Even after running for a when it stays cold to the touch, CPU running in between 27 and 34 celsius. Install was uncomplicated after finding the bracket installed, installing the fan was quite simple also, just be cautious not to bend the fins as you push on the rubber pins for the fan. Also does not block any RAM slots whatsoever so you can go crazy with RAM spreaders and fans. Not a con for me, but this is a tall HSF and will most likely not fit in something much less than a complete tower, and side panel fans may possibly not fit as well. Its quiet, lights up, and moves a lot of air. it dropped my CPU temps by about four degrees. you can use any 120mm fan with it. this issue is tall, it barely fits in my case! only has mounts on one side of the heat sink for a fan, so you cant use two fans for a push/pull strategy very easily.

Despite what other folks might say, I like how the 120mm fan attaches to the heatsink. For these who are curious, there are four rubbery pin hunting points that are inserted in every of the 4 screw holes on the fan. These pins have a small slit in the middle of them and then a cylindrical end that is oriented perpendicular to the pin itself. The cylinder is inserted into grooves that run the length of the heatsink (two pins on either side of the heatsink). The backplate was a true pain to attach on a socket 1155 mobo. It didn't match of completely and I had to actually play with it to get it attached. As usual, the guidelines and parts list didn't match what was in the box and the Xigmatech site provided no additional assist. That getting stated, the install wasn't something significantly tough, but the backplate not fitting appropriate created me double verify that this item was essentially compatible with 1155 (It utilized to require an extra part, but now it's included with part quantity S1283V. I feel the V signifies that it performs with 1155). At present, I'm obtaining some cooling difficulties. My new 3.4Ghz Sandy Bridge cpu is idling at 47C, but I haven't attempted re-seating the heatsink yet. This incredibly well could be a undesirable contact.

Good Cooler. I own numerous of these and they operate good on quite considerably each and every processor from a core 2 duo to an i7 intense. Really QUIET, you can hardly notice the factor is operating. White LEDs add a touch of light inside so if whats inside your case is visible it looks excellent.Haven't seriously had to overclock any of my processors but with them running stock with this i havent noticed them go more than 40C on total loads. None. Its Huge, in a mid case you wont have space for a side fan with one particular of these.

I went on youtube and there are some movies explaining how to work with this HSF. It's rather large. Generally on some sort of sale, amazing black chrome look, distictly various (and not red or blue) LED's. Effortless to install, keeps processor ice cold, whisper quiet. None Have applied three models of these Xigmatek coolers, all were a piece of cake to set up. For Intel processors working with backplate, lining up the bracket to the underside of motherboard is effortless. Just play about with fitment prior to you remove the adhesive tape cover. Here's one more hint, if you want to reuse on a unique mobo later and dont want to leave sticky behind, use electrical tape to hold it in place with out removing the adhesive tape cover. As soon as the heasink is fastened down the bracket is held in spot on it's personal. Then get rid of the elec tape.

Cools incredibly nicely, I mean it's not like every reviewer is lying about it. Cheap paste comes with it, but clearly you need to have some Arctic Silver 5 on hand anyways. I read a single assessment where someone managed to damage his motherboard getting rid of the back plate due to "too sturdy of an adhesive". If you have a 1366 motherboard like myself, there is incredibly little connecting the back plate to the motherboard so I highly doubt you'll handle what the aforementioned reviewer did.

This is getting used on a i7-930 with ASUS P6X58D Premium MB. Was capable to overclock to 3.eight GHz with temperatures reaching max of 78°C employing prime95 testing. For game play (BFBC2) the temperatures max at 62°C. Instructions not extremely clear on installation. The tricky aspect was which way do you put the plate on your mother board.

It's pretty sizable, and I assume that it's far better than the stock cooler. Only problem is, I by no means have applied the stock cooler for the two processors I've applied the xigmatek with (a 940 BE and presently 955 BE).I overclocked each chips (the 940 to 3.five Ghz and the 955 to three.7 Ghz). The 940 idle'd about 50 C and I've only owned the 955 for a day or so now, but it's idling at 62 C As mentioned, it's sizable, and it hangs low. In the sense that memory with taller heat sinks like this Patriot Sector five Viper stuff I have, won't fit beneath the cooler! So I had to sit it in some the DIMM three and four slots on my MSI 790FX-GD70 At the end of the day, I don't regret this purchase. But make confident that your memory, or it's board location won't interfere with the cooler. So either the slots really should not sit beneath it, OR, the heat sinks should be on the sides much more or much less, instead of the top.

Keeps a X6 1090T thats been OC'd to 3.9 GHz beneath full Prime95 load @ 45° C. Quiet. On certain motherboards, you need to have to be careful. On the ASUS Crosshair IV Formula, it is unlikely that you will ever be in a position to use the 1st RAM slot. I have a pair of Ripjaws, and they do not fit unless I use slots 2 & four. I also have this exact same heatsink on an old Q6600 Pc, with the GA-EP45-UD3R, and it fits perfectly fine, no matter how the heatsink is orientated. YMMV. Pretty great heatsink/fan combo, good and quiet. Make sure you read the reviews to see if everyone else has had size compatibility matters with a particular heatsink/motherboard/RAM config.

A)Excellent LED Fan - emits a nice white light; sound at full load gives a silent hum rather than sounding like a leaf blowerB)Light adequate that it doesn't induce stress to the motherboard nor look ridiculousC)Detachable Fan - which means you can replace the fan if the bearings fail more than time with out having to sacrifice the whole heatsink like some other competitor offeringsD)Nickel plated coating provides a nice severe appearE)Keeps my 3.8 Ghz at 73 C (during Prime95), 78 C (during Linx) and less than 67 C in the course of standard gaming or loadF)About 50% more affordable than equivalent competitor offerings and still keeps up in overall performance A)The direct heat pipe technology doesn't appear to have a much more measurable influence on cooling than heatsinks without it.B)Ensure that you use washers (unsupplied with cooler) when screwing the heatsink down into the motherboard, as nicely as make sure no backplate metal is contacting the back of the motherboard straight. Otherwise you will short out the motherboard. Most i7 temperatures folks are claiming here are not core temps as measured by Genuine Temp, but rather Bios or temp readings on the CPU. Count on 70 - 80 C at 3.8Ghz beneath true temp for the duration of a Linx or Prime 95 run.The optimum temperature taken on the outside of the heat spreader with a calibrated thermistor should not exceed 67.9 C per Intel Specifications. Per True Temp, this is about 73 C. If the Dark Knight is cooling all 4 cores at 82 C under full load during Linx or Prime 95, you’re possibly okay as regular load utlization should be less than 68 degrees Celcius (i.e. in the course of gaming or folding). It would be wise to aim for 80 C or lower for the duration of Prime 95 or LinX when testing an overclock. Just don\'t forget that you may possibly have to crank it all back in the summer.Specs:Core i7 930 ʃ.8Ghz (vCore 1.20v; BLCK 200 x 19 multiplier)G.Skill Pi Series DDR 1600 Ɨ-8-7-24) 򜩀 MhzSapphire Radeon HD 5850 ToxicIntel X25-M 80GBCorsair HX650W

My temps dropped 15C compared to the stock fan I had on my Phenom X4 955. Mounts horizontally with AMD, blocking off two RAM slots. I ordered a custom mount from an overclock forum member which let me mount it effectively for correct air flow This issue is massive. I have about half an inch of clearance among this and my side panel of the CM690

This is a excellent heatsink performance wise and visually. Make positive you buy a custom mount if you want it to point towards your ram / rear exhaust on an AM3 board. As I variety this my Phenom II X4 955 is sitting in the mid 30s C in a space thats about 21.2C ambient (computer is beneath mid load, I applied G-751 right after cleaning the CPU to a shine with 91% isopropyl). You wont get considerably superior than this on air cooling, even on the incredibly high priced models. I'm nonetheless sitting on stock fan but will almost certainly add a scythe ultra kaze 3000 in push pull (you have to wire tie these this heatsink doesn't have mounts for both sides) and hopefully drop a different degree or three - each and every small bit counts when your overclocking :) Between this cooler and the HAF922 I've in no way been so satisfied on air. Wish it supported fans on both sides with no silly mods, natively faces horizontally on AM3 board with out shopping for a separate mount. If you're searching for a good heatsink and don't want blow tons of money, don't go with the low-cost 20 dollar ones; invest the extra 20 or so on this and you'll get the finest overall performance possible. It comes very close to the expensive models, and that consists of the H50.

Various people today have been saying they don't like the rubber connectors for the fan. I personally loved the style of the items. The moment there had been in they didn't move and thinking of my final HSF kept producing noise from the loose screws its a welcome edition. It does it's job as well. Idle temps were much less than 20c and never ever got above 36c. Overclock safe! Huge... ok not as massive as it could have been but there wasn't much a lot more than a mm or two among it and the RAM it hovered more than. It was expected though so not a lot of a con.Would have liked to have noticed a greater LED layout or nothing at all. I didn't know when I bought it but there are 4 relatively bright LED lights on each and every corner of the fan. They do nothing at all but shine in your face and don't seriously illuminate the fan or your situation. They appear worthless from an aesthetic viewpoint. You could break your mobo in half but it'll be "cool" if it occurs. Get it? Cuz... you know... yeah...

Keeps an overclocked Phenom x4 below 47*C at max load, and idles away all day at temps so low i believed the sensor was malfunctioning at first. as far as coolers go it's much better than stock, superior than aftermarket, and with a tiny bit of Arctic Silver 5 it's the next very best factor to water. with good assistance for the 90 CFM of airflow this thing pushes around you can achieve extraordinary temperatures. also, pushes a lot of air across the northbridge lowering program temps. wasn't expecting that but it's surely a welcome surprise. it is incredibly tall, just barely clearing the generous allotment of space in an Antec 900 situation, so be certain to measure for depth simply because this factor is actually huge. it can only flow air vertically (but is either push or pull at installers discretion), so for circumstances making use of a lateral airflow patterns it could be flowing air into or out of deadzones so be certain to keep that in mind. the bracket program, whilst nicely believed out, is a bit weak for my liking on such a massive cooler. on the other hand i believe it would be seated far more firmly on the intel boards and since i am using it on an AMD method i can't comment on the actual fitment but i will say the bracket for the intel boys looks sturdy and robust, with incredibly sturdy springs for the screwdowns so even even though installation will be tricky and require removing the motherboard i wouldn't hesitate to acquire this for a Corei7 technique if i had been to develop 1. the cooling is top rated-notch.

Low-cost, well created None This cooler does a decent job for the cost. I am operating this on a two.4Ghz 鵊Mhz x 9) B0 series Q6600 Core two Quad, with the chip overclocked to 3.2Ghz at 400Mhz x eight and it's keeping the cpu at 42-43 C (𞲜 F) at idle and 56-57 C (𞲵 F) below extended load. This is also with the heatsink compound that shipped with the cooler (no arctic silver). The exact same setup with the Intel stock cooler was running 54-55 C at idle.Another issue I noticed is that the temperatures don't fluctuate a lot even at various clocks. It stayed around 41-42 C even with the CPU idling at stock clocks.Mounting wasn't tough, but I did have to take away my motherboard to use the bracket that shipped with it. There were also some rubber push by fasteners if you don't want to take away the motherboard, but I always prefer brackets. The only concern some may have is there is no way to mount a second fan for a push pull configuration (as others have mentioned) but the single 120 MM fan appears to do

My temps are down 12'C. If my situation didn't have leading fans I would have been a bit angry. Most folks want their case to awesome front to back. You can't do that with this cooler if you personal a AMD based method. The fan is going to be inches from the graphics card blowing up. Hopefully you have a leading mounted power supply or situation fans at the best of the situation otherwise this is a big dilemma. It also blocks two memory lanes, but if you installed them ahead of hand then it truly isn't a problemAlso it would have been nicer if the plate was smooth an didn't have the ridges in between the heat pipes, it could make factors greater. Who knows how substantially as it is operating excellent for me. It would have been 5 eggs if it integrated a bracket to turn the cooler 90'.
