I attempted using this to get rid of it, and it did in truth clean any adhesive/paste it touched, but the bond was to thin and it couldn't access the gist of the paste unde the CPU. Fortunately I attempted to just slide it off with decent force after about an hour...which worked instantaneously. all in all I did anything it said to do, and anything went smoothly. It even added a bit of shine to the CPU. Is the CPU supposed to be shiny at all? Appears ok. No, it didn't corrode of the metal housing of the CPU in case your asking yourself. Very, incredibly glad I got this.
