Works for what I needed it for
Comment:
The intent for the board was to use it as a test rig with a virtualization setup. Out of the box the board functioned well. I did not use the sata cable provided, as I've heard problems with it. I've installed a second GIGe NIC for my Virtual network. Although the NIC installed on the board worked fine so I chose to use it also for my service VMware Console. I would imagine with if this was a gaming rig with a bigger video card installed it would be a little problem with items being placed in the pci slot. I had the system up and running for three days so far without problems. Ide 80gig WD for ESX Two 500GB WD SATA II mirriored On board video Masscool Cpu Cooler AMD Athlon X2 64 6000

My First Replacement MB
Comment:
I have been using computers for over 25 yrs. now and done my share of installing drives, memory, and various types of video and sound cards, but never had worked with a motherboard replacement. I had a motherboard that suddenly died on an Athlon X2 3800+ computer system and with the help of my brother, I ordered this board. When it arrived, I took it to my brother's house along with the computer. My brother kind of likes doing work on computer insides so I watched as he installed this board. The only thing I might have done differently than he did is to label each wire pulled from a socket on the old motherboard so as to know what they all are. He installed this motherboard in an HP Pavilion desktop in under an hour, start to finish. When we started it up, it worked perfectly. The only annoyance was Windows Vista insisting on being reactivated - a chore to do, but not that hard. The computer functions very well. Would buy again.

Nice board
Comment:
I'm happy with this board. It was included in a bare-bones kit that I used to rebuild my parent's computer. My only wish is that of a 2nd IDE adapter. I have not transitioned to SATA yet, so the optical drive is not connected. I'm running Linux on this board and did have to get a newer kernel compiled to work with the audio chipset.

very nice board
Comment:
This is a very nice board for the price. I use it with an AMD 64 X2 2.3 ghz cpu and 4g of ram and it runs very fast. Excellent (large) colour diagram of the board to refer during installation. Would definitely buy another.

It has potential
Comment:
You never need state of the art nor top shelf, just a good foundation. I went with this option because I just wanted the PCIE16. 4GB of memory is more than enough. For the price the onboards are good but I replaced the ethernet and sound. I plan on replacing the graphics because they aren't much better than the expansion board I had in my other computer. It maybe classed as a geforce 6 but it's more like a souped up Geforce 3.

Great product at a low price...

I've built many systems for myself and friends over the years and have used Biostar MB's as my goto foundation for them. I've never had issues with Biostar boards. I'm not opposed to trying different boards, but hey, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Not Bad
Comment:
Bought the board to built a little system for my Wife. The price is great, Would have been nice to have a paper manual instead of on the CD. The RJ45 jack worked for about an hour. Had to put a PCI card in. Other than that the board works fine.

Great Value
Comment:
I bought the MB as part of a Barebone kit. It was back ordered as it was out of stock. Let me tell you, it was worth the 2 week wait. I run it with a AMD 2.0 GHZ, 4 GB of RAM and a 320GB SATA drive. Awesome performance. I am not a hard core gamer, so I can't say it is High performance, but it satisfies all my needs in a MB. Looking to up grade another computer in the near future and thinking about this MB again.

4 Words - Easy, Performance, Dependable, Value
Comment:
I have put two of these boards together and let mr tell you what a breeze they are. They provide a(easy to follow)simple color foldout diagram layout of the board which makes it perfect for the first time builder. I made them with a single core 2.7Ghz LE-1660 and a dual core 2.7Ghz 7750 Black Edition processors both with 800Mhz. 2GB memory and 320GB HD's and they both boot up FAST each and every time. So happy with them that I forgot I initially bought them for the price. My only deduction was one star on features, because it does'nt have a DVI port or a PCI Express x 1 slot, but it is no big deal. Highly Recommend

decent
Comment:
Easy installation. Nothing about the install was unusual or hard. There are six SATA ports. Only one IDE - but then, IDE is yesterday's tech. There's plenty of room for PCI expansions and it has more capability for memory than you will use.

Short on ports
Comment:
This was included on a barebones kit. I have built many computers for myself for 10 years. I agree with the other reviewers that the board has a minimal amount of plug-ins. I am only upgrading an office computer, so my needs were minimal, and it does everything I want it to do. For others this may be insufficient, as to IDE port, RAM, PCI, onboard video, all rather basic.

it took a while to get it to work
Comment:
the first board did not work...got an exchange board then everything was a cakewalk ..one IDE channel is a pain if using older peripherals it makes the move to SATA a good move (which is a safe bet)....quick and dependable with the AMD X2 CPU (wife loves it) A sound card is required if using an IDE CD drive as there is no analog input on the board (just digital)and my digital output did not match the board input ????
