Thermaltake V9 VJ400G1N2Z Black Computer Case
Comment:
The case is spacious. The big fan on top of the case is really quiet, and really cools the motherboard and CPU. Placing the power provide at the bottom tends to make the case quite stable. The metal is quite thin and bends quickly. The metal shield covering the I/O ports of the motherboard is extremely hard to take away---removing it triggered bending the entire back of the case. The "toolless" plastic stuff that holds in the PCI cards and challenging drives is horrible---it doesn't hold anything. Most of the pieces on mine, additional flux on the plastic meant that some of the pieces didn't even fit. Nonetheless, the plastic can be removed and plain screws utilized (I wish I would have read that in previous reviews prior to wasting a bunch of time!). None of the fans are speed controllable, which is unfortunate since my motherboard can manage such fans.

This case runs cool. Amd 6 core processor never gets above 90 degrees at complete load with a stock fan and heatsink. *Cable management sucks... If there is any at all. *Plastic parts are very uncomplicated to breakMINUS two EGGS!! Replaced all the non led fans with led fans. Adde decals which made the case appear not so plain

Good airflow I have been building computers for over 15 years. This is absolutely the worst pc case I have encountered. It is constructed of flimsy metal and the plastic bay locks break extremely very easily. A slot for a screw is offered but incredibly hard to use since the case itself blocks access. Great luck locating a replacement fan if one particular of the significant fans dies. The power supply is at the bottom of the case and tiny space is supplied for air intake Affordable... Worthless... Stay away and save oneself a large disappointment

Looks excellent, Feels like a case costing only ฤ.00, quite thin, fans died after two weeks I just bought a HEC 6BRBBB Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Pc Case right here at newegg for 39.00 free of charge shipping.Significantly greater case than this 99.00 junk.

looks good, all fans operate, low noise. right here we go...the holes for the motherboard did not fit the included screws, I had to drill a tiny to make them fit. the latch for the cards don't hold something I had to get rid of them and secure my cards with screws.identical for the tough drive cage, remove all latches and scrwe all hard drives. attempted to used them but my tough drives were "dancing on the cage". the side fan's molex had one pin loose (but after push it back it perform nicely)quite challenging to get rid of the back plate, careful or you will cut your self. I can't stand the front fan's red led, most likely I will transform this soon.also this case does not have a reset button.

none Rebates from Thermaltake are like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. by the time you get there, they have already "discontinued" the rebate form. You also will need to have world wide web connection to fill the form BUT that isn't adequate, you ALSO need to send in a PRINTED form by MAIL. they basically are creating this as difficult as possible so as to make it impossible or nearly so to get that rebate. Now you only get 3 or 4 days do to the vital inputing of information on their site ahead of the rebate quantity is discontinued (and that is if you get the item on the initially day of the rebate, if you get it on the final, forget it, you will never ever get a likelihood). This is typical of con males, and now I know who runs thermaltake. Don't EVER expect to get their rebate, so don't even calculate that as portion of the price tag. You WILL spend full price with them. I did not contain this with the other evaluation I produced simply because it is about the rebate rather than the item, it will not apply to everyone. But buyer beware with these clowns. Don't ever expect customer service from them. If I could I would send the case back to newegg and have them deal with these persons.

Clean looking no fancy ledBlack everywhere,, interior tooSuperb AiflowCase Fans are silent ( when they are new)fit most of the video cards The 230mm fans are really poor, the one on the side panel started to whine two months after i purchased this case and the a single on the top rated simply stopped to function about 6 month immediately after i got this case and i don't truly want to waste ษ of shipping just to rma them, i asked to thermaltake if they could just send me new ones devoid of shipping them the broken ones and they mentioned no. :(No cable management at all.The tooless pci holder is trash it hold certainly absolutely nothing.Th back of my case was bent a little and my video card barely align in the slot.Bottom mounted power supply is great but the air intake hole on it is too smaller for my 140mm fan in my psu and if i use the dust filter on it its shut down (overheat protection) For those complaining about the huge fan, you can replace them, these are OEM fan made by a certain unknown business, lot of instances do use there, thermaltake v9,corsair graphite ,raidmax, xigmatek, and so on ... Search for Xigmatek 200mm on new egg theses are the same exact fan than those in the v9 black edition but with diverse colors.Overall ok case for a gamer, but not the best one particular for its cost.

Sturdy metal case, tool less style Top fan, ugh. I can not use it. Suitable from the moment I opened the box. The fan grinds the bracket that holds it. I looked at it closely and can not decide the issue. The side fan does it too, but only when the panel is not pushed on all the way. These large fans just do not work, horrible style. Comment:
Lots of fan for air flowQuite Silent. Fans- Although the V9 has two oversized 23cm fans (one on top and one particular on side) they are rather brittle. I had to RMA the case on the day I got it b/c there was already a huge crack accross the leading fan rendering it unusable.Back I/O pannel- The protective I/O pannel that I got from my mobo hardly fits the case. The placement for the ATX mobo in the case is too close to the back pannel. But that could just be my distinct case. Either approaches the metal cassing in the back correct is TOO FLIMSY! You could effortlessly deform it.Slots for PCI cards- The Worst feature of this case is the lock program for the PCI cards. It is fully OBSOLETE! It does not basically lock anything in location. Immediately after placing my video card in, I realise that it hangs loosely from the back, i can wobble it around, planning to put a screw there to lock it in spot adequately. Cons heavily outweigh the Pros. Veary Flimsy case in spite of its looks.

Comment:
Two 200mm fans that run fairly quiet, overall sturdy style, lots of room inside the case. Be extremely careful exactly where and how you spot this case. The vent underneath the PSU can clog, and if it does, you threat blowing your PSU like what happened to mine this past weekend. The vent in the bottom clogged, but however there's no straightforward way to get it out with no tearing the whole computer apart. If it clogs, and your PSU can't pull air in from underneath the case, it will overheat and fail. Also, the screwless drive fasteners do not hold drives quite tightly, particularly on the 5.25 inch optical drives. Just pushing the button to open and close my DVD drive was enough to cause it to slide back and forth. The side panels are a pain to put on and take off, they will oftentimes not want to go on quite smoothly, and the overall design enables for wires to get in the way, and so on, when attempting to replace the panels. The key factor, although, is the three.5 bays and how poorly developed they are. I don't see why they were turned sideways; it is extremely challenging to get connections to three.five drives. This case would have been much better if they had not used a plastic mesh for the bottom air vent, and if the 3.five inch drives had not been turned sideways, and also if they had just employed standard thumbscrews instead of those loose-fitting plastic 'screwless' drive holders.

Cons:USB front connection shorting, top fan failure common.

Pros:Great Airflow, Good Design, LED light is nice and stays on a minute after you shut it down. easy install
Comment:
This is a overall good case, although I found that 2 years into the case life, the connection point for the front panel usb connections are failing, they will fail to detect a device causing constant detected signals. also if you have a usb plugged in and are using the headphone jacks next to it, the audio will be disconnected and reconnect every few seconds.also top fan as failed on me and one of my friends, sadly thermaltake has let me down, there new lines should be better but I will have to say pass on the case and save yourself some hard times.since the back panel works, I would have to say satisfactory but wouldn't buy again.

I disagree very with some of the reviews stating the fans have broken or the material is too brittle and fragile, I've had this tower for over 2 years and have not had one difficulty.-fans aren't as loud, especially the 230mm fans, compared to other towers-a lot of cool airflow, components haven't overheated as soon as even with OC-back of the tower has two pre-drilled holes if you want to do liquid cooling only issue I had was the tool-much less braces/fasteners. Luckily I only needed 4 slots to be applied, but 2 of the plastic knobs snapped although fastening either my HDDs or optical drives. some individuals had been complaining about their mobo slots or not sufficient room for their cables. 1st, make positive you obtain the Appropriate size motherboard and tower, otherwise it naturally won't fit. Secondly, if you know how to manage your wiring appropriately, you'll see there's plenty of room to stay away from collecting dust and producing the inside appear clean. Wish I had a lot more money to buy the same model with the window side panel when I had bought this at the time.

Comment:
The case is roomy for a mid-size tower, I'll give it that a lot. That's it. That's the only positive thing I have to say about the case. By far, the worst concern is with the fans. The blades on them are so thin and flimsy that, within 2 weeks of use, half of the blades had broken off from each fan, rendering them useless. The case as a entire is flimsy, being effortlessly bendable with mere finger pressure, especially the back plate. And the "tool-less" bracket for holding PCI cards and the like in place simply does not perform; I ended up removing it and utilizing screws to secure my cards. Ditto for the brackets that are supposed to hold HDD/Optical drives in location; they don't work either. To add insult to injury, soon after two months of attempting to communicate these issue to Thermaltake, I have in no way heard back from them, either by way of email or phone or carrier pigeon. Not once. Ever. I purchased a new case and put the V9 in my dumpster for recycling. Do not waste your dollars with this case.

cooling in this method is good. the design of the outside along with placement of energy/reset button and case usb ports are good. even though most situations allow to get rid of both left and right side panels, this is one more plus that i would add to this. not to mention, the capability to add a smaller fan behind the motherboard for cooling is good to have as well to aid with cooling. even although i like the cooling style, i the case is flimsy. the design is by no indicates solid. it will shift as if it was held together by screws that werent tight. the top portion that houses the upper 120mm fan comes off uncomplicated. snaps back in just as uncomplicated, but if you arent careful, you will pinch the fan blades in between the top cover and the case. which, happened to me although putting this together. the speedy snaps for video/harddrives would be good to have if they werent cheaply made and didnt suck. really should function superior in theory, but receiving them lined up with the holes or slots isnt as straightforward as you would think. the pins to go into the screw holes for the HD pop out of the clip very easily when you try to put it in. even though fighting with it, i would have rather just dealth with regular screws. not necessarily that its just this case, but the clearance underneath the case worries me when it comes to the power supply cooling intake. considering that it sucks air from underneath to cool the PS, the much less than 1 inch clearance worries me when it comes to getting enough airflow. most cases will probably be the exact same, but i just propped somethign underneath each of the feet to hold it a small higher. also, possibly not the very best location for energy supply intake if you keep your personal computer on a carpeted location.

Fits all my stuff, looks cool with red lights, has front ports. Comes with all the fans I require in my builds. I've observed McDonald's HappyMeal toys built with superior plastic/engineering. Two of the fans have gotten jammed up on their casing, and I've had to rig it with paperclips in order to get them to operate at all. The power button is a piece of garbage, and it by no means boots on the first try - I feel like my machine will be much better off in a competitor's case that begins with an A. This ruined my construct I was attempting to use for function.

I almost scratched my motherboard doing this, and I'm not amateur at putting machines together.Buttons are laughably low-cost 1: Graphics card was far more challenging to install than it really should be. two: The reset button wiring on my chassis is faulty. Somehow this prevents the entire PC from starting? Every little thing works fine without the reset button wire connected. Now I have to reinstall every thing in some other chassis...thanks to this one set of wires. It is unlikely that I would ever get to use the reset button anyway as it needs the globe's tiniest hands to push.

Fantastic air flow. Love the 240 MM fans. Every thing fit inside perfectly. The lock downs for the drives broke off. Be cautious when adding a drive. I discovered that when you lock a drive in, the lock downs break off if you try to put a drive back into the same slot. It is a wonderful case for keeping points cool. The lock downs are flimsy at very best.

Dual 230mm fans?!?! And one of them is on the side?! SOLD! I've been needing something to give ample air to my SLI'd 470s (which are on non-stock fans) and this is it!It's quieter than my friend's Nine Hundred Two which I uncover odd given the price difference. Tool-less pci attachments...they are in no way as excellent as a good ol' screw but are removable...some came out less difficult than others and the roughest ones gave me a cut or two. I wish the fan in the front was blue...

Huge fans, not too loud. Looks very good. Inside a couple of months of ownership, best 23cm exhaust fan broke. A blade hit one thing and snapped off. Attempted to RMA the individul part, no response from Thermaltake. Fine, could've been a wire or one thing out of location but I believe not considering that the tower was by no means moved. Now, couple of months later metal seems to have warped or something mainly because both the side 23cm intake fan and the rear smaller exhaust fan are rattling loudly when the machine initially turns on. The 23cm side fan will stop ultimately but the rear fan will rattle for days unless case is opened and fan is prodded into submission. If you want a case that you can use for about a year, if that, I'd go with some thing else. The case has lots of room for further 3.5 tricky drives DVD Rom drives. The energy supply fits nicely at the bottom of the case. This keeps the case from being to top heavy. There are a lot of fans to promote correct air flow. A little bit noisy but not truly noticeable. The case is cheaply produced. The back panel has been stamped out of a single piece of thin metal. When removing filler pieces the frame about it bends and has to be put back into spot. The case has attempted to create speedy locks to secure your Tough Drives, CD/DVD Drives, and PCI Cards. All of the are really low cost as I had to rely on additional screws to secure the items effectively. The PCI Card locks were the worst I have ever noticed. The case does not lock the cards in at all and the plastics had to be removed. It was easy with two smaller screws but truly a wast of plastics. The documentation is horrible, I feel that if I did not know already what I was doing there would have been trouble. The photos and diagrams were not clear and offered no help at all. I guess I have grown fairly employed to Vendor specific case. They have truly invested allot of money and time into the engineering of the case to ensure ease of use. One thing i think this business need to really appear at.

Bought in Jan 2010 and 6 months later the top fan took a dump and stopped working. Major, quiet fans move a lot of air. Case is fairly understated without having any massive flashy LEDs (there is a dim red 1 on the front fan). Tool-much less drive slots are additional sturdy then I expected. The back panel of the case is quite flimsy, removing the port covering bent the expansion card slots and the port frame, creating it challenging to get the port covers that came with the mobo to secure in. The second case I was a bit far more careful and that created it less complicated but still less sturdy then I'd like. The tool-less expansion slots are not incredibly secure, the tabs don't hold my video card in very well so I may well end up having to put a screw in just for my peace of mind. The huge 240mm fan on the side panel was shattered when I pulled it out of the box - not a huge deal for me as I was taking that fan off but it would be a concern if you wanted to use it. Overall it's a nice case, keeps every little thing cool and isn't gaudy like so quite a few circumstances out there - not bad for 贄.
