Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:None
Pros:Appears well constructed, low profile Comment:
A great auxilliary HD cooler for any HD's that are running hot. Low profile to ease installation where drive bay room is not generous.Have yet to see if the difference is significant. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:None
Pros:CheapWorks WellEasy to Install Comment:
Well very basic device, comes with everything you need for a quick install. My PC is fairly loud as it is so I cant comment on the noise level, however lowered the temp of my WD Raptor 150GB by a few degrees, and every degree counts! |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:Hard to install into drive bay once installed
Pros:Can barely hear itLowers hard drive temps by 5-10 C Comment:
Does exactly what it should do. Normally my HD idle temps are at 35-40 C, but now they hover around 30-33 C. I've even seen it go down to 28 C.Great way to get some cooling into your HD and extend it's life a bit. Make sure you get good airflow into your case though. If you have one of those cheapo generic cases or the older style cases where the HDD bays have screw holes which you align when you install the drive, be prepared to do a little bit of work on modifying your HDD bay to accept the hard driver with the cooler attached. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:-fans fall apart after 4 months
Pros:-cheap-effetive-uses 1 extra drive bay. Comment:
All in all, its not bad, but after 4 months my fans started to rattle. I (personally) like the 4 pin (HDD type) power connecter, over the Motherboard type. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:not good with hdd drive bays that have legs to support the hdd. One of my com case has metal pieces tilted outward to support my hdd.
Pros:really cools down my HDD Comment:
In total I've purchased 3 of these HDD coolers. It works good. It actually cools down my hdds. My sister has two one for each of her ATA HDDs and I have one for my SATA. The temps are very good. My SATA is 25 celcius. My sis's Maxtor ATA is like 18 celcius, but she's in Kamloops. I used HDD health to her hdd temps and I used PC Wizard 2005 to read it for my SATA. I love the Blue chrome color for the heat sink. I'll definitely by them for all my hdds in the future. Must have product. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:a bit noisytakes one 3.5 slot
Pros:keeps your hdd cool Comment:
Does the job at keeping your hdd cool just fine. Although it can be a bit noisy at times. If you can put an 80mm fan in front of your hdds, it would be better and a bit cheaper to do so. Right I am using this in a modded hdd external enclosure. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:- none yet
Pros:- quiet- cheap- purty Comment:
I bought three of these for two of my boxes and they're pretty good. It does what it claims and brought down my HD temps quite a few degrees. You'd think that the 5000rpm fans would be noisy, but I couldn't hear them at all.If you want to help keep your hard drives cooler and prolong the life of them, I recommend getting these, they work and work well.Recommended. Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:-a little loud-doesn't keep hard drive as cool as expected
Pros:-not too loud-useful during summer-good craftsmanship-doesn't touch the PCB(not pressure) Comment:
Recommended for people who have any newer 7200rpm hard drives. For some reason, newer 7200rpm drives are getting hotter. This didn't fit well in my case so I had to destroy one of the drive bay mounts. I think they should have made it thinner. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:May not fit in your case
Pros:Drops the HD temperature down a few degrees Comment:
This cooler works great. It dropped the temperature of my HD a few degrees. The only thing is that it may not always fit inside your case, depending on how the hard disk mounts. I have 4 HDs in my computer so there wasn't any room to put a cooler for each HD. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:- Could be quieter- Cheap fans
Pros:- Reasonble noise level- Coolers fairly well- Cheap Comment:
The fans on these are 0.15A and have a bit of a whine to them but they're reasonably quiet. If you want a really quiet system you may find them a bit noisy but most people probably wouldn't notice them in their cases. If you ran them on 7V I imagine they'd be totally silent although I didn't try it.Considering the price of this and the fact that NCIX does not sell 50mm fans I figure some people might want to buy this just for the fans. Both fans are hard wired into a single 4pin power connector so if you want to use both fans for something other then this cooler you'll just have to snip off the wires on one but for the other you'll have to do a bit of work to wire it up to a new power connector.I have no significant complaints about this cooler. When considering the price I think it's an exception deal. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:Hard to fit of 2 or more HD's are installed
Pros:Super Quiet, Loweres HD temps by at least 10 degrees Comment:
I am very impressed of this HD Fan. Installed quick and easy, Takes minimal power and Super quiet when operating. Noticed a small increase in data transfer when the computer has been on for a while, and the lower temps are probably the cause. I would highly reccomend this fan and I am getting another soon. If you are looking for a better alternative to bigger case fans.. look no further than this! |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:Cord is too long
Pros:Keeps HDD Cold (10°C cooler in my case)Small Comment:
This little gizmo is pretty amazing, it lowered my HDD temps about 10°C! It's not that loud, either. The only thing I don't like about it is the length of the cord. For something that is meant to just be a pass-through connector on the hard drive, it has an amazingly long cord that you have to tuck away. |

Vantec Aluminum Hard Drive Cooler with Dual Fans - Model HDC-502A
Cons:Doesn't fit properly in some cases (see my review summary)Not quiet
Pros:Does a good job keeping hard drives coolCheap Comment:
Installation was simple. Screw the heatsink underneath the hard drive, install hard drive as usual, plug in a molex and you're good to go. Does a good job a cooling. The noise level isn't that bad relative to most systems. However, if you're aiming at a quiet system, stay away unless you plan on using a fan controller with this product. It does undervolt quite nicely. Warning: If your hard drive bays have guides to keep the hard drive from falling vertically during installation, you can't install this cooler properly. The heatsink will rest on the guide instead, making the mounting holes on the hard drive misaligned with those on the hard drive cage. Check before buying - this is a major drawback. |

Cons:None
Pros:Looks niceNot expensiveEasy to install Comment:
Nice looking unit, keeps my HD's cool and it didn't cost me a lot of dough either... Highly recommended! |
The two fans sit pretty tight to the harddrive and don't leave a lot of space for the air to flow. I would have prefered another millimeter or two distance from the HD.Definitely keeps the HD very cool - which depends a lot on your case temperature.
