Variable Speed controll is straightforward with a little nob on the back of the PCI slot so no cover-off is required. The unit is thin adequate that I was able to use one beneath the Silent-Pipe radiator that came with my Gigabyte Extreme mother board and above the ATI Radeon HD 4870 Overclocked video card and second Vantec cooler beneath the very same video card like a sandwich. This gave a great up-draft impact and feeds directly into the Thermaltake V1 CPU cooler and out the roof of the Antec 1200's 200mm top fan. This mixture is looking fantastic and liquid cooling has no been needed. None. I did require to trim just a smaller piece off the edge that was subsequent to the Patriot Viper 4G DDR3 due to the close layout of the mother board. I have added these to my other computers and one particular I have constructed for other individuals also. Any space that could be a dead-air-space be certain to add 1 of these. Dead air just gets hotter and hotter.

Comment:
This little device pushes a decent amount of air. I discover that if you couple this with a PCI slot exhaust, it can effortlessly quadruple airflow by blowing through the exhaust slot-fan directly and creating a static pressure to pull cold air via your case. I haven't tried however but with a little tweaking (unscrew, flip, rescrew) you can have this blow in either an up or down position. It comes setup to blow air down; mine correct now is setup a single slot beneath my 4870-X2 and it has dropped my temps 6c, both on my card and in my case, simply by making a flow of air that goes down then returns by means of the cards blower. Excellent item, wonderful buy. Dollars undoubtedly nicely spent. For someone not utilised to or somebody who doesn't use air cooling extensively, the sound can be cumbersome though in all honesty, it's not that loud; only on a higher setting could it bother any person even though 75-80% speed isn't audibly annoying at all. The construction on this fan is largely plastic but it feels really durable and properly produced. The slider on back feels really all-natural and smooth as properly as, once more, quite nicely constructed. It fits firm into a PCI slot; nothing at all about this fan feels low cost at all, except the cost which in itself is a very good thing thinking about how well this is built and how properly it functions. Just be certain you realize properly the layout of your case to use this appropriately, other than that if you're on edge as to no matter if or not buy it: just go for it! Again, its money properly spent! A+

The fan seems to do it's job, even at low speed (see CONS). I'm operating an NVidia 8800GT and this has dropped the ambient temp. down about 8 deg. C to about 46 (at low). Simple to install and the power cord is great and long so you can reach a absolutely free Molex with ease. Situation appears sturdy (it looks a lot flimsier in the image). Excellent for what it's intended to do (pull air over the cards... but not necessarily out of the case). Critical gamers really should appear elsewhere for cooling solutions. It's loud. I have it set for low, because higher speeds are quite annoying. Perhaps I'm overreacting because the PSU and CPU fans are comparatively quiet, and a "noisy" fan is somewhat new to me. Time will inform no matter if my brain can get accustomed to the "racket". I'm disappointed that it isn't more versatile. It would have been a nice touch to add a total set of snap-off tabs so you could also use the vacant PCIe x1 slot, rather of eating up a PCI slot. My E520 omly has 2 of those, so I had to take away the modem. Is there Anybody presently employing their PCIe x1 slot? Seems like a great place for a slot fan! Get my drift right here?Did I mention it's LOUD? LEDs are a non-concern for me since you can't see them through my Dimension E520 Minitower situation (unless you get down on the floor and peer by way of the vent holes). Fans are not reversible... that would add to my versatility gripes. And ... oh yeah... manual speed handle.

Blue LEDs. Adjustable fan speed. Performs effectively. Isn't loud, not that it matters to me but some could want to know. None for me so far. Some may possibly not like how bright the LEDs are in a dark room, but they don't bother me. If you have a case with a clear side or the side removed, it will certainly be vivid for you. In my case, it casts a funky blue glow by way of the vents. I have this in a Cooler Master Elite 335 ATX RoHS Mid-Tower Case with an EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 video card, EVGA nForce 790i Ultra SLI mobo, Corsair 850TX PSU, 4GB RAM, Thermaltake V1 CPU Cooler, Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000B tough drive, Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 processor, and an LG GH22NS50 22X DVDRW. I don't have the fan in the finest slot due to the video card, but it nevertheless functions nicely and assists retain issues cooler.

These units rock! With the dual 70mm fans in the space of a single PCI slot it fit excellently in involving the Radiator that comes with the Gigabyte EP-45T-Extreme motherboard and the large Diamond 4870 HD video card. This combo blow's straith up into the radiator that cools the north bridge, via the Thermaltake V1 CPU cooler and out the 200mm ceiling fan on the Antec 900 Intense Gamers Case maintaining the process temp. down to 107FኅC and the CPU temp. at 78FቱC. The second a single I placed under the video card because it was really hot to the touch even on the outdoors of the plastic fan ducting developed to cool the video card it's self. None. Even on high I only observed the sound when I opened the case and throttled it down to test lower speed settings which you seriously don't require to do mainly because the fan speed handle is on the outdoors of the case on the PCI slot. I just wanted to touch the bottom of the video card to see how well it was working.

Lowered my common temps by about 7-9 C. The lights on the fan are noticeable but not too vibrant. Even at its highest setting it is nevertheless fairly quiet. I guess I was expecting a little far more from it. It would have been nice if it could blow out some of the air it swirls about.

Dual Fans, fit PCI slots, speed control Not flexible adequate for cooling a video card. For instance, A dual Slots Video card has personal fan cooling system on the lower side. However this factor blows air from beneath to top rated. If you insert it above the Video card, it does suck some hot air upward, but it is not successful enough to lessen 5C. Can\'t use it on 4870 successfully.I reverse the slot stand, but it's not stable.

Very vibrant, moves ALOT of air and the speed control slider at the back is effectively thaught out, all round very good desing and incredibly rapidly shipping. Oh, it also droped my situation temp by couple degrees, wonderful air circulation. As i said above, incredibly bright but it is a incredibly "diffrent" shade of blue, almost purple which dissipoints me but it isnt as noticeable if you have a lot of other blue lights in your case. This issue could take off if its not screw ed into place, the great air circulation comes at a cost; this is the loudest thing in my situation, even at the lowest speed its louder than my mother. Wonderful desing (other than decibals and colour). The speed select slider is a fantastic thought, offers you low to high and anyplace inbewteen. Super quick shipping, thanks Newegg.

Really straightforward install/ speed controller on back of cooler is good/ don't want to be concerned about internal fan controls. LED's are Bright! Could be a con to a person that want's to use an internal fan controller, no way to plug into a single. Fans do get very loud after you get previous 70% complete speed. That just offers me a purpose to acquire much better computer speakers, lol. Just a tip.. if this cooler is mounted parallel to your vid card, make confident you peel the model # stickers off your vid cards initially.. Immediately after 5 min of obtaining fans at 100%, they blew the sticker off mine and it ended up in a single of the fans causing it to lock up. Sounded like the card blew up as much racket as that made, sounded like a poker card in a bicycle wheel! Cleared sticker out of fan and it spooled back up just fine, no damage performed. Works effectively in conjunction with the Tt TMG SL1 dual slot situation cooler, and a set of Tt situation fans venting across the vid card blowing up and out the back of the situation. Dropped temp 12 degrees and remained constant after a couple of hours of complete load gaming. All these component's blue LED's match nice too..

Can be secured into PCI slot with screws. Just blows air around. My situation currently had decent airflow. Was searching for a item that pulled air down and out of case. There are a lot of those black PCI slot fans that do such, but don't have the right mounting bracket and finish up rattling after a couple months of use. This 1 had the suitable mounting bracket, but doesn't pull air out. Not incredibly functionally.

I'm employing this product to awesome a fanless xfx 8500gt. Lucky for me, my pci slot is close adequate to my card that it provides sufficiant cooling of the card. I had to move around remove a useless 56k ethernet card, but that was okay. I'm also glad it plugs into a molex psu connector and not a fan connector on my mobo. I suggest this card if you don't thoughts the following cons. This sucker is loud! Esspessially at high setting. I'm also not a fan of lights inside my computer case. I was about to modify the pci teeth on the card so I didn't have to plug it into a pci slot, but I decided to just move issues about in my case. Not a large deal. newegg rocks!

1. Easily fits beneath a GPU. Works properly to cool GPUs that do not awesome the memory, or to just help the GPU fan. I use it in my old computer system (new 1 has red LEDs) and it keeps my Geforce 8500 awesome. Even these days it moves a lot of air. The blue LED does start off to fade, but hey, the fans are nonetheless operating soon after practically 3 years now, and excellent. They can be loud turned all the way up, but that is the cost you spend for smaller fans. It functions excellent cooling GPUs. If it had been avaliable without an LED or with a red a single, I would acquire a new 1 for my new rig in a heart beat. I run my present fan at about 50% and if I had some thing like this supporting it I could lower the fan speed and overclock the GPU some a lot more.Wonderful fan, I just wish it came without LED's or with red ones.
