Pros: SATA3 (didn't notice performance different to SATA2) Comment: Have two in RAID0, partition it to keep OS, program, data organize. I am really scare to put anything on this RAID just afraid I might loose it if one hard drive fail. Ironic, that I use a slower drive more than RAID0 setup, knowing RAID0 is faster. Sound is a bit loud over the 1TB black not really bother me. Was a fan of WD, hard drive fail, switch to Seagate, now back to WD. LOL. Finger cross.

It is extremely quiet and performs much better than expected. Also nice is the low power consumption. The suggested 400w minimum power supply is a good idea, but it would do fine even with 350 watts. The quality more than makes up for the smaller capacity.

The speed is adequate. I'm not disappointed with this Caviar Black series drive. SSD are still too expensive so this is a good alternative.The price is also interesting if you wait for a weekly special to buy.The noise level can be quite annoying though. You can hear the drive work when downloading or copying files. This is quite disappointing since this is the only sound I can hear coming out of my case.

They all have been reliable and quiet. For the price on sale, you can't beat it. Running in SATA2 3gb/s mode was simple as a jumper installation as shown on the label. Didn't need SATA3-6gb/s drive, just a SATA2-3gb/s to replace a dying 'OS drive' on a computer with a SATA2 controller

I would believe than a slimmer drive with only one platter means less chance of something going wrong. Pros: Caviar black at this price range seems to be the fastest hard drive you can buy Capacity Speed Comment: Being a two platters drives it looks big, at least compared to a single 500gb platter seagate barracuda.I wasn't ready to move to SSDs yet, but I wanted to upgrade my older 7200.10 320gb barracuda.Sure it's quieter but that could also be because it's three years newer too. I would recommend it to everyone who are yet not ready to buy an SSD but still want to upgrade their hard drive to a faster solution.

Its a bit expensive compared to 1TB drives out there, but it is still good quality and enough space for most people. I am currently using it a supplement to my 1TB caviar green, but I still notice the jump in speed. I would recommend it to anyone with a SATA3 port.
