Efficiency of drive so far has been great! None Shipping this time around sucked.... Not Newegg's fault although dam UPS weather delays produced a no cost three day shipping turn into a week. Freaking insane. Not a big situation although I have my drive and the box for after didn't appear to be mutilated....

Comment: I recently got one of these for a low spec. business computer, and although it hasn't been used much yet, so far it seems ok.Two things that I noticed right away about this drive - it's VERY light(probably less platters inside than 500GB used to require), and so far it's also very quiet.Obviously, given the short time frame, I have no idea about the longevity of this drive, but since I've had pretty good luck, so far, with WD drives in recent years, this was my first choice for this size & price of drive.

I have these installed on my MSI 880GMA-E53 in a RAID config, on the sata 3 ports. ( 7-8 )HD Tune pro test has these about 200 MB/s with a 174 average. Not the advertized speed although I should admit my pc is extremly responsive and I shouldn't complain at all.Obtaining out also that if you have excellent sata cables from yester-year, upgrading to sata three cables with these drives will be a waste of dollars.I'd play it safe and purchase sata three cable if I had SSDs.Phenom X4 5508GBs OCZ black edition RAMHIS 5770Seasonic 530W PSU

I can undoubtedly make out the winding noise by means of my 7 fan cooling technique. For some purpose on my high-end gaming rig, this HDD created my Windows Knowledge Index a 5.1. But who cares anyways?

It stores things. It is fairly decent as a regular computer's OS drive. WD is reliable too, and it's fast enough. It's unfortunate that for that price, I used to be able to get a 1TB WD black, but oh well - times are difficult :)
