It came in good package, lots of goodies, functions ok when not below heavy loads First board I received was defective, could not recognize 6 gigs of ram if memory running @ at 1800 and or above. It booted with memory running at 1600 but sound never ever worked. Swift RMA through newegg. 2nd. Board OK, nevertheless not recognizing six gigs in triple channel if speed @ 1800. (using OCZ Reaper HPC 6GB Ɠ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 15000) Triple Channel Kit) As an Electronics and communications Engineer with a Masters in digital communications and various certifications from internationally recognized organizations, I was expecting much more from this motherboard, at least to work beneath manufacturer specifications. I will never ever obtain once again from this organization. Please pardon my English, given that it is my third language.

Jam-packed with possibilities, flexibility with how to configure the board, both BIOS and hardware. May intimidate folks that are custom/modding/first time builders. Erratic POST instances very first time starting up.Poor placement of motherboard energy cable produced for a tight squeeze hooking up to. No parallel port connector, had to acquire 3rd party PCI-E card. What can I say about this board, just that it's a BEAST! Comes packed in a huge case(can't say box, it does not do the package justice, nor do the pics of it) with all the essential cables and hardware to hook it up with. The method came with a Inventive sound card, but opted to keep with my Turtle Beach Montego DDR. I graduated from a MSI Platinum 2 board that I loved for its durability and longevity, but it was displaying its age.I seriously have but to delve into tinkering with the OC settings, as an alternative opting to use the computer software controls that came with it. So far, they have performed a fine job of maintaining my technique steady.I'm glad that they place collectively a great on-line BIOS flash utility, following bricking my MSI as soon as, I was a tiny gun-shy about attempting that once again.Components installed follow:Intel i7 920 series @ 2.8113-1GB DDR3 Ballistix PC3-12800 CL8, 1.65V Tracer W/ XMPEVGA NVIDIA GeForce 285 1GB "leaf blower".A great setup over all.

Also working with a 3Ware 9690 four lane Raid card, OS XP-64 [you need to slip stream SP-1 into the XP disc to get the Raid card to boot]. Also Thermatake 850 PS, decent PS really required. Fast, quick system devoid of difficulty. Go ASUS and Corsair! None, appreciate it. Cooler Master case and lots of fans, temps are super low, even OC'd a bit. Certain it would go a lot greater, but I'm content here. Hope this post assists others.

This is a wonderful board, overclocks like a champ, more features than you could ever want, and looks good. The cold boot situation. This killed the board for me. I have to give it critical consideration before trying to restart my personal computer, due to the fact a restart signifies I have to be with out a computer for an hour. I wish I had recognized more about this problem, I would of gone with a various board. Is larger than the normal atx size, which wasn't a challenge in my case, but just wanted to mention it. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We sincerely apologize that you are experiencing this problem with this motherboard. Have you attempted updating to the latest BIOS revision, 1639? Sounds like an awsome board, this will be my 1st O.C. create and it sounds like this board will make it simple for me. None that I know of but, just hope I don't get a lemon like it sounds happend with the handful of negative reviews on right here. I'm an Asus fanboy all the way so hope they don't let me down. Ok so I haven't really purchased this item but, but I program to. I am trying to develop my 1st high end gamer make about the core i7 920 and am seriously considering this board. I have a question regarding the memory compatibility though, asus' site states it will only help 3gb or much less of 1800 DDR3 mem. just wondering if this information is outdated. Most of the supported mem modules on their list show up as no longer being sold on newegg, I'm seeking at acquiring 6GB of Kingston Hyper X 1800 DDR3. Anyone else take place to be making use of this mem with this MB? Feedback would be appreciated.

This is a slammin' motherboard. Like every person else mentioned here in the Feedback section, this board is fantastic for overclocking. It has anything you need, including a LED display that sits outside of the case. It would be good if the SATA ports on the motherboard faced up instead of towards the front of the pc case. I had to unscrew the motherboard, soon after finding almost almost everything wired and set up, to plug in my SATA cables for the CD-Rom and Harddrive. I could not get them plugged in becuase they were facing the harddrive cage and there was barely adequate space to fit the SATA cables even as soon as they were plugged in. So, I advise plugging in your SATA cables into the motherboard prior to mounting the motherboard, if you don't have a lot clearance. The LED display is type of cool, except the wire comes out of the back of the case and the display just kind of slides about everywhere. It would be nice if they produced the back of the display flat so you could place two sided tape on it and then you could stick it to the case. I guess I could take it to the grinder and grind off the excess plastic stands and then I could stick it to the case.

Fairly major motherboard, has a lot of choices to provide. Cant fit two GTX295's with soundcard and/or Killer Pro installed. That bummed me out. 2nd blue memory slot was DOA! Cant use triple memory with my Corsair Dominator GT Ɩgb) due to the fact the 2nd blue memory slot is DOA. So stuck with double memory. I stick a memory stick in the 2nd blue slot and the monitor doesnt turn on. Attempted a lot of various slots with the 6gb and the 2nd blue slot seemed to give me the most trouble. Just doesnt wanna turn on when a single is installed there. I identified that to be a let down. Dont know how to overclock the motherboard, not as straightforward as they make it appear. As well several points to install with the motherboard; (i.e; turbov, engine6, etc etc.) Possibilities selections....hope ASUS sees this and fixes my problem. Not as satisfied as I need to be with ASUS... I often have "other thoughts". But would it be worth it to explain them? Rapid, simple to setup, does what it says. Incredibly good seeking motherboard. Worked proper off. No significant issues. Some crashes right here and there, but is explained beneath Con's. Which, it is not a con, it's just not for novices or newcomers. This board is not for novices. From what I can inform, the crashes that I have suffered had been related to QPI voltage not getting high sufficient. Mine essential 1.46 just to boot with stock settings, no overclocking. The quicker I pushed the ram, the far more voltage it wanted. Setting to auto is not an option. For ddr3-2000 speed it wanted 1.five+ volts. When I upped the voltage, the crashed stopped. Use Intelburn, as it will test your setup far better, and create more heat than Prime95 As I mentioned, this board is not for novices, if you don't comprehend voltages, and multipliers it's greatest to stay away from this board as there are many options in the bios you have to set. This can be a bit overwhelming if you aren't use to it. It is rock strong stable although. I have pushed it as challenging as it will go and it won't crash. Just on a side note, I reside in Seattle, and currently it's been obtaining quite hot here, 95 to 100 degrees, and I had the laptop running in a space who's temp was 85 when I began it. The motherboard by no means got over 37 C and the processor in no way got over 55. That's not negative for a space of that temp. I can't wait to see how it runs with standard temps. I adore this mainboard, lots of characteristics, and it looks quite fairly.

fantastic board..very stable..running 24ǝ,ive read mixed reviews and was hesitant to get..but i have to say i am really pleased with it..ive had problems (so far..had for about a year now) user friendly bios...incredibly very good drivers...straightforward as hell to overclock. heatsinks easy to eliminate for watercooling. if youre going to use bottom pci-e slot with a dual slot card...a situation with 8 or more expansion slots in the back is a should....so basically you need to have a lianli pc 80 or thermaltake armor plus complete tower case..one thing in that catgory. right here is the primary explanation ive posted this comment simply because i usually dont. I have the board completly water cooled and the temps are fantastic! but at first, when i was priming the cooling loop i didnt see that on of the mosfet barbs was leaking,so it leaked sufficient to get into every single slot on the entire board from prime to bottom! like the qpi dram card ,the sound card slot and card itself..all 3 of my graphics cards! I believed for sure the board was a 踰 frisbee at that point..lol.just to let you know, the energy was running via the board at the time. Needless to say...immediately after two days of stripping every little thing apart and cleaning out the blue coolant from every single slot and nook n cranny on the board..and putting it all back together...to my surprise..it booted up the initially time i tried it! and has been running flawless 24ǝ ever since! I am definately getting Asus boards from now on..let me inform ya!next time ill check greater for leaks! lol

Excellent features, best for overclockers and any person that wants a stable program beneath any conditions. Excellent looks. Supreme X-Fi sound card performs excellent. Bit pricey. Some computer software supplied by ASUS (gamer OSD, Wise Doctor) causes some games to crash (Fallout three). Other than that it's great. Every little thing is very well explained and setting my RAID0 was simple has pie.

I have had this ASUS Product for about 4 months now and I have nothing at all negative to report. I dont overclock (as of but) and have had no difficulties at all. I purchase the rog boards becouse of there reliability factor and have never ever been dissapointed. It boots and works. the computer software that is included was not applied but rather I downloaded the newest from asus web internet site and functions flawlessly. I also have the R.O.G. station to go with it and that performs for built in handle of the boards a lot of a lot of capabilities. I use this board for gaming and video editing as well as numerous other fun factors connected to computers. the video card slots are just too close with each other for me to run each my sapphire radion HD 4890 2g vapor-x cards I can only run 1. as nicely the sound card that came with does not do justice, so it was replaced with a ASUS xonar D2X that had to be place on the lower PCI ex slot becouse nothing longer than the original inventive card will fit. this kinda operates out becouse the 4890 video card does not enable for a straight in fit for the audio card, they hit every single other. I suggest that before getting this board strategy and measure all your elements very first it is a great board and operates exceptionally properly. In my humble opinion, If you like excellent and relyability than this is a wonderful board, some of the difficulties can be worked around with some study, as i have performed, I will be adding two new 5870 2g asus video cards on the way, ought to fix the 2 card issue since the sapphire vapor-x cooling is the problem with fit (heat sinks on card are the real situation) other than this challenge i moved the sound card to the extremely bottom PCI express slot and have the begining of a monster Pc.Rampage II Extremeintel x25 ssd 80 gig2x seagate 320 gig1x samsung 1 terabyte drive12 gigs ocz 1600clcore i7 920 (soon to be an i7 980x)thermaltake 1200watt ps coolermaster haf 932rog controllerasus optical drive (internal sata) asus Blu-Ray player (externalƛx 4890 sapphire two gig vapor-x video card (soon to be 2x 5870 asus 2gig ea with eyefinity @ 12 ports 6 each and every)will add monitors later right now I have an ASUS 25.5 and HP 22 in in dual set up.Logitech g15 Keyboard and logitech 19x mouse.

If you're into OC'ing this is the board to have. For those who are just getting began, there are fairly basic presets/controls (i.e. CPU Level Up) and for the seasoned OC'ers ASUS left virtually every little thing customizable down to the nitty gritty. Only a couple of minor points. Definitely, the inch-longer-than-common ATX size tends to make cable routing difficult in some circumstances (mine was utilized in an Antec 1200 and I could barely use two out of the four conduit channels). Also, some of the smaller sockets on the mobo (i.e. where the LCD poster, EL I/O, and and so forth) were uncomplicated going in but tough in disconnecting. I utilized the LCD poster for some preliminary testing ahead of I put almost everything in the situation and had a true tough time removing it. The finish outcome was a single of the four wires on the LCD poster ripping off and me getting ฟ + shipping in the hole for a replacement.Nothing at all massive though otherwise to deter from the overall encounter. I did speak with 24ǝ ASUS technical support over the LCD poster ordeal and they were quite easy to get in touch with, friendly, and valuable. So if you do have a dilemma with the mobo, at least the staff is great :)

Superb Seeking Style.Great Circuit ProtectionStable Motherboard With Quite a few Overclocking Characteristics Inexpensive Free of charge Sound Card (mini card design) that won't fit in case properly and wobbles around. Throw it away and obtain a genuine sound card. Operating for approx 1 year! Please, if you're going to put an i7 processor in it, devote the added ๖ bucks to get a decent fan in it. Don't use the stock Intel fan, it causes way too a lot of difficulties. I have a giant cpu fan in here that turns slowly and is extremely quiet and keeps the cpu nice and cool.Take the time to hook up the ground wire when you're installing this thing.Anybody have any complications dualing two different ATI cards in this?

This board has been rock solid and difficulty totally free for me. Simple overclocking and much more features than I will ever use. The only con I can feel of is the value... I am sorry to hear the unfavorable evaluations. It makes me really feel pretty much guilty that my create has been so difficulty cost-free and has worked so well. With OCZ gold memory, I7 Core 920 CPU, Velociraptor drives, and 2 ATI video cards I have had this machine purring along at three.8 Ghz at 37 degrees C, for the last 6 months with out a challenge. It requires almost everything I can throw at it with out breaking a sweat. The highest temps I have had immediately after gaming challenging for three hours are CPU at 41 C and MB at 36 C with Zalman 9900 cooler. I enjoy it !!!
