Ultra 20/24 Pin Power Supply Tester

I was a little confused at first as to how it worked but thats what the instructions are for. It worked just fine and let me know that I had a problem with my PSU rather than the motherboard. Very happy I invested the few bucks for this rather than buying a new MB.

Got this to test some powere supplies I had stipped off old computers before. Certainly save me hours using a DMM. Always stays in my electronics tool kit. A must have for anyone working on PCs.

Don't be without this tester. It saved me hours of troubleshooting when I found the -3v on a new PSU to be dead. Easy to use and it looks nice too. You can not go wrong with an Ultra product.

Good quality tester. I wish it would tell me if the PSU is straight up bad when it still powers on, but maybe just not shooting enough juice. I tested on two of the working PSUs I have and they beep loud and light up. The one that I have been having problems with will still light up, but the beep is very very low or almost not audible at all, but the lights still show. Somehow, if this little gadget could catch that it would be great! I guess I would consider this PSU not functional because it still powers up, but it just doesn't have enough juice to run the hard drive through. Overall, I think it's a great little device to have in your tool box.

I just received this product today. Great little tester for power supplies! I repair computers for a living and this sure beats backprobing connectors with a multimeter. Just two things in case anyone wants to know. Directions say to plug power supply into outlet, plug main (p1) connector into tester, then switch on power supply, one beep and voltages that your power supply supports will light up. The way to switch on a power supply that has no external switch is to first plug the power supply into a power strip with an on/off connector (in the off position) then plug in to the tester, then switch on the power strip (this essentially is an on/off switch). Also you have to have the main p1 connector plugged into the tester in order to test any of the other connectors :D

Great little tester for the tool case. Small and easy to use. It would be nice if it had a test button to toggle the power on signal on and off as if switched by the Motherboard. The price is good and seems to be fairly well made. LEDS are bright and the variation of input jacks will test just about any power supply out there.

All I can say is WOW! I work on computers on the side and one client's computer for some reason wasn't always getting power to all components and I had a hunch about the PSU and this device reaffirmed my assumption. The fact that you can test almost all the types of power cables is great! The main accessory cable on the factory PSU was toast. I didn't save them money (had to buy a new PSU) but I did save them (and me) a lot of headaches.

I have been building and working with PCs for many years and was rather skeptical about purchasing this. But, eventually I talked myself into purchasing it and I have been very impressed with the quality, value, and usability of the tool. By complete coincidence, I needed the tester to test a server at my workplace and I had it handy the day after I got it. You really never know when you will need it and would recommend it for any tech-head's toolbox. If the power supply is working, the tester allows you to turn the computer on to test drives, fans, etc. It saved me from buying a motherboard I did not need!

I too found out a PS was not bad with this, I also used it to test an upgrade to another computer, nice to have at the shop just in case. Everything is clearly marked and instruction very clear.

Purchased this to test a power supply i thought was toasted, and not only was i able to find out i was correct, but i was able to find out which rail was defective and having issues. I have since tested SEVERAL PSU's and this has saved me alot of headache and torture. Very easy to use. Thanks Tiger!

A simple, inexpensive, yet effective tool to have with you for those times your just not sure about the power supply. Eliminates the hassle of swapping out supplies just to ''see'' if that's the problem. Wish I would have bought this item a lot sooner . . .

Are you building a PC or just tinkering with one and you don't know if a problem is with the MOBO or the PSU? Do you just want to eliminate or identify the PSU as the culprit? Well this is about as easy as it gets.

Anyone who works with computers should have this in their tool kit, it has paid for itself 100 times over in saved troubleshooting time in the 3 months I have used it.

No doubt about it these little gizmos really save a lot of headaches! Now days you never know if there is a mother board shut down command or some other nonsense. This unit bypasses any of the extraneous possibilities. No more fumbling with a stupid meter. Has all the plug ins you'll need to make that important desision. Seems like PSUs have minds of their own, but you take over with this gadget! I got two for the price of one!

This is a must have unit. You've got to add one to your tool box. Use in combination with a multimeter and you can never go wrong. It helped me verify I had a bad ATX power supply, because it creates a load environment. It also helped me convert an old IBM AT/P1/P2/P10/P11 power supply to an ATX configuration by verifying the proper rails and remote switch. I was able to quickly repair 2 computers thanks to this handy tester.

This is a great go/no-go tester. It won't give you the exact voltage, but will indicate it's in the proper range. One caveat, when testing the other outputs, you need to leave the 20/24 pin connector from the power supply connected. The instructions don't tell you this, but it won't work properly otherwise.
