This factor is sick. I have a 24 megabit downstream and I can't get it to choke like less powerful products do, and I've tried just to see if I could employing bittorrent. Factory firmware is terrible. Had difficulties with wireless stability using both TomatoUSB and DD-WRT, but managed to fix it by going back to factory, resetting to factory defaults, and reflashing DD-WRT. Left all wireless settings at default except for security ones and the wireless has been behaving fine. I need to have tweaked it to the point of being unreliable the 1st time.

All I can say is WOW, this issue has lots of Power for each Power Users and Business...Wireless Range is Good, and you can also Put bigger external antennas on this unit if need to have be. They need to do like Buffalo Wireless did, and Place a striped down easy version of DD-Wrt on this from the factory. Over All a good Router, Runs DD-Wrt and Tomato Firmware flawlessly.A single point ASUS did not do, is put a heat sink on both broadcom chips, just the bigger Main Chip has a heat sink, If you do run DD-WRT or Tomato and boost the signal greater then 30 mw I would advocate sticking a heating on the bare BC Chip.

Asus firmware was lacking so i put DD-WRT on it and it was rock solid. Lasted only 4 months just before it died in the middle of the night. No resets, firmware updates, tftp or telnet commands could bring it back. Will dd-wrt K26 builds ever be stable? Be conscious that the asus warranty web site is a labyrinthian maze. Looked good on paper but if it doesn't work then how can their be good points? Router is unstable. It loses WAN and hard wired LAN connections randomly. This started about 45 days soon after invest in. Forget my router’s symptoms although. Read the other poor posts about this router and understand the ones commenting about the router being unstable are correct – although symptoms may really. I just figured most the folks complaining about the router getting unstable were the regular unhappy ones on all forums. I was incorrect. If the ratio of negative comments is directly correlated to who honestly did get a bad router, then about 20% of these routers are bad. Roll the dice if you want. I also loaded dd-wrt onto this router. It didn't enable the dilemma at all. Moreover, if you're going to load dd-wrt, make confident you read their forums. The firmware the database recommends is out dated and buggy (and they discuss this in their forums). Why they don't make the database link point to the forum post is a mystery to me.

Nice feature set, lots of RAM for a router, USB. Not dual band so you can't have wireless b/g/n at similar time.
