- It's major and sharp- It seems to blow a massive quantity of air - By no means did any just before and right after comparison, but I believed my cpu would run cooler than 55C at tension... perhaps not USE ARCTIC SILVER, don't skimp

dropped my e6750 idle temps from 40 to 20 although overclocked from two.66 to 3.20Ghz, following three hours of prime95 it gets to an typical of 50 degrees may well not fit in some cases, it has plenty of space in my Antec 900 i would give it 6eggs if i could

This is a great budget replacement to a stock Intel heatsink. My q6600 went from an stock clock temp from 45 to 28 degrees C, and O.C. @ three.1ghz from 59 degrees to 33 degrees idle and with the OC under anxiety from 72 to 49 degrees. It is basically a excellent heat-sink. You just can't go incorrect with it. The fan is also super quiet, and due to the fact the CPU is cooler, other devices aren't operating as hot too, so it's a fantastic combo (well sort of lol) It's not insanely huge, but it has some bulk to it. Probabilities are most circumstances will fit this. The copper fins are SHARP!!! I cut myself twice, and my finger was slightly bleeding. Please please please take caution when putting this in. Also it has a stupid style to mount it on the processor. You feel like you'll break it with the mounting bracket, but it's seriously okay. No worries. Also do oneself a favor and get some arctic five paste. They give you a tiny ( i mean just adequate ) amount of some janky thermal paste. Also you WILL have to take out the Motherboard unless you have an access panel to the back. It's not a large deal due to the fact the heatsink returns the favor. 1)My CPU idle temp dropped(from 40 down to 16 degrees), and my MAXIMUM temp for the duration of CPU tension tests dropped 40 degrees, from 81, all the way down to 40 degrees!!!Ō)This fan is almost fully silent!three)There is NO superior fan for the money. (I create/repair PCs for a living, and these results are super impressive!ƞ)Installed w/o a hiccup! In under 20 minutes. None! I personally didn't experience any of the negatives that these critiques prepared me for...1)No cuts! Didn't discover the fins sharp at all.two)No size concerns! My board had plenty of room, and my midtower wasnt crowded at all. Installation was a breeze! With a total of 6 screws, the only issue is no matter whether you can hook your motherboard back up effectively. 19 minutes after opening my box from Newegg, and I was benchmarking my CPU!

Quiet fan and mounted effortlessly without any problems. Attempting to eliminate as much fan noise as potential and this helped. none This was a replacement for a heatsink which had a fan that went out on me. If installing in an already assembeled laptop, be ready to have to eliminate your mobo to attach it. This was expected but just time consuming to do. Absolutely not a con. Gave me an chance to blow the accumulated dust out of my system.

Moves heat like a champ. Loud, get a program known as "speed fan" and lower the fan speed to 50%, the noise will be nice and low...really low though nonetheless giving excellent heat removal. This fan is intriguing. I did a burn in for 12 hrs working with "Intelburntestv2." Intels burn test is the most brutal burnin tester on the industry, its free to boot.So I got 66c MAX load. 66c isnt bad for a quad core air cooled at max load, so i was happy. I have had this for four days now. I have kept a close eye on temps. I play a ton of cpu heavy games (WOW) and the temp by no means went past 54c, thats with vent, log keeping, max settings, IE and so on. So I'm incredibly pleased. If you get this cooler burn it in, and do some test with fan speed adjustment(via speedfan) to see the what works. I by no means go past 50% fan speed, and it stays very under my typical gamer usage.

-Virtually pure copper-Slick design-Can dissipate heat quite nicely from experimental overclocking (when it reaches 60-70 degree Celsius); you can really feel the heat on the copper heat sink *Only if you have your mobo standing tall ways*-Not a screw-in heat sink (quite heavy for it to be leaning on the motherboard with a metal bridge) - not incredibly tight with the cpu thus causing a high temperature at idle and load making use of prime95 (look at thoughts)Overall... more than hyped. That metal bridge is suppose to hold that heat sink tightly with the cpu? Wasted 50$... perhaps its worth some thing as scrap metal because it is pure copper... Did watercooling just before this, and my temps were at mid to high 40's(c) due to poor installation by me.But with this cooler, honestly you can't install it wrong, so I now get 25c - 30C idle on a Q6600 @ 2.4GHz

It does just what it's supposed to. I have a three.2GHz Pentium D that was running at 65 degrees celcius at idle ࿦-75 on load). Right after installing this cooler, it is now idling at 26-30 degrees celcius. The heatsink is sharp - be cautious maneuvering around it when you're installing it. The fan is also really quiet - if you have it operating at the highest speed then you'll hear it a little bit.

Keeps temps super low even under heavy loads.Full Copper base and frame.Quiet Operation. None really except you have to have the room for it but you really should check your rig for that, you WILL have to remove the motherboard to attach the mount. The bracket to secure it was a little challenging to get screw-ed down but that was with the motherboard in the chassis, I'm certain if it was performed with the motherboard out it would have been much easier. I bought this to replace the stock fan for my Pentium D dual core 3. which I had originally liquid cooled but due to the fact the old motherboard bit the bullet I used the stock fan thinking it would suffice. I was incredibly wrong! my temps on idle had been hi 50's and below and slight load would climb up to 78-79 and if the load continued it would crash my technique. Purchased and installed this to be amazingly surprised at the current temps on idle its 32-34 and on load wont even break into 50, my old liquid cooling would do this when set to low-medium. Now I can get pleasure from some gaming as well as my son and not have it crash due to terrible stock coolers.

quiet. When I initial got this working in my new case and didn't have my graphics card in but I didn't understand the personal computer was on. Rendering video on my core2duo went from mid 70*c down to a solid 35*c, which is about what the idle temp use to be. That doesn't fairly max out the cpu (HDD bottleneck), but it goes to show the performance you can anticipate. I am wondering if I could more than clock a small at this very same sound level.Must migrate whenever I upgrade to a core i5ǝ incredibly huge, wont fit in your average dell/HP case. And don't even think about a HTPC or anything smaller than a good mid tower.paste that comes with it is junk, invest the added few dollars for something better. Now have to have to discover a great vga cooler and power supply to truly quiet issues down.oddly makes HDDs seem loud... funny story,so I bought this and a new case (old case was nearing 11 years old) on a whim at my nearby PC store (btw, newegg was 5 bucks more affordable). Installed every thing in the new case, installed new cooler, and the personal computer wouldn't post! Thought I had shorted some thing out in the migration process. Immediately after a week I had a chance to see what I did wrong and I somehow got thermal paste on the under side of the CPU! I don't recall unclipping the LGA slot, so I truly don't know how it got in there, but I was able to rub it off, and now the laptop or computer runs terrific once more and with no the harsh sound of the stock unit. Now my GPU fan will be the next to go, but though loud it is not practically as challenging on the ears. Also, in the past I have always employed a spreader or credit card to disperse my thermal paste, but saw the newegg guys use a plastic bag and a finger with a much greater spread on the new ares giveaway video. I used a vynal glove and I was a lot happier with the result!

Fits extremely good in my full tower case.Only ุSuper Easy Install for anybody that has built a laptop or computer ahead ofExcellent cooling temps A little loud I had a cheap-o water cooling setup in my PC ahead of getting this air cooler. I just got tired of having to obtain coolant and I wasn't even overclocking.I bought this as a replacement, and not only did it get rid of all the tubes that was blocking airflow in my case, but the CPU temps match that of my water cooling setup. Wish I would have purchased this thing in the first place.

I have had this heatsink/fan mixture on my LGA775 XEON 3110 (INTEL E8400 Clone for pretty much 3 years. My technique has fairly significantly been going 24ǝ뤅 days a year except for the odd energy outage, or moving the personal computer. The CPU has been continually OC'd at 3.6 GHZ and has in no way gotten hotter than 42 C. My CPU is just as stable now as it was when it was 1st installed. I just bought a new Q9550 dedicated for folding, and bouaght another one of these. The cost is excellent, and when you pick this baby up and feel the weight, and listen to the barely heard whisper of the fan on full, you will fully grasp why I like this heatsink so considerably. Not actually a con, but it has a lot of pure copper and I dropped it from a four foot height. It bent slightly off center and was a small hotter than prior to, but immediately after I cautiously bent it back into alignment it was just as very good prior to. There is a slightly improved version of my original that is a 4 wire hookup rather of the manual switch on the cable, I'm not positive this one has it or not.

Big cooling surface area, high develop quality, quiet fan, does an exceptional job (my CPU is routinely five-6C cooler than my mobo under regular load). Fins are sharp and can cut fingers, physical size can make mounting a little trickier. Physically a monster of a cpu cooler but it looks excellent when installed on the board (it looks intimidating :-))

Pretty quiet. Thermal paste that came with it was excellent. Only sufficient comes for the CPU, don't miss. Cools an E6600 Conroe 2.4Ghz down to about 21C idle, and 30's on load. Blades are sharp! It's incredibly uncomplicated to get cut. Didn't even know finger was cut. Retention bracket was a little bit tough to put on, but it's secure. Size wasn't an issue in a full sized ATX, but may possibly be a consideration in a mid sized case for height. Fan gets noticable when when CPU is at full load, but not bad.

Cools a core2duo CPU OC'd at three.4ghz incredibly nicely. Keeps it idle at around 32C and isn't audible at all even during games. None. I basically had a Hyper 212 tower CPU cooler that didn't fit in my case, so I got this rather. It cools specifically the identical (but does price a little additional). On the other hand, I am a Zalman fan (owning a 9700 NT as nicely) and I haven't ever had a complaint about their merchandise.

Straightforward to install.A lot Cooler CPU Temps.PWM Feature.Super Quiet.Nice Aesthetics. The fan clip is a a little troublesome to install, but not sufficient to impact the overall rating. I combined the CNPS9500 AT with Arctic Silver 5 and my CPU (Pentium Dual-Core E6500 Wolfdale 2.93GHz) Temp @ idle dropped from the low 60's with the Stock Intel Cooler to the low 40's. Under load, the CPU previously would peak in the low 80's (really bad for CPU health) and now it peaks in the mid 50's.I anticipate it get even cooler as I get even further into the burn-in period.I had to take the MB out of my case to install the 9500 AT, but in the end the additional effort was nicely worth it.Bottom line.....Obtain this item!!!

Switched this with an older fan. Works fantastic, keeps cpu below 55c at full gaming. Backplate did not come in the packaging. like the contents says it need to. Keeps the CPU cool. Did video processing and encoding for a week straight and the CPU barely got warm (like i could TOUCH the bracket that holds the fan to the copper heatsink). Rather as nicely. My case fans are louder than this factor. The fins are sharp. Due to needing a larger case than the Micro I used to have, I got an ATX full sized and it was easy sufficient. Seriously, the only difficulty with installing this effective heat sink is NOT obtaining cut by the fins. I wouldn't go to an additional heat sink and fan unless it out performed this one by a large margin.

This heatsink is not as large as most would think it to be from the photos. Once the black clip is attached to the motherboard, this is the easiest heatsink I have ever observed for removing and cleaning/maintenance. My temps on my Q6600 Quad Core were slowly climbing due to my old heatsink fan combo giving out. They were averaging 65 on full load. I put this baby in, and I'm averaging 40, if I'm unlucky, on full load. The copper blades can be a bit annoying on the hands in the course of install. Nevertheless, the manual does state that you need to wear gloves when handling this baby. I feel the cable for the fan should also have some sort of wire mesh around it, just due to the reality that I had to weave the wire AROUND the heatsink to reach its connector on the motherboard. I suggest this to all gaming enthusiasts who want the life of their processor extended. This baby can cool like no other heatsink for its price.

Cons:not the quietest, doesn't cool the most, big, not that easy to install

Pros:fairly good performance in all aspects
Comment:
I got this fan about 2 years ago for my q6600 and at the $24 dollar price tag I was incredibly pleased with the price-performance I got. I would recommend installing the mounting brace parallel with the airflow of the fan instead of perpendicular to it. The stress on your motherboard is fairly insignificant and saves you a lot of sanity when installing the heatsink.

Q6600 over clocked to 3.2GHz, central processing unit idles at 30 Celsius and goes up to high 40 Celsius under high load. Not the quietest, cheapest or easiest to install but I'm happy with my purchase. Overall good product and I would recommend.
