This issue is huge! Appears to cool quite effectively, for the most component. In a normal tower case (with energy supply at the leading and the motherboard just below on the proper-hand wall) this factor is designed to suck air from the 2" space in between it's fan and the energy supply and blow it downward by means of the heatsink toward the bottom of the situation. Shouldn't it blow the cooler air from the front of the situation and blow it rearward by means of the heatsink? The size of this may make it not match into some instances. Blowing hot air from the energy supply more than the heatsink's fins is almost certainly not the most effecient way to cool the CPU...

So far, it's working fantastic. Dropped my temps from someplace around 52C to 43-44C though playing WoW. significantly quieter than the stock AMD solution. "spoiler" appears useless, doesn't genuinely clip in nicely for me. Good bang for your buck. Paired this with a couple of xigmatek fans when the promo code was available and got every thing at a incredibly fantastic price tag.

-Keeps my p4 631 (o.c to 4.5 ghz) cool, ides at 18cቷ full load.-Comes with a lga1156 bracket, lga775 bracket, and am2 bracket.-Also came with a totally free tube of XIGMATEK PTI-G3606 thermal grease. -I wish it wasn't mounted with pushpins. -Fins cut my fingers up! If you have a smaller case and not a lot of money, this is the ideal heatsink.

Cheap...quiet...efficient style...heat pipes make direct speak to with cpu...tastes very good too. AMD clip feels a little cheap....was afraid i might break it.If you crank up the fan to total blast it sounds like an jet taking off. Applied on X3 720 @ 3.2ghz stock voltage. 24-26 idle with LOW fanspeed. Used Arctic silver due to the fact I couldn't resist spreading the supplied thermal grease on my face.

-Direct heat pipe cooling-Wonderful size on my mATX fits excellent-Cools great-Fits my 940 very good- -10c lower then stock heatsink though idle -five-7c while fullload -had to get SEPARATE crossbow brackets to mount on my amd mobo-stock fan appears a bit "slow" speed wise. On idle in my mid tower case my amd x4 940 with this cooler stays around 33-34c although idle ( lows 29-30c occasionally) and hasn't hit over 51c whilst complete load. Case has 2 120mm fans. 1 intake 1 exhaust. Fan on cooler is set up to blow air thru the cooler. Overall the only downfall is obtaining to order a 2nd element just to mount on my mobo. YOU CAN mount this on a AMD Mobo the way it is without having ordering the crossbow. The crossbow is so you can mount it "Properly" to have the airflow by means of the cpu and our the BACK exhaust. If you have an open best case with a fan on top this will work semi fine. Either way finest way for airflow and cooling is to acquire the kit for an added บ bucks. It could be less costly to get just a superior cooler or 1 that mounts fine on AMD immediately after you add on the บ for the brackets.-Thermaltake strike mx mid tower-ASUS M3A78-CM mATX mobo-AMD Phenom x4 940 BE @ stock three.0ghz-4GIG DDR2 Ram-GTX 460

Great design which doesnt get in the way of any fans or capacitors on my motherboard. Cools my AMD Phenom X4 9600 to about 85% when I have it at 100% load encoding MKV's employing Handbrake! What a lot more could you ask for! I also really like the rubber "pins" that you use to secure the fan to the heatsink! Vibration no cost is usually a fantastic thing! None! This thing does precisely what it must and you can not beat the cost! I was a tiny bit concerned with the very modest gaps in in between where the copper heat pipes meet with the aluminum block, but so far I havent had any heat concerns. I applied Arctic Silver compound with this and havent had any problems!

This Fan Is pretty silent as lengthy as you have a motherboard that controls Fan Speeds. THANK YOU NEW EGG! None, its a great fan, and Heatsink. Comes with thermal paste. Assembly requires a couple of minutes, but effectively worth it. It fit snuggly in a Micro ATX case. If i would have gotten the 120mm size i would have been in some difficulty. This size is also cheaper, but its effective and gets the job performed.

Incredible! This cpu cooler doesn't block any of my ram slots, its larger, quiete,r and more efficient than my stock cooler and all at a incredibly affordable price. It has a four pin connector and its a decent size but not also bulky as to stop it from fitting in a smaller sized case. Although its quieter than what it replaced, the fan is nevertheless a bit too loud for me thinking of that it is the loudest thing in my case. A new fan should remedy this challenge.

-Not pricey-Straight forward mounting process-Quiet-Cools nicely -> 13ºC improvement over stock HSF below one hundred% load -Vertical orientation only-Fan mounting to sink can be challenging For the cash this cools incredibly well. I paired it to my Gigabyte AM3 board & Phenom II X2 550BE. I ran some test with the default HSF and it hit a high of 57ºC under load. After altering the HSF it brought it down to 44ºC under one hundred% load following eight minutes! It idles at the exact same temp as the stock fan, but below load this shines. However I would have liked to mount this so the air blows front to back (and out the rear of the case) and not down to up or up to down. I knew this going in. I knew what I was obtaining, but this easy design change (or at least designing it with the option of changing the orientation) would be good. Even blowing upward, this performs properly. The HSF is a little significant, but that's to be anticipated with a nicer aftermarket cooler. I had no difficulty fitting it in my ATX case and no clearance concerns on my Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P board. It's extremely close to memory slots 1ž, but my memory resides in 3ƀ. If I could go back in time I'd purchase this ag

HDT, which indicates the pipes make direct get in touch with. Effortless as pie to install, took only a few minutes? Most of the time I spent acquiring the thermal compound on it effectively. You don't have to eliminate the backplate either. For AMD users, unless you acquire the bracket this factor only faces north or south. I didn't care because I have heat-rise airflow anyway. On the plus side, for AMD users this factor requires literally 10 seconds to clip on. Dunno how it is with intel customers, as I can't overview the push pins. Exceptional cooler, if you're comparing this to stock it will cool it about eight-ten degrees cooler on idle, but like 20 degrees cooler at load. AMD customers can only face this so the heatsink fan blows north or south. If you have an airflow method that exhausts the heat from the best you're gold.On another note: No second installation alternative for a second fan for push-pull config, unless you don't mind utilizing zipties. I purchased a 92mm since for some reason I don't really feel comfortable attaching a cpu cooler to my mobo that I can use as weights for working out. Excellent cooler, outstanding value, mine came with cost-free thermal compound from xigmatek that was also a joy to function with.

Most likely the finest bang for your buck as far as heatsink/fan combos go. Significant fan is effortless to attach with the supplied rubber tabs which minimize fan vibration, btw. Also, it's easy to replace the fan in case it should fail. Lots of surface location to dissipate heat. I used the stock thermal paste. Despite the fact that it's rather substantial it's not that heavy like some other heatsinks. It won't trigger any undue weight anxiety on the mobo or cpu. Would be great if you could orient the fan or heatsink so it can blow air horizontally as properly as vertically, but it's not that huge a deal. They could've designed the base so you could orient the fins vertically or horizontally or, they could've designed the fins much more like a square (looking from the best) so you could maybe mount the fan according to how you want the air to flow.

One particular of the Ideal heat sink's styles ever. Cooled my amd 64 x2 6000+ at 3.3ghz which use to run at 53-54C at high load, now runs at 38-45C at high load. The design and style sends the heat upwards away from the cpu also spreading the heat 3 methods making use of the U form heat-pipes. And you know what's grand about it, it runs at 2800rpm not 5000rpm-which is load and useless. Would have been cool id the fan lit up

Easy to place together. Works best It can be a small difficult to center on the CPU. Purchased this to use on a Phenom 955 BE which on stock cooler and settings idled at 45 to 47C and beneath a complete load (using Prime95) would get up to 58C. Current at idle the CPU sits at 33C. Have not had a opportunity to test working with Prime95 deu to perform.

At this point ... None To reiterate from my earlier critique:The rubber mounting items for the fans are fragile. Either that or the holes in the fan frame are too modest... Take your pick.Every HSF consists of five of them. two HSFs = 10. Seven broke. They should package about eight per HSF.I emailed xigmatek to request more. But, this is just plain poor design. The above was originally posted about two months ago.As of this date I have not received a reply to my request from Xigmatek.Very poor buyer service.NOT Encouraged
