Works just fine for me!
Comment:
For what it's meant for, this card is a good deal. I plugged it in to my PC in the basement and got 80% signal strength in my garage. And it installs easily as long as the user follows the directions and doesn't install the card until the driver, etc. is installed first. All in all, a good deal for the advertised price.

Unreliable. Avoid like the plague.
Comment:
I installed this in my desktop PC to work with the router-gateway installed in the next room. The throughput was noteably less than other machines both wired and wireless using the same gateway. Additionally the signal would frequently cute out sometimes locking up the router to where holding in the reset pin would not work. In this case there iss a reason why the card is noteably cheaper than all the others.

Review from a Gamer.
Comment:
I bought this product for the purpose of gaming online. When I first got it I thought wow! This adapter is great! 80% from in the garage, and the router is above the adjacent indoor room. However, my review plummets after I play games. For some reason, this adapter ALWAYS cuts out after about 5 minutes of online play. And then my entire connection shuts off on the computer. This product is good, if you aren't playing online games at all. However, this greatly hurts its score. Additional info: My router is a DIR-655.

wireless networks
Comment:
I use one of these in my home with wireless G standard the connection will at time be between 36 and than up to 54 bps the connection will never be a constant speed. I Play on-line games and use Ethernet connection. which is a more steady rate I have less lag with this than any wireless connection. Ethernet has a 100 bps where as if you use wireless G the max is 54 bps draft N is around 150 in some houses. never expect than you will get the max connection speed in your house this will always vary.

I have installed about 5 of these on area computers, 2 have worked for about 3 months and quit. The other 3 seem to still be working. You get what you pay for!

While the price is good, the hw and sw suck
Comment:
I installed this card the other day. While it boasts 54.00 mbps, it says currently it's giving me 11 - 18. I don't know what that's about. But here's the real problem: the software it tells you you 'must' install. I play online games pretty often, and in the middle of the game, the internet connection would cut off, and my CPU usage would spike between 0 and 100 every 5 seconds, and no matter what programs I ended, it wouldn't help. I had to restart my computer to fix it, and if I did any high bandwidth requiring tasks, it would do this again. Solution: Uninstall the software it tells you to install before installing the card. To get this card to work, you have to install the card and turn on your computer. Windows will recognize new hardware and ask you if it can search for drivers. Insert the CD into your drive and let it search. DO NOT install anything from the CD other than what windows does automatically when it finds new hardware. It will work regardless of what they tell you.

Works on Windows 7 out-of-the-box
Comment:
I was looking for a wireless card that would work with Windows 7 x64. I was pleasantly surprised when I plugged this card into the PC and Windows 7 installed the drivers immediately. I didn't have to download a driver or use the CD. Perfect.

Fail Card
Comment:
Hard to get working, maybe its just vista but I couldn't use with vista or the connection had problems. Loaded xp worked fine but my signal was horrible I lagged in LAN games. Maybe my card got messed up, I have other computers connected to the same network with a different card... the range is the same as my other computers. All windows xp, I am not sure what the problem was and I have looked at sites to find the problem but no help. Maybe it works for you but didn't for me...

Good hardware, but...
Comment:
The hardware is fine, but I never did get the driver to work by following the directions (for WinXP). The supplied software installed the driver fine, but I gave up trying to use it with DHCP. The only way I got it to work was to assign an IP address manually; thankfully I knew how to do that on my own. The driver install also modified the Windows login screen and changed the clock from 12-hour to 24-hour format. I don't appreciate unnecessary system changes happening like that with an install. I gave it a 3-star Quality rating for the software; once I got it going the NIC has worked fine.

I see a lot of complaints on this wireless adapter, but it worked fine for me. Installed without a hitch on windows XP system (actually a very old computer I'm bringing back to life). I get fast connections and excellent reception to my main FIOS box downstairs. I haven't had any problems with it.

Thought the price was right, but after 3 days of trying everything (even TrendNet's tech support had nothing else for me to try) could not get the card to connect to my network. DO NOT waste your time and $, like I did.

WIRELESS 802.11G 54MBPS PCI CARD TRENDNET
Comment:
I came home at 9 at night. Installed it on my computer and i stayed up til 4 in the morning trying to getthis thing to work. Never in my life i have never been so frustrated. I felt like breaking this thing in half. 7 hours of frustration.... Just unbelievable. Coudnt connect to the right router. Even when it did it still didnt work. The connection utility kept crashing and didnt want to start. It also kept freezing my computer every 3 to 5 seconds... Thats just a few of the problems. Returned it the next day. Im going to get a linkys brand instead. Horrible product.

Got this for a HTPC that we didn't want to route a cable to, works great. Just install it, and put the in disk when windows finds new hardware and install the drivers thru windows. That way you don't have to install dumb Trendnet software, just use the windows wi-fi tool.

WIRELESS 802.11G 54MBPS PCI CARD TRENDNET
Comment:
This card is great. I purchase them for all the installs I use for small businesses. I've put them in both Vista and XP systems. And Vista already has the realtek drivers for them, so it's truly PnP. And for XP, just load the device driver, and you're set. Why these other people had problems, I don't know. But I use these PCI cards all the time

WIRELESS 802.11G 54MBPS PCI CARD TRENDNET
Comment:
If you only ever have ONE wireless card connecting to your network, and you never have to change any driver values, then this card is for you. Otherwise, consider it wireless cancer. One single card will oversaturate your wireless network, effectively cutting everyone else off, and attempts to fix this in the driver settings kills the PC.

This card is junk. Tried several configurations with and without every security type. Bought two for two different XP machines on 2 different routers. The utility would show strong signal strength and high quality signal but wouldn't acquire an IP address. Stay away from this thing.

WIRELESS 802.11G 54MBPS PCI CARD TRENDNET
Comment:
Have had this card for 6+ months and it has been nothing but trouble from the start. I have tried it in multiple computers with the same results every time. The card will lose connection to my network periodically for no apparent reason and will not reconnect until I reboot my computer, and it locks up the Windows Connection Tray app when it would lose the connection which in turn would sometimes locks up windows as well. Unfortunately, I bought this wireless card despite the low ratings. Will not be buying trendnet products anytime soon.
