Wow what can I say, wonderful board, a lot of toys, that we all like, thats why we bye it. Hey I even bought 3 following the very first two had problems(well rma'd), but why not transform, chasing the dream(under 400 dollar dream anyways)Once completely functional ASUS is usually exceeds my expectations. Ive been carrying out this considering that the P2B, a masterpiece for that time. There are so a lot of post and forums with the same concerns, its not appropriate ASUS ought to be slapped, We depend o them for the ideal, not the most fragile, I mean i barely touched the pins, and all hell broke loose. Please read on...... ATTENTION, why Oh why, did they make the socket pins so fragile, In no way had any issues with 775 sockets, OKay in a nutshell, When adding an aftermarket heatsink if you barely overtighten, you will loose 1 or 2 or maybe even 3 sticks of ram(I use important tracers with the leds truly easy to see solid light that dont move upon boot) The very first board i got I never checked the pins(ALWAYS Really should) I installed a 920 and my silverstone NT06E and 2 bank of ram was not funtioning. Of course changed the stick same with each stuck I put in there.RMA'd. Second board this time a utilized the intel fan, Houston all system are go, now the cause I didnt put the NT06E on was cuz i was waiting for Corsair H50, it arrives a set it up and all is running fine. two Days later get a fantastic deal on a 975x, Remove 920 chip, ever so gently slide in 975(slide is where i messed up)should of laid the case flat out, If have installed a number of 775 and other sockets with tilting the case a bit and puttng the chip in. So I boot and all three bank of ram have solid lit leds and computer system wont post, of soure Im thinking its the CPU, so would you! So i put the 920 back in identical thing, well soon after generating up some new words not fit for print, I walk away come back later to figure what went wrong, nicely that didnt support, so of course the only factor changed was the cpu,but now the old cpu wont perform either. And then like a bolt of lightning,I had a believed,I took out the H50 heatsink, and ran it with out it still no post,so then i took out the chip, and inspected the Socket with two pair of 150x cheater reading glasses and behold there were messed up pins.To test my theory, I got a razor blade and extremely carefully tried to bend them back. Cpu back in boot, and i get two sticks of ram working.Very good enough RMA'd it got yet another and was incredibly carful with this one,and all functions properly.MORAL of the story, they just dont develop them like they utilized too. SHame on Asus for not warning of this, and whats with the bottom pins going sideways?

Solid, I like all the small points ASUS put into this board, they have believed of just about every little thing... Except the PCI express slots, they miss aligned the slots so that the very first expansion slot on you're case is unusable.the X-fi takes up a second. the vast majority of instances have seven expansion slots. So if you run a 3 way SLI setup, the last card won't fit! be careful which case you get/use, or forgo the 3 way SLI. This is only a dilemma if you plan on using SLI, or cross fire, and you have a smaller case. Other than that, I really like it. I am working with an Antec nine hundred two case that has eight expansion slots, so I'm fine with it.

None... motherboard was pseudo-inoperative on arrival. MB was inoperative on arrival and would power up only to close to instantly enter a "CPU over temperature" mode (i.e. shutting down) even with a Corsair H50 CPU heatsink attached and a HVA program in place. I need to have carried out my research just before purchasing this MB as it seems plenty other people speak ill of this motherboard as nicely.

There's quite small this board doesn't do. Test points for ALL the voltages, on the fly OC, handy poster and a rock solid construct. This board just screams excellent. If you don't purchase this board...what are you thinkin'?? A bit pricey but in this globe you get what you pay for. I have blown up two mobos from another manufacturer (starts with an E) due to the fact they selected inferior components in the vreg circuitry and their create high quality was lacking. ASUS create high quality stuff but their support isn't too hot. I was a telecom engineer for thirty years and know a bit about electronics...this board rocks! This is hands down the very best board I've ever owned and arguably the greatest board on the market and it's been about for a while now. I can not feel of a cause not to suggest this board with very high marks. Only a P6T V2 come close but it's still not the board the Rampage is IMHO.

This board has everything you will need/want and then some. You can tweak and fine tune every thing on this board. There is also no shortage of bling on this board. There is also numerous nice and thoughful touches on this board that you can only get with Asus like a lighted I/O panel, OC indicator lights, front panel Q-connect, etc. If you like to OC your pc and you know, and I emphasis know, what you are doing, this is definately the board for you. None so far. I have used Asus MBs for 15 years and by no means when had any issues with them. This board is definately not for beginners. If you are a light OCer or somebody afraid to open up their case this is definately NOT the board for you. The P6T series from Asus is a much greater selection and a lot more affordable for the novice user. Why pay the premium for advanced capabilities you are never going to use.

Owned it for a couple of days now, and its good so far. Didn't have any complications what so ever, the good quality is top notch. POSTED very first try, and it is wonderful. The sound card that comes with it is terrific too, good small addition. The ROG logo lights up, as well as the Start/Reset buttons, looks really fly.Runs pretty cool. Rear I/O Panel light doesn't work, but not worth taking a egg off.Cost? You get what you pay for though. When installing, make certain to plug in the LCD Poster and Rear I/O Panel in Prior to screwing your board down, it will save you a ton of hassle attempting to get fatty fingers in there to plug them in.Method:Antec 1200ASUS Rampage II Extreme w/ X-Fi Audioi7-920 w/ XIGMATEK Dark-Knight heatsinkƒ) Sapphire Radeon HD 5770's in CrossfireCorsair Dominator 6GBCorsair HX850WWD Raptor 74GBWD Black 640GB

Once again the Asus team has come by way of with a remarkable MB. MB does as it was supposed to do as designed by the Engineers at Asus. This is my fourth from Asus and Posted up effortless as cheezy. I have attempted at least 8 diverse boards for building in the last 15 years such as Abit which was the industries ideal but lost that crown to Asus. Their had been a couple of bad reviews written which includes bad boards of issues @ posting so this is what I would advocate to those that had troubles : Did you de-static yourself prior to your develop ( static electricity is the biggest killer of builds) De-stat can be accomplished by touching one thing metal just before you touch any of your new cp parts. Ok Posting complications Did you put the ram in the suitable slot. I had produced this mistake ahead of check your MFG for which slot to use as you 1-2-three-four-five-6 slot if you are utilizing two sticks of ram in put them in the 2-4 slot your MB will not post. Bottom line is don't be afraid to ask Very good luck in your construct No CONS fantastic board Good MFG

I just got this motherboard yesterday, along with the last couple of parts of my laptop or computer, and put it all together last night. So far, every little thing is operating, and I haven't found any dead slots. The manual was really useful in pointing out what everything is, though its a bit confusing a times.BIOS menu was fantastic. Uncomplicated to realize for the most portion. Quite happy at this point. The PCI-E slots are all a bit cramped together. I got a Sapphire 2GB 4890 vid card from Newegg and this thing comes with its own huge cooler. The sound card that comes with the board would not fit in the designated black slot mainly because there wasn't enough room with the video card in there. I had to get rid of the shiny plastic case from the sound card in order to get it in there. It fits, just a bit cramped. If I got one more of these vid cards down the line, I don't feel it would fit in the other blue PCI-e slot. Something to be considerate about. So far, so good. The LEDs make the board look fairly neat, overclocking looks uncomplicated, though I haven't began that however. Hopefully I don't get started receiving any issues down the line.

Superior Products but Terrible support and organization management. I can not speak about this MB. Nevertheless I did acquire an ASUS MB two Years ago, the P5Q3Deluxe. Great board, had every thing I wanted, worked good for 2 years and all of a sudden stopped. Would not POST, no keyboard, mouse or monitor. Not a big deal, it had a three year warranty, ha ha ha. I named and called and waited on line for more than an hour, no one answered or any type of indication on how lengthy the wait was. Looked on line for a replacement. They did not even make one more board that come close to providing the similar capabilities. Lastly I bought one more brand to replace what I thougt was a good product and organization. SUPPORT is TERRIBLE! I did adore the board until it failed. I would appear elsewhere first.

Has performed admirably performing almost everything one could ask. Package was complete, manual well written and install went like a breeze, with satisfactory boot on 1st attempt. OC'ers dream....really stable voltage regulation. Have 24뤅 profile at 3.7 Ghz and temps in low 50's at 100% load @ CPU voltage of 1.125. Other profiles at 4., 4.two and four.four GHz on air, all but last w/ temps below 70 below full load. Survives all torture tests with aplomb. No 3 x PCI-E 16RIIIE w/ four x PCI-E 16, SAS, SATA 3 and USB three shoulda been out by now Paired with a hi end PSU like the SG-850 (same w/ Antec CP-850 / Corsair HX-850 I'd imagine), voltage graphs are entirely flat under any and all torture tests to date.

Wonderful features and easy to overclock. Perfectly matched board for Cooler Master Storm Sniper case and significant CPU cooler such as the V8 (whos fan failed quite early). This is bigger than ATX so do your homework. Updated drivers and software package have my 920 running 965 three.2 and staying cool, rapidly, and the software for tweaking such as 1 click overclock is good. DOnt care considerably for the daughter board x-fi sound card which is truly just software sound. PIA to update drivers and get funcitoning correctly and even so the good quality is somewhat poppy/crackly but almost certainly better than integrated. May possibly as properly by a devoted sound card. Loaded this board with 12 gigs of ram, huge cpu cooler, ram cooler, extremely large sapphire 4870 x2 in a Sniper case and have ample room for numerous extra fans, room to work and havent had any major bios, updating, or tweaking/overclocking problems. 1 slight memory glitch was fixed with a bios upgrade.

This is a excellent board that can take your chip to the brink of what it is capable of. Like most x58 boards it does suffer from the 222mhz wall and even with alot of tweaking I've only managed to get to 225mhz base clock for benching. The EZ flash bios tool is not so straightforward. I ended up employing a flash drive and working with their Afudos to flash it rather, which worked perfectly. It would be a nice feature, but it could never seem to see the bios files I had. Watercooling the chipset on the x58 boards has proved to be worthless as I did not get a single mhz higher of a maximum overclock and the chipset didn't run hot in the initial location. This isn't a con against the board it is just a don't waste your time comment.

The hardware and BIOS characteristics of this board are tons of enjoyable and, when they function, they function really properly. My 3rd board just died. The initial had a poor memory slot problem, the second had a strange CPU mounting concern that would not permit the cooler to sit tight against the CPU (causing it to run hot) I in fact had to remove the CPU mounting clamp and use the screws on the cooler to hold the CPU in place. Immediately after several months of, fairly uneventful operation the board died. Asus RMAd it. That RMA'd board just died this week with identical symptoms to the 1st board. Seems like Asus's QA has started to falter, their RMA method for the ROG boards is good, but their customer support staff is not constantly friendly and useful. Seems like you are bothering them or some thing. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Customer,We apologize for the problems you've been experiencing with this motherboard. Awesome good quality all about, Awesome tech support, Bios updates are quite standard and always obtainable. This board has been 100% amazing considering that the day I got it. I'd recommend it to anybody on the market for a X58 board. The cost? But I don't care since I got this open box and I got a essentially new 1 in the box. No cons here. This board is fantastic. Getting just upgraded from a Rampage Formula, I knew what I was getting. This is vintage Asus Good quality which is why I bought this with out any fears. Yes..... I have had bad boards from Asus, Even so, they have usually taken care of the dilemma and met my expectations. As to the board its self, Its an overvclocker's dream and is an easy install. If your installing a Raid, just read the manual that comes with really clear directions. Take your time, install all your ram and video cards and fire it up. This booted very first time out of the box no troubles. If you like the thought of gaming and overclocking, this is the ticket, its a screamer. Okay, the issues I do not like are, the cheesy sound card and the cost. Nevertheless I bought it any way because I enjoy the functions on this board, I also got a ฮ.00 rebate. Asus makes creating your own system a no brainer. where this board seems to trip up a quantity of individuals is in the Bio's section. If you do not understand what you are doing in the BIO's, then take some time to discover. This board has additional features that you can imagine, do your homework and its all good.

So far so great. I don't have the concerns that some of you other guys appear to have with this board. My pins had been all the way they were supposed to be, my ram slots work (or at least the 3 I'm utilizing, considering that I genuinely have no intentions to go over 6gb of RAMS. Sound card worked. I definitely like the LED poster, really nice to see what's going on, over the beeps. Also, an additional cool factor that I didn't feel about just before, but the way the board is setup, it makes sure the PCI-E cards will all be upside down, which means the only dust that gets inside of your graphics cards is the dust circulating in the air below it (which minimizes the dust in your high-end graphics cards). LEDs on the mobo are cool looking, because I have a see-via panel on my case. I haven't had a chance to mess around with the OC capabilities, but I'm sure it works comparable to the rest of the board. It also comes with three leads to monitor heat of whatever theyre attached to which shows up the LED poster as properly. Pricey...but you pay for what you get. I wasn't positive if I ought to put this in the cons or not, but the board is slightly bigger than the regular, which shouldnt be an problem in most circumstances. Even so my case has cable management by way of the back, and heat partitions, which assumes the board will follow the standard. Due to the fact mine does not, its type of a tight fit. My heat partition for the PCI-E location doesn't go in, because it requirements to seat itself around the side of the mobo, which the mobo covers the whole its supposed to go into. Also, the cable management slots are slightly covered, so in order to get some of the bigger cables in and out, I require to loosen my board. Not really a big deal, in particular if you don't have my case, nonetheless even if you do, it's really manageable. I'm in all probability going to file down the partition to make it fit into spot I bought this as part of a set for a new rig:Thermaltake Spedo AdvanceIntel i7 930 processor (with stock heatsink)Asus Rampage II MoboOCZ Gold DDR3 1600 2GBx3Sticks850w Corsair Modular ATX PSUWD 1TB 7200RPM Hard DriveNvidia GT240 (Until my Sapphire 4870x2 comes back from RMA)Windows 7 Dwelling EditionAnd the only thing I didn't purchase was a DVD drive, given that I just took my lightscribe DVD burner from my old machine

Outstanding overclocking capacity, a lot of choices in the BIOS, I haven't had a single dilemma with this board but, making use of it with OCZ XMP series DDR3-1600. Can't really believe of any, I wasn't able to use the Q connectors due to the fact I have a radiator overhanging the motherboard, but that's not a con, they're in normal locations. You can still plug the headers into the motherboard directly like normal. This board is awesome, I have had no issues with it, and I extremely suggest it if you can afford to acquire it. I got 4GHz uncomplicated on a C0 i7 (wish I had a D0), every thing is rock solid at somewhat low voltages.

The solid state caps and phase cooling can genuinely be appreciated. This board has kept my ram, cpu, and the nb, overclocked to high levels considering that the machine was born. Totally no complains, no trouble with drivers, no absolutely nothing! At the time cost was nonetheless the identical as now just hovering about 踈 range. Not a large deal you are obtaining your moneys worth. Next develop will be in a few years waiting for USB three.SATA 6gb/sPCI x3.and of course the new sandy bridge cpus from intel to come out. High quality style, Good overclocking tools. I don't like the placement of the pci slots. You cant have some thing in your pci slot and have two video cards in X16. I have a pci sound card and I realized I cant put a internal net adapter due to the fact how the pciX1 slots are placed one is covered by a graphics card and the other if i put the card it it would hit the NB heatsink. I would recommend this board to everyone seeking for a high excellent overclocking board.

This motherboard is great. The initial release of the board was a bit quirky, some people experiencing the "cold boot" problem, and some early BIOS versions and drivers that had some compatibility/stability issues. Since then though all these issues have been worked out by ASUS, and those issues were few and far between anyway. I purchased this board when it was released and I have in no way had the cold boot concern or any other dilemma that some men and women had complained about. Most of what I've heard of this board nonetheless has been extremely high praise, and I would have to agree so far. I've had this motherboard since December ང and it's been nothing short of amazing. Best notch performance and stability, overclocks almost by itself and is totally stable, and just about every benchmark I've thrown at this thing has been crushed. Early benchmark reviews of the board don't do it justice, it performs far far better than was initially reported. 100% stable across the board because day one, even at high clocks. There are minor flaws with an otherwise wonderful piece of hardware, but not enough for me to change my rating. 1st of all, the size can be an issue for those who strategy on going Tri-SLI, even in a regular full tower case. It is larger than common ATX form factor boards, and as a result, the PCI slot placement is various. The PCIE slots end up being lower on the board than normal ATX boards, so even in a full tower case with the normal 7 expansion slots, the top slot ends up being unusable(too high), the bottom PCIE slot where the third card would go only has one expansion slot available rather of the required two. The HAF-932 is an example of this, though other x58 boards are fine for Tri-SLI in this case and comparable. If you want to go Tri-SLI with this board, you want a case with at least 8 expansion slots. Also, the USB, Firewire, and case wiring headers are placed directly under the third PCIE slot at the bottom, and there is no room to access them if the slot is occupied. Other than those fairly minor flaws, the board is fantastic, and I wouldn't trade it for something on the marketplace these days. The only board out there that rivals this is the Classified. Really similar in efficiency, the 1 benefit the Classified has over this board is the 4th PCIE slot, permitting for Tri-SLI plus a PhysX card. An additional note for overclockers is that, at least in my encounter, the NB temperatures remain surprisingly low even when pushing the board to it's limits. Tri and Quad SLI setups, as well as Crossfire setups, do incredibly well with this motherboard, and scale a lot superior with i7's anyway. The BIOS interface is really user-friendly and easy to fully grasp, even for a initial time overclocker. If you're looking to get into an x58 setup, and you want to do some overclocking and heavy benching, get this board. At the moment I'm running the R2E x58, i7 965, 6GB Corsair Dominator GT 2000Mhz, 2 EVGA GTX 295 Quad-SLI, two RaptorX 150GB Raid0, and a custom watercooling setup for the CPU.
