This is a excellent harddrive cooler. It does precisely what it says, and does so rather nicely. The temperatures of my harddrives dropped various degrees. Solid construction, not noisy. A drive with this point on will not fit in any standard internal 3.5 bay. The cooler is as wide as the drive so the additional height will make screw holes misaligned, plus the protruding screws will stop you from sliding the drive into the bay. Questioning why no one has bothered to point out in all the reviews that for an underside cooler, it's impossible to use with the most common internal three.five bay.

The fans each work. It looked nice for the two minutes it was outside my situation. It seems to be keeping my 1TB 7200 RPM WD Black a little cooler. Least expensive part of my technique, by far. The lip utilized to mount the heat sink to the HDD comes out to the quite edge. The screws will not match up on the HDD and the bracket. You have to bend the lip down if you want it to fit. I had to get my small brother to screw it in while I held it in place. also heat rises so a fan that mounts to the bottom of something seems to not make also a lot sense. Possibly very good for a less costly personal computer case, but if you have a affordable computer system i don't feel you'd will need a HDD heat sink.It way also have been additional challenging for me due to the fact I have so several cords. Excellent facrication. Frame is extruded and anodized. Not loud. Fans are tiny. Mounted proper on the surface of the drive, there is no circulation path for air to travel through. Four-pin power connector requires diddling with an adaptor. I program to swap it out for a single-fan unit and compare temperatures.
