Excellent Processor Easy Unlock
Comment:
Bought this processor to go along with my new M4A89GTD Pro USB3 MB. Unlocked easily with new MB, This processor screams. I now have this quad at dual core pricing. Very happy.

Great, if you can unlock it
Comment:
I bought this processor, hoping I could unlock the other 2 cores. Either my processor is one that won't do that, or my motherboard couldn't perform (I bought one recommended for unlocking -- Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H) so I'm left with pretty mainstream dual core processor that I paid too much for. I'm fine with it, but if I weren't looking for the opportunity to turn it into a quad core, I would have bought something else.

Good Product
Comment:
No joy for me on the unlocking front using an Asus M4A79XTD EVO. Only two of the cores are any good. Fortunately I expected that. It does overclock easily to 3.9Ghz using 1.4v at 43 load and 32 idle with an older Kingston heatsink. Well worth the money.

Best Product and Deal Ever!
Comment:
This is a beast! Its so fast and now there is some competition between intel and AMD. I got this baby unlocked and overclocked to 3.8 Ghz (I haven't tried any higher, because there is just no need) I can run Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, and Dreamweaver all at the same time, which is really helpful sometimes in web design. I would recommend this processor over the i3 and the i5, I haven't used an i7 so I cant say. I unlocked it with an ASUS M4A785-m which has a special feature just for these CPU's to unlock them without a hitch.

Excellent value

Built a number of machines since 386 days. Seems like my best ones had AMD CPUs. I have never had an AMD processor fail. With the right motherboard, this one is a sweetheart to overclock, the price is teriffic, the quallity is there, and the comptition can't touch it.

Pros: Bang for the buckMaybe some free extra coresBuilt flat, no lapping required.

My quick review of the AMD 555 3.2 Ghz black Edition CPU.HDZ555WFGMBOX Retail AM3 Phenom II x2 Dual core.6mb L3 cache 80 watts tdp. 45nmCACAC AC 1004CPMW (2010 4TH week)Coolermaster Hyper TX3 heat pipe cooler. Does a good job and is quiet. The stock cooler will go on my old dual core 3800, which was poorly built with a concave top. I had to remove burrs from the edges of the cpu as only the corners of the cpu mated with the heatsink!Mobo-Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H bios upgraded from F4 to F7. (*Important- Use only the bios utility Q-Flash built in to setup, press F10 to access). In Setup-Set EC firmware selection to HybridSet ACC Advanced clock calibration (clock skew)to auto.My settings were originally at -2%. I left them there.I upped the voltage from 1.35 to 1.425I have not overclocked, and probably won't.All cores unlocked no problem.Windows XP Pro 32 bit booted no problem and recognized the cores. The found new hardware wizard came up, as my old CPU was a 3800 dual core 2 Ghz.Now I just have to stress test it, but that will have to wait. I'll probably disable the extra cores and only enable them for games anyway. It's the green thing to do.A good deal considering it was only $2 more than the 550.
