Ultra 20/24 Pin Power Supply Tester

At first I was going to return this item. When I tested my sata plug the 3.3v light stayed dark. Then I realized the 3.3v wire is optional and my power supply did not supply that voltage to the sata plugs

I purchased this, because a computer that I was working on had all the symptoms of a bad power supply, and before I asked the customer to spend the money on the new power supply I wanted to know for sure. So I ordered it and it read correctly on multiple other Power supplies, but when it came to the one I actually needed it for, it indicated that the customers power supply was good....I replaced it anyway and fixed all the problems the customer was having. So don't put all your faith in this product, because it can be wrong on occasion.

Tester works as advertised....like having all the multi ports for testing all the connectors on the power supply........most testers I have seen only tested the 24pin mobo connection.

PSU Tester does exactly what it said it would do. An essential for any PC Repair tech. I should have bought one years ago.

Works really good but now I have a 1200watt psu so I dont think I should test with this says not recommended for over 1000watt. But still good to have.

As an IT Admin, I needed something that would give me a quick problem solver for power supplies. This unit does just that. Plug it in and if you get lights you PSU is good, no lights, your PSU is bad - no brainer here.

Not a lot to talk about here. It does what it supposed to do, i.e. you plug in your power supply and it tells you weather or not you need to order a new power supply or a new systems board. Okay, that's not very technical, but you get the picture. I've been looking for one at a reasonable price that will test all the connectors this one will. If you need one, buy this one. I did.

This is an excellant product. I had some trouble with the sata port but this retailer replaced it promptly with no problems.

I should have bought one of these a long time ago as it eliminates all the guessing and time consuming trial & error process. The one thing that has not been mentioned here (that I could see), is the warranty period. It says 1 year on the web site but when you register at Ultra's web site it changes to a 3 year warranty. Actually, on the top front of the package card it states 3 year warranty with registration.

I bought this tester and have used it at the office, at home, and loaned it to friends. This tester quickly shows if a power supply is bad (and if a new one is operating properly). Sometimes a power problem can be with the motherboard or it is connected improperly. This tester saves time by definitively showing if the problem is the power supply. Power supplies were generally reliable and seldom failed until the last few years. I've had one fail, replaced it with a cheap one and then it failed within three months and fried my motherboard. I've diagnosed several failed power supplies for others with this tester. You may not use it often, but you'll be glad you have it if you need one.
