I LOVE this processor.
Comment:
I really believe they have yet to make a game that will tax this processor. I haven't used it for long, but I'm so impressed by the speed. If you're trying to build a good gaming system at a reasonable price, start with this, you won't be sorry. |

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Less overclock potential compared to the 965Not as much a good buy with the new i5 processors.
Pros:Pretty good overclocker. Can hold stock speeds at lower voltages well.Best bang for your buck performance compared to the i7 920 Comment:
This processor is blazing fast, and has serious overclocking potential (for those trying it out, this processor likes lower temps compared to higher voltages). It's pretty much up to par with the i7 920 in terms of gaming performance, but rendering-wise, i7 wins, albeit a very small margin. Running this with 4 gigs of ddr3-1333 memory, a 4890 (soon to be crossfire'd), and a 790fx-gd70. Overall, very fast, very stable, and a good competitor to Intel's more pricey i7 processors. |

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:None for the price.
Pros:Very fast for the price. Add a cheap amd 2 plus motherboard and wow bang for the buck heaven Comment:
I got this with a asus am2+ motherboard 4 gigs of ddr2 patriot ram that was on sale and bang for the buck pretty hard to beat . It overclocks so easy. So if you want a fast but inexpensive system this processor has it all. |

...I'll never know
Comment:
I ordered a case, power supply, chip and motherboard. The case and power supply were fine..I opened the box that had the chip and mobo and noticed the box the mobo came in was crushed in the corner, the cpu was in the corner the shipping box chip side out. Exposing it to drops and kicks etc....Anyways put it together and got my money back last week. I have s sweet case with a sweet power supply, now I'm just waiting to go my local computer store to pick up a chip and board. I don't know who showed these people how to package and ship things, but they don't know what they are doing... |

poor DDR3 memory implementation
Comment:
Not to much of an upgrade from my 2.6 Ghtz X 4. I was thinking with a faster front side bus and DDR3 something might happen. Pretty much about the same old thing. AMD is late to the memory implementation party again. I'd save my money until the next chip series if I had it too do over. I've always built AMD, but this makes me question their upgrade policy, is it an upgrade? |

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:Runs a little warm
Pros:Very easy to overclock Comment:
A great processor overall. I upgraded from an Opteron 165 and there's a huge difference in load times and FPS for processor heavy games. This is a very easy processor to overclock. I put it up to 3.7ghz without raising the voltage and on air cooling. Load temps don't go over 50C. Recommended! |

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:-stock heat sink can get loud, but I have a noctua anyway :)
Pros:-4 Cores-Shared 6MB L3 cache-Inexpensive since the 965 is out-Can be undervolted quite a bit-Will run in ddr2 and ddr3 motherboards-Runs cool with noctua NH-U12P cooler Comment:
Ran prime 95 for over 9hrs at cpu core voltage at 1.2V with no errors.Idle temp is about 33C with fan rpm about 900 and at load about 45C with fan running at 1125rpm, as controlled by bios and reported by cpuid hwmonitor, with the noctua cooler.I remember paying 245 for my old 5600X2 windsor that this replaced, but costed 230, wow. Excellent price/performance ratio. Poor thing idles most of the time, maybe I should start FqH :) |

Lightning quick speed without Intel prices!
Comment:
Love this CPU! Cannot say enough about it, it's super fast and runs VERY cool. Also noted it does come with a fan(which I didn't know at the time and got another one). I don't know if I would have used the fan that comes with it anyway, because it is very generic looking, but anyway. The CPU itself runs at a very cool 38C 90% of the time. The only way I think I could get it cooler is if I ran a liquid cooling system. Overall, great CPU that can handle a ton and works lightning fast. All without Intel prices! Would definitely recommend this for any gamer/computer enthusiast! |

Satisfied - Heck Yeah!
Comment:
I see that the specs have been covered in some of the other reviews. All I've got to add is that this cpu, attached to an asus m4n82 deluxe mobo, kicks some serious butt. |

Great AMD CPU
Comment:
I bought this one right after the X4 965 is out. I am pretty satisfied by the performance even without any OC. The fan is a bit difficult to place, but after that, just relax and enjoy the speed. |

AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
Cons:overclock limitnone
Pros:nice cpu for the pricealmost head to head with intelbest perf price Comment:
You got what you pay for. I bought this cpu on back to school special its great paired with 2x 4870 and gigabyte mobo. I like this cpu because of the consumption, I didn't overclocked it yet but I'll try it soon, for now I'm on water cooling and the temperature on iddle is 25 and 34 on full. so its not bad. I will update if I can push the clock a little bit higher and get a stable machine. |

I went from a Socket 754 3700 Clawhammer With XP to this with Windows 7. It may not be fair for me to review this Item! Boots fast and does its job without delay. Running AA3 at 60fps on highest settings with ATI 4890. Have not tried overclocking yet. |
I bought this as a replacement for my 6400 X2 proceesor, which was fast in my opinion. I wanted at least the same clock speed. This one is much much faster and also 2 extra cores!! The best part is that I did not have to upgrade to a new mother board!! Plugged right into my MSI AM2 board with not problems (latest bios required). Perhaps the 965 is better but I didn't like the 140W
