I have a Core 17 920 - My initial sink was a Thermaltake CL-P0401-RF, and I nevertheless got around 75-80C complete load, which was a tiny also hot for my tastes. Immediately after installing this sink, my idle temps went down to 30-35C, and complete load tops out around 60C. Still warm, but some 920's can run a little hot due to chip top quality and binning standards at Intel - I just have a hot chip, and this factor performs as well as can be anticipated. Fairly large. Make confident you have the clearance in your case to install it. I have an Asus P6T motherboard and Antec 900 v1 - anything fit fine on both, luckily. Good heatsink for the cost. Not a large fan of the LED lights, but I could replace the fan with any 120mm, so it's not a con.

It's not the documentation. I just bought this, but don't have the MB however. In the title, it says 775 & 1155 compatible. In the description, it says 775 & 1366 compatible. The ACK-I5361 item title says 1155 compatible, but the description only says 775, 1156, 1366 compatible. The documentation that comes with it says 775 & 1366 only. WTFrick is this issue with the ACK-I5361 compatible with?I want to use either a 1155 or 1156 socket (haven't decided however) & I expected this to be compatible with each. But, I read all kinds of unique issues and their internet web site doesn't enable either. Can any person confirm 1155 and/or 1156 compatibility?

Effortless to toss on AMD M4A77TD!Temps!!! (see other thoughts)Half as loud as stock fan!Price!LED!Can dirrect heat out of my leading fan, makes a kind of push pull with out an extra fan weighing down mobo. Large, barely fits inside my mid tower (I have like 1ቬ of an inch to spare among my side fan and this heatsink.)Heavy, adds some stress to the mobo, but most should handle it fine. Dropped temps 10+ C at load and 10 C idle.I run a AMD Phenomx4 965 and with the stock fan was hovering close to 60 C after 8 hours gaming. I have coretemp and one particular time it even hit my automatic turn off of 65 C. Immediately after installing this and operating for two weeks, and with coretemp on the entire time my cpu has not gone more than 47 C even soon after a a few 12 hour stints in RIFT with graphics on ultra. (CPU not OC'ed, but I plan on performing this later now that I can push the temp higher with no issues)Nicely worth the investment!

Shiny! Oh, and it does a fantastic job at cooling too. Keeping my Phenom II X4 965 OC'ed to three.8 @ 38C idle, 42C whilst gaming and 52C beneath 100% load. Thinking of ambient temperatures in my space are pretty warm, the Dark Knight does fantastic! I didn't get any cuts from the heatsink either, in contrast to my preceding Scythe Ninja Mini, ouch! On my ASUS M4A790XTD EVO AMD board, the heatsink only mounts horizontal. I have to blow air through the heatsink to the top exhaust fan in my case. The heatsink is fairly big, it could cover up RAM slots on some boards. I know on my board, with all slots total, the 4th slot's ram just BARELY cleared the heatsink.Locking mechanism feels a small outdated and flimsy on an AM3 board. I can't tell if the heatsink is pressing down difficult sufficient on my chip. The fan is audible out max speeds but that's a offered. Be sure to use computer software to control fan speeds, specially if you're overclocking. Otherwise your motherboard should have some automatic fan handle function to maintain this issue quiet.White LED clashes with my red situation lighting but no biggie. Fits in my CM Storm Scout case. Be sure to use aftermarket thermal paste. Applying paste on this heatsink is a small tricky. Becoming that it is a HDT, what I did was applied two smaller strips of paste along the contacts. This evened out the paste soon after application and also filled the gaps fairly properly.

Excellent heatseak this heatsink alone has dropped my temps (at idle) from 89 degrees to 82 (not sure at full load). Installing the rubber holsters for the fan into the heatsink can be a tiny annoying but no biggie. Really straightforward installation would advocate even for starting modders

Functions fantastic with 775, 1156 and 1366 socket CPUs, comes with back plante and screw fasteners. Comes with a AMD AM2 and AM3 socket clip. Keeps my 125W AM3 Phenom II 965 BE OCed to 3.8Ghz ice cool at 30C at full 100% load! The White LEDs on smokey colored plastic is an interesting issue, Fits Its big, watch out for tall DDR3 Ram sticks with tall heat spreaders if ur mobo has the RAM slots close to the CPU, in my Asus ATX M4A89GTD Pro/USB3, my Patriot Sector 5 chips had been too tall and i have to move them over. Had i got some G.abilities or Kingstons I would have been peachy fine. Fantastic cooling, Fits best in my Antec 300 Illusion Case, mostly silent. I use Arctic Silver Ceramique result in it is so substantially much better than most thermal compound and is non conductive if u get it everywhere. AS five supposedly operates much better, but I'll stick with it

None - Fan stopped operating with a couple of months (come to feel of it, all of my Xigmatek fans over the last 18 months stopped working)- Practically impossible to get rid of backplate Following 18 months of use, I make a decision to upgrade to Sandy Bridge and decided to sell my P6T Deluxe V2 motherboard. Required to eliminate the S1283V backplate to do that. Xigmatek makes use of practically permanent adhesive on the cooler...in order to remove it you practically have to pry it off the board.Nearly got it with a little bit of heat, but in the procedure scratched three traces on the motherboard. So a ~赨 motherboard is now useless thanks to Xigmatek's poor thinking.

Loved the style of this cooler and it keeps my cpu incredibly cool around 40c idle and around 70c below load with it oced... 60c beneath load devoid of oced. cpu is core i7-930 Soon after removing thermal paste from it i noticed it had a couple of nicks in it.. not certain if that was my fault or what but its the only con i have. Obtaining the fan on was fairly tricky.. i recommend you lookup some youtube vids on how to instal it properly and the instructions are poorly written

Dropped my temperatures considerably. Even running prime95, my unlocked 555BE oced to 3.7ghz only hits 40.5C at 25% fan speed on the cooler ྵ.1C ambient temp). If I go to 100%, it doesn't break თC over ambient. None. Cooling a Phenom 555BE unlocked and Oced to 3.7ghz @ 1.46V in a CM HAF 912 case.As constantly, Newegg is the greatest.

Keeps my i7 920 a lot cool - haven't had any overheating issues however. Be certain it fits your case first - I have an NZXT Apollo, and the fan on the heatsink touches the fan on the side of the case when I close it. Had I had an even slightly smaller sized case, it would have beena no-go. The max temp I've observed on my i7 so far is around 52 C. To be fair, I have not but overclocked it (I've been lazy.) My dual 4850 X2's have locked up when or twice from overheating, but the processor hasn't acted up but.

Keeps my i7 nice and cool, not very loud, looks cool if you have a window to see it. not the finest directions, install in a pain if you have a smaller case, but I expected that, if you have a seriously modest case make sure it will fit. make sure you have the fan facing the suitable way when you put it in, I didn't check and had it blowing right at an intake fan.

Big heatsink, significant fan, backplate, excellent compatibility with distinct processors moving from 1 motherboard to the subsequent could be tough since of the tape on the backplate. size could be an concern if you dont make great measurements initially. stock cooler on my e8400 was obtaining old and dirty so i figured i could get more life out of it with this new heatsink. idle temps dropped from 37 on both cores to 25. ran prime for two hours and didnt get it above 49 degrees. Need to get even superior efficiency within a week or 2. Loving this proper now. I switched the flow of my fans to give far better intake and exhaust. Operating wonders correct now.

Provided you mount the fan appropriately (I'm talking to you, reviewers that say it underperforms your stock HSF), it will preserve your CPU really cool. Xigmatek bracket offered does not make fan compatible with all (any?) 1156 motherboards. The pinhole alignment is vastly various from the intel HSF offered and no amount of bending or creativity will force it to fit. Other reviewers have commented on this, but it'll be buried in the 40 pages of 5 star reviews from i7 and 775 owners. Not positive whose fault the purported i5 compatibility is. It really should be changed to reflect the truth that it does not fit all or any 1156 mobos.

A lot better than stock AM3 heatsink/fan. Been able to both unlock my Phenom x2 into a Phenom x4 and OC to 4ghz+ in every single core. Stress tested stable with peak temperature at 57-58 degrees c. Laaaaarge. I expected as considerably, but guys, don't count on keeping your case door on if you have anything smaller than a full atx tower.

Cools properly, quiet and a lot greater than stock cpu, nicely worth the price tag if rebate is honored. Mine did not come with hardware for the 1155/ 1156 install, no pushpins included either. Newegg is seeking into shipping me the ACK-I5361 mounting kit. Hope they stick to by means of since this kit is in the product title and was not included with my Dark Knight package. Could also stick to up with XIGMATEK to see if they will send me the 1155񳁴 bracket if NEWEGG fails to deliver.

Light weight compared to others.Cools nicely ࿄c) at idle.low noise. Don't like the mounting for am2 or am3. Its a normal compression clip exactly where the Intel mounts are not. For a cooler this size it really should of came with an Amd back plate and a screw assembly like the Intel sockets. putting the fan on this thing was a massive discomfort, 1st you haft to get the soft rubber grommets into the fan (use a needle nose and pull them by way of the other way) then poke them in the slots on the side by way of a single of block fins to mount it. This is fine on the initially side but quite tough on the other side given that the pressure of mounting the initial side is hard to hold back with just one particular individual and if don't watch what your doing you can bend the blades on the block quite uncomplicated. this is why only 4 stars.

Incredibly effective heat dissapation on overclocked AMD 555. Idle temps with heat sink at around 23 - 24 C, with full load at about 30 - 31C, which is considerably superior than the stock heat sink.Outstanding make high quality including all nuts and bolts for a wide array of cpu platforms. The 120mm fan runs at around two,000 rpm, which is fairly quiet. It lights up inside the case making it simple to see that it's working correctly. Can't imagine a "better" heat sink for the price tag. Like most great heat sinks, it is extremely large. On my AMD board, unless a single is working with low profile RAM, it will block RAM slots # 1 & two. Lastly, it takes quite a bit of coordination and tinkering to appropriately attach and align the fan to the heat sink. Outstanding for air cooling--worth each and every penny.

Picked up this bad boy for $24.99 and it looks great with black nickel finish and white LED lights. I used this heatsink with an overclocked Intel Quad Core Q8200 and the temps have dropped 10 degrees compared to the stock cooler and the cooler is very quiet. Comes with a PWM fan so fan slows down under idle conditions and is virtually silent in my computer case. Easy install, good cooling performance, quiet, looks great and for under $30 you cannot go wrong.

- This puppy took my 965 BE down from 62C load temps on stock cooling (stock paste as well) to a 39-40C load temp at stock volts/clock on Prime 95. Arctic Silver is in all probability responsible for ӯ-5C on this change although. Conservatively I saw a ㅉC load temp change at stock beneath complete load for 5+ Hours. I'm presently operating a 4. ghz OC with 1.5V and below pressure if won't break 51C. Idles at 35-40C based on Ambient. Never ever noticed it above 45C on anything but pressure testing, this consists of 8+ hours of heavy gaming (BFBC2).- Installation is a cake walk. Just put the AM3 socket bracketing on and clip it down. I'd suggest making use of Paste to fill in the tiny gaps among the heat pipes on the Heat sink, then use a razor blade or thick plastic credit card to smooth off the excess. Apply two thin half inch parallel lines of paste on the outer two heat pipes. This is the greatest method I've discovered for receiving full coverage immediately after application.- You won't break your bracket, don't wor - This puppy is quite tall, give yourself at least 16 CM of clearance from the top rated of your bracket. It fits with an inch or so to spare in my Antec 1200. Didn't fit in my other case.-Installing this the force necessary to mount the heat sink causes it to slide on the thermal paste across your CPU if you don't hold it in location. So if it isn't held while becoming clamped down it WILL slide and become un-centered. May be easier to get an added set of hands.- Fan installation goes substantially less complicated if you DON'T adhere to instructions and instead install the rubber pieces onto the HEATSINK and then merely secure the fan onto the heatsink, this is substantially easier than the option system.-Fan isn't labeled as to which direction it wants to face to push by means of the Heat sink. IIRC you want the exposed wires facing outwards.- Does have a soft white LED light, which I don't thoughts, but some could not like this! - Overall efficiency is superb. Pretty affordable heat sink and fan for the level of efficiency. Operates Quietly and looks absolutely sick.- Could have difficulty clearing some RAM with tall heat spreaders. Fits over my ADATA gaming DDR3 with about centimeter or two. If you have tall heat spreaders comprehend you will possibly have to uninstall them from your RAM to make it fit.-This is probably as significantly air cooling as you'll need to have on an AM3 socket unless you are going for some crazy overclocks, in which case you need to just go with waterŎ Gigahertz is plenty for my Quad ATM.
