Had to get rid of the fast locking technique to get card in case. Also broke 2 of the Difficult Drive locking dials whilst attempting to install my tough drives. Due to the number of theses swift connectors supplied, it did not pose any major troubles; since I had a lot to get all my drives secured in spot. There is a mount for a under the board CPU cooling fan. I attempted several of the fans I had lying around, but they were substantially to thick to perform. Due to the fact there is a location for the fan, I would have liked to see this fan already installed; or at least facts on the size of fan needed to fit the case and a supply to acquire 1.!

This tower is wonderful! The screwless challenging drive and DVD drive slots were great. I don't know what absolutely everyone is complaining about. The only time you would ever have a challenge is if you turned the laptop or computer upside down and shook truly tricky. Places for twisty ties makes effortless cable management. This case runs soooooo cool. To fix the grinding noise, if you get one particular, just get a paper clip or anything and stuff the loose wire into the case and away from the leading fan. The grinding noise will be gone forever.

Every little thing but the two 230 mm fans... Both 230mm fans were broken when the case arrived becasue they are cheaply made. I notified Newegg and they offered a tiny refund, but not practically enough to cover the cost of replacement fans. Try to locate replacement 230mm fans..Impossible! Would appear at an additional case with higher top quality and standardized fans.

Decent space for a mid tower, incredible aiflow(my quad-core is sitting at 25*C, tooless challenging and disc drive clips operate perfectly allthough the pci clips is another story. The pci clips are generally for show since they dont secure the card down, good and tight. But you can take away the entire clip rack and just use screws to hold the cards. The rear port panle is a little tricky to get off without having harming the case. The case's frame is slighlty flimsy in my opinion. If you use the clips properly they will function like they are supposed to except for the pci clips.I still wish i had gotten the COOLER MASTER HAF 932 AMD Restricted Edition case.

The situation moves air keeping all the hardware in excellent temp range. Each and every thing fits good and the cable management is superb. Each and every issue runs quiet and and the venting of the PSU by means of the bottom aids keep the warm air out of the case. The red light in the front provides a good added influence. The air screens do the job at maintaining dust and other points out of the situation. The bad thing is immediately after a while the top rated fan and the side panel fan starts to warp and rub on stuff in the situation. I had my major fan break two petals on it and the side a single I can not use result in it rubs against the side panel and is annoying. Just need to have to fix those flimsy fans and bam you have a case that can please quite a few. Massive fans, NO WINDOW, NO FRONT DOORS, NO Leading DOOR/Panel, lightweight and however, nevertheless sturdy.Immediately after obtaining a number of circumstances over the years (computers tend to last 3-five years with me) I looked for some thing that didn't have all of the unfavorable troubles I've had with past instances (Chieftec Matrix, Thermaltake Armor Jr. to name a couple). In seeking for anything to last as long as doable, this seemed to fit the bill and added a couple of new features I'm hoping grow to fit my wants. Harddrive/PCI "quick install" retention devices are flimsy and although I was investigating the use of them numerous devices broke. I ended up getting rid of all of them in favor of screwing in the devices anyways - I run the LANParty circuits and they didn't seem like they could deal with travel really effectively. I'm really hoping the Corsair H70 will fit in this issue, I feel it's going to be a squeeze.

Air Flow is fairly nice Exactly where can I commence? I've purchased a lot of situations from newegg and owned a lot of cases as nicely. This is the absolute worst case I have ever come across. First the excellent of the metal applied is comical. When popping out any of the temporary sheets in the back to seat the motherboard and graphics cards, unless you use cutters you will bend the paper thin metal that the temp pieces are attached to. Secondly, the brace to hold in expansion cards is horrendous. The 1st factor you really should do is unscrew the 3 screws and remove it. It servers no goal other than to make your expansion cards be slightly misaligned with your motherboard. Subsequent is the situation covers. Once more the thinnest, brittlest metal attainable is used for the teeth on the covers to grasp onto case. Even slightly putting the cover incorrectly into the situation will bend the metal teeth. Damage to the situation from the shoddy way it was built indicates I'm out ๪ as I could not return it in its current condition. I will in no way ever buy anything manufactured from this business once more following this experience.

Raised motherboard mounts. Actually poor build good quality. The side panels barely fit and do not sit flush with the situation. The poorly fitting panels created it challenging to get the thumb screws in as nicely. On a handful of occasions the best fan started to grind when began, but stopped inside a handful of seconds. The tool-less peripheral clip wouldn't operate with my video card and had to be removed.

Quiet, simple to assemble, tough drives have plastic locking device and screws.Situation looks very great! Big fans, black situation red lights. Ƒ) USB ports on the best point up at a 25 degree angle, putting memory sticks at threat of being bashed. They could very easily have been placed so that the sticks were parallel to the leading of the situation and protected.ƒ) The Off button and Reset button are at the major front of the situation, correct where a particular person would rest their arm when pulling some thing out of the prime USB or sound ports. Consider my surprise when XP rebooted as I pulled out the memory stick. My forearm had pressed one particular of the buttons by accident. I'll have o fasten one thing over the buttons to shield them.Ɠ) There is a fan on the major of the situation, exactly where I typically place notebooks or papers. Not significantly use in that case. Ɣ) My best fan came with a broken blade, and I can not figure out any way to take away it. Since I don't like the best fan anyway, I guess I can live with no it. I would not purchase this situation. The designers place looks above practical design in the way the placed the leading usb ports, the major fan and the on/off and reset buttons.

I have had this case given that February 2010 and have enjoyed it immensely. The tools totally free installation method holds all your devices in location just fine. They may really feel a little loose, but I've under no circumstances had any issues with mine. Also, the fans are really quiet. I got this situation since my OEM situation had fans (thanks Gateway!) and resulted in BSOD regularly. I had no difficulties whatsoever once I moved everything more than to this case. I even was in a position to overclock my CPU, RAM, and Video card very a bit without raising any temperatures above the advised specs for a although. The cable management tray in the back is handy and assists lower temperatures. I tried having the cables not organized and it was sufficiently cool, but moving them into the management tray dropped temps. There is also room for tons of expansion. four ODD and five HDD is immense. I don't see significantly need to have for four DVD or Blu-ray drives, so you could merely install two optical drives and then location a liquid cooling unit in the remaining Thermaltake advertises that you can place a 70mm fan on the back to cool the CPU. This is true, but there is no mounting hardware included with the situation, locating the fan is hard, and the fan will most likely be noisy. I found the temperature drops to be worth the noise. The tools totally free mounting is fantastic, but there is no real spot to mount a two.five'' drive, so if you have an SSD, you'll almost certainly end up doing what I did and just have it laying on the bottom of the case. Not a major issue, but annoying. It was also a tiny hard to line up the motherboard with the screw holes on the situation. I currently have a full ATX board in mine and have to leave one screw out to fit it in the situation.Lastly, the locking mechanisms for the ODD and HDD tend to be a little flimsy. You can fairly quickly pull the lock out. It's just as effortless to reinsert even though. This next element is a con at 1st, but you'll eventually see it as a pro. The HDD cage in this situation essential you to place the HDD in so that the SATA connection faces the back of the computer system. At initial, this will seem like a discomfort when installing the HDD. Nonetheless, this is supposed to force you to take off the back panel and take benefit of the cable management. I consider thermaltake did this to not block the air flow from the intake fan on the front. Ran out of space in the Pros. The 5 HDD slots is plenty. With the storage capacity of HDD's these days, there is no need to have for a lot more than 5. Even though I listed very a handful of cons, I heartily recommend this case simply because they are minor concerns that you can learn to deal with.Overall, if you're operating on a spending budget and/or this is your very first rig to construct, this is the situation to go for. It's uncomplicated sufficient for a n00b to use, but also works well sufficient for seasoned pros.
