Comment:
Does a terrific job cooling my Phenom 970, by no means see above 50C on a little overclock of three.85GHz. Looks excellent and truly quiet compared to stock. A lot of room for a lot more! Would be nice to have grooves to put fan on either side or two fans for that matter. Be certain to check your clearances with this, mounting it sideways I ran into a tight scenario with my ram but new I could make it fit.HAF 932 - Crosshair IV Formula - AMD Phenom II 970 - 4X2GB G.Skill Ripjaw 1600 - ASUS 5850 OC'd - Corsair 850TX

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons: Requires a decent sized case

Pros: Good lookingSilentBlows cold
Comment:
One of the more highly recommended air cooling solutions, all around the same ball park in terms of performance. You pay a bit more for the dark finish but for some it may be worth it. Just barely fits over Ripjaw Ram heatsinks.

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons: the fan it comes with is a bit louder then I like.

Pros: Great price to performance ratio
Comment:
Using it on a q9550 a 3.6 dropped my load temps by 10 and idles by 8 compared to stock cooling. The retention bracket makes it much more secure and effective at cooling than the annoying push pins on stock coolers.

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons: - Tall, could be an issue with some cases with side-fans.

Pros: - Quiet- Pretty white LED's- Multi-socket compatible.
Comment:
Beautiful performant heatsink/fan. The white LED's make it stand out from the build, although the sound doesn't let it annoy ears that stand close. It was proven multiple times that this is a costly solution to heat in most cases.

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons: Fan is hard to install.

Pros: Cheap when on sale. Looks nice. Works reasonably well.
Comment:
It looks very nice and feels well built. The performance isn't amazing but I probably didn't do a good job installing it. When I get the chance, I'll reinstall it. Cooling a Core i7 920 at the moment. The fan is annoyingly difficult to install.

Pros: Quiet.Easy install on AMD motherboards.Great deal when on sale.
Comment:
Keeps my overclocked 6 core Phenom 2 1055T at a cool 21'C at idle.CPU clocked at 3500mhz, prime 95 temperature 49'C.Running in an older Antec 600 case, with 5 case fans. Case fans are louder than the CPU fan, but you can hear the cooler fan rev-up when running Prime 95.

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons:* It's a bit big [blocks two of my RAM slots]* Will only mount upwards on AMD systems [not a problem for me as I use top exhaust]

Pros:* VERY good cooling performance, stock or overclocked* Fan is very quiet [at least to my ears]* Easy but sturdy mounting system for AMD* The entire thing just looks so darn good... :P
Comment:
Extremely impressed with this cooler's performance; with my x4 965 C2 at 4ghz I never go above 48 on load temps! I wasn't impressed with the stock cooler - load temperatures are 58 at default clocks, and at 3.7ghz were around 63 not far from the max temp. This is certainly an improvement and results in better overclocking margin/longetivity for me - and it looks good too!I'm recommending this to everyone!

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons:mounting instructions are misleading for AMD application.AMD configuration interferes with the first two RAM slots if you have some type of heat pipe or RAM cooler, (I don't, everything worked fine)

Pros:Lightweightsolid coolingLooks greatGreat price on sale
Comment:
I bought this knowing it was not the greatest cooler available, but in it's price range I am impressed. This cooler instantly dropped my temperature 12 degrees at idle and 10 degrees at load compared to the stock AMD cooler. I overclocked my Phenom II X4 940 to 3.4 and this cooler holds the same temperature as the stock 3.0. The only difference is the fan runs 200RPM faster. My case has the PSU at the bottom and two 120mm exhaust fans on top. With the fan mounted on the bottom blowing upward this fan exhausts ideally out of the case. The stock cooler does not create  this ideal air flow.Don't follow the mounting instructions for AMD application, you are told to mount the fan as a final step. This does not work with the retainer clip set in place and I had to take the cooler off, mount the fan and then remount the cooler. This was much easierOver all I'm impressed with this cooler and it's consistent cooling. This review was modfied by poster @ 09-06-09 09:29 PM

Xigmatek Dark Knight S1283V H.D.T. 3HEATPIPES Heatsink LGA 1366 775 AM2 754 939 940 W/120MM PWM Fan
Cons:- 4 pin fan wire isn't sleeved- backplate didn't line up properly

Pros:-Looks awesome-Quite-Cheaper than the TRUE
Comment:
This is an awesome cooler, and on the i7 stock cooler without OC, i was getting 60C on load, and now it's around 40C. But of course i overclocked, and now i'm at 3.7 GHz and at load, core temps around 75C. Because The backplate didn't line up perfectly the cooler was slightly off, so it didn't perform as well as it could. I'm gonna buy the backplate again and see it that helps This review was modfied by poster @ 07-16-09 10:01 PM

Cons:Not a weakness really, but it is huge and needs a 8"+ wide case.

Pros:Really nice looking HSF with White LED! Quality construction. INCLUDED back plate is great!
Comment:
Keeps my Q9550o3.8GHZ at 65 degrees max in Prime95(small fft). The finish is nice and the baseplate is nicely polished and square. THe back plate was barely coming in contact with two solder points on my P5Q Pro, so I took the Dremel out and grinded a little bit of the backplate before I installed it. Work fine. PMed to a good price.
