Comment:
Good case!! My MB temp went from 35c to 21c, and even helped drop my CPU temp. Upgraded from an Antec P183 and should say it was the correct selection to go with the Cooler Master 942 HAF!! I bought the case from a local vendor here in Japan because shipping FPO AP is too pricey, but I do acquire all my other PC goods from Newegg.

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Cons:Kinda uglySome annoying screws

Pros:Surprisingly quietAmazing airflowLots of room for stuff
Comment:
Does what you'd expect - huge case that keeps everything cool.Had some trouble taking out the 'hood' that's supposed to go over the PSU - it's a totally useless component, that you HAVE to remove to put in your PSU, but they apparently had Hercules screw it on with a power drill. Had to use a wrench from the other side to get it off.The screws for the expansion card backplates suck too, but they're usable and easily replaceable.Other than that, the case was a joy to work with. The tool-less bay designs, ample space to run cables behind the motherboard, wheels to move the beast around, and solid construction are all great. I first turned it on expecting it to sound like a lawnmower in a wind tunnel but it's extremely quiet.Good case overall!

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Cons:-Poor quality control (read below)

Pros:-Huge!!!-Great paint job(textured matte black)-Lots of supplied accessories-Cool and quiet -USB3 ready
Comment:
Purchased this unit to improve the cooling and ease of filter cleaning of my rig, previously housed inside an A*tec 902.Huge size, a lot of space to mount your hardware without any particular trouble, but... oh boy... quality control is badly needed in the facility that manufacture this case!!!First, the brass standoff were kind of loose, and when I installed the motherboard, the simple fact of trying to fix the screw was enough to strip the thread of the standoff...!?!Then, when came the time to install the GPU, the holes to fix the PCI bracket didn't line up properly, so I had to force and literally bend the back panel to be able to put the screws in; all this seem to be putting a lot of stress on the motherboard PCI slot, but the the fact that my motherboard is somewhat loose due to those cheap standoff probably allowed some movement to facilitate the situation. Now, the positive... this case has been updated, it now has a plug that fit on your motherboard USB3 internal header PLUS they include a piece of wire to adapt to a situation that only provide for back panel USB3 connection..... brilliant! The paint job is fantastic, I really like the textured matte black finish on this case. The cooling is great, particularly since I added a 200mm fan; it produce a pleasing sound, not disturbing in anyway. Please note that you will have to use the included 8 pins CPU power extension and will have to purchase a 24 pins connector extension if you want to run your cables behind the motherboard tray. The epilogue to this review could be: Sound good, look good, does the job, but need better quality control. And yes, if CoolerMaster read this review I would like to know what they have to say.

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Comment:
There's a LOT to enjoy about this case. Several thoughtful touches, very good style, lots of space to work in. Overall I was really content with it till... The side fan began producing an unpleasant flapping noise right after about a week. For spending 赨 on a case, this is fully unacceptable. I don't want to have to go by means of the hassle of shipping CM their junk fan in order to get a replacement, I'm just going to get a new one. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed.Other nitpicks are reasonably minor: The removable panel on the front is a good touch, but it pops off a small too effortlessly and can make the case awkward to carry. Two of the brass motherboard standoffs stripped out under minimal pressure in the course of installation. Be very cautious putting these in. The side panel itself feels a small awkward and doesn't snap neatly into place like I've noticed with a lot of other instances. You have to hold it in place with one hand while you put in the thumbscrews with the other. Till it began to sound like a helicopter, it was the ideal case I'd ever owned. Component failure immediately after a week is a pretty major buzzkill though. For shame, Coolermaster. For shame. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Client - We apologize for any inconvenience. Please make positive when screwing down the standoffs that they are screwed down straight down and not at an angle. Please don't force anything. In regards to the fan, please reference this assessment and file a portion request so we can get that rectified for you. Was a really nice case to function with in my system construct. Lots of room to work with and very good wire management choices. Included case fans are incredibly quiet and move lots of air. Only complaint is the USB 3. cables do not consist of an adaptor to connect directly to the MOBO.On my Asus P8P67 Pro MOBO I just mounted the little three. box internally in a tough drive bay then connected the cases 3. cables to the box so that I would be able to use the front side 3. USB ports.

Comment:
Full tower, very quiet air cooled chasis. Even with the four fans I can barely hear this thing run or even power on. The cable management system is excellent and helps with the cooling air flow. Fits all motherboards with ease, even an extended ATX, and video cards. I have one setup with a Gigabyte Radeon HD 6950, at 230mm, fits with ease. None.

see my other review the side fan filter likes to rub on the fan. I utilised a knife and a zip tie to fix this, I cut the filter just to get the zip tie by way of. ran it three-four honeycomb hole and cut the filter and brought it out, then tightened up the zip tie and this hold the filter off the fan minor not enough for a hole egg to go away

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Comment:
Beautifully completed case, inside and out. Solid standard construction. A lot of options for airflow. Not overpriced and (in my opinion) what you get is in line with what it costs. Most every little thing works as intended. Side-mounted challenging drives work excellent, there are a lot of bays, and the doors will do fine more than time if not man-handled. Much more than 13" of clearance for long video cards. 9 expansion slots. Switch for front fan LED. All the plastic is thin. Filters on fans are near useless and all but the front are a pain to access. If you program on installing an further 140mm fan on leading, plan on spending a couple of hours rerouting the front panel connections. Energy and HD LEDs are held in place with loose friction fit and will likely fall out without user intervention with hot-melt glue or RTV silicone. No 80mm x 15mm fans supplied for included video card support... and the support can't be used with the included side-panel fan duct unless a lot plastic is cut away. No fan supplied for the included/added air duct behind the hard drive bays. Not meant for EATX motherboards, even although there are 9 expansion slots. Included casters are a joke, will most likely break below a loaded box, and there is zero clearance for energy supply air intake without having them unless the p/s is mounted to push warm air into the case. five.25" front SATA HD drive bays are good, but the backplane is quite delicate. Early adopters beware ~~ front panel USB3 is a cable pair that runs by way of the case to the rear USB3 connectors. As with most cases I've bought in the past decade, included fans are low-cost (not sturdy), but are not overly loud. Same with the side panel thumb-screws. Good sliding door to cover on/off and other buttons but no cover for front panel USB, audio, e-SATA, and Firewire. 5.25" drive bay securing mechanism works minimally, and not at all if you don't like loose drives. Dilemma fixed by utilizing screws to attach the other side of your drives. Manufacturer Response:Dear Valued Consumer - We apologize for any inconvenience. We are a bit confused in regards to your review. In regards to the energy supply, the fan requirements to be facing down. It does not push air into the case even if the fan is facing up. The case is developed for EATX workstation motherboards and will completely support them. In regards to the USB three., the case was created when three. did not have a standardized header as it is suitable now. Past and new clients of the Haf X will get the updated cable below warranty via the Portion Request link below. We will not let our customers hanging like that. COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Comment:
A vast improvment more than the other HAF cases I currently own, the all black inside and out is a nice touch, the cables reach exactly where I need the to go, it is fairly quiet, I hear litte fan noise and does not sound like I am driving 90 MPH down the highway in a tornado. Eveything is effortless to get too, the front pannels are straightforward to take off and put back on, the slider over the energy button keeps my cats from turing it on or off when they seams to step on it. THe added Video card bracket is good for those heavy Video cards to keep tension off of the mobo. The fan funnel is also good. I do not like the way the front pannel USB wires have to be employed. They have to go from inside the case and wrap about to the back of the case USB ports. If you are excellent with Jerry Rigging, then you can take those cables with the Back bracket of the one that comes with mobo and maintain it all inside if you have too. Would have been nice to have 2 more fans, 1 for the top and one for the removable ari funnel. The door fan sounded like it was rubbing on the side of the case till I loosened a couple of screws on it then it got quiet once more. I have 3 unique HAF instances I have the Haf X, 932 and the 922.The X series has alot of improvement more than the other two. I am pleased with this case. Just wished the blue USB calbes that I have to strech outside of case in fact had a plug that goes onto the mobo rather. But I will jerry rig it so that all those cables will be inside rather of outside the case. Not going to give it any minus EGGs count of cables. USB three. is nonetheless in newbie stage so I guessing as soon as it all gets standardlized then that will not be a future concern

The HAF-X is an particularly well made case. It is quite huge, so there is lots of space for anything you could ever want to add into it. Durable, spacious, remarkable cable management, awesome air-flow and support for the newer QUAD-SLI/XFIRE boards.I would acquire this all more than once more, and it would be the initially case I recommended to any individual. None It is incredibly significant. Whilst this isn't a bad thing, make confident you have enough room for it. The photos do not accurately show just how big the HAF-X is.

* Included mainboard power cable extender saves time searching for 1 right after realizing you want it* Air flow screens all across the front & the expansion card slots* Front air flow screens are incredibly straightforward to get rid of/replace* Locking mechanism for front bays are awesomely cool* Interior drive rails are simple to use* Wide enough to fit my Cooler Master H70 cooler - barely* Rubber grommets for cable pass-throughs are wonderful* Great air flow keeps temps to a minimum* Interior paint is a plus* Side panels come off with two thumb screws every single, then swings out like a hinge, then off. It doesn't get less complicated* It has a large amount of air flow, as intended* So significantly interior room you can pretty much build a hammock in it * Not enough room for 2nd 200mm fan on top!!!* Not enough room for wiring behind mainboard tray if all HDD slots utilized - the side panel must be extended out just a small farther. Some genuine imaginative cable management should be utilised when you have several HDD to install* Front hotwire bays may possibly brick your HDD. SATA connectors are not prepared for this sort of attachment scheme. I bent several wires on my HDD attempting to make it fit.* Bottom dust filter not effortlessly removed for cleaning* Can't add a fan to the bottom* Can't add a fan to the video card support bracket* No dust filters for the top fan producing it straightforward for stuff to fall into the case and fan* No filters for the rear and front screens* Can't add a fan to the video card support bracket* Video card shield is a waste of time even with a 120mm fan attached in it* No rubber feet to lift case off floor* The case is already incredibly tall but with the added wheels it won't even fit under my desk Greatest complaint is that you can't add an additional fan to the top of the case, even although they say you can. The cabling from the I/O panel is in the way. This is a major oversight IMO and the reason I knocked off an egg. I wasted 20 bucks on a fan since of this.If you have hardwood floors dust is a significant difficulty. The fact you have to eliminate the PSU to alter the filter is rather lame. And the fact that there aren't any feet for the bottom, forcing the case to rest directly on the floor, is an oversight and harms airflow for the PSU. I've had to put the case on 1x2 strips to get it off the floor a bit.The front and rear screens seriously really should have dust filters too. With all the negatives taken into account I still think this is the finest case I've ever built with. The temps have been keeping about 5c to 10c above ambient under light loads. To me this is an superb case that I would highly recommend to any individual who is serious.

This case has tons of room 3 230mm fans, 1 140mm in the back. Wire management is great!!!! This case is a fantastic purchase for the funds. If you obtain this you will not be dissatisfied!!! Case is slightly heavy, one thing to anticipate from a full tower. Case did not come with the 230mm for the second opening on the leading. The motherboard insert is sort of cheap, the brass motherboard insert stripped the metal and i have some shed inserts, but two come already installed and and helps hold the board fairly solid!!! I will come across some nuts to tighten the inserts!!!!

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Cons:Back of the case does not align with video card. Can't screw in gtx580 video card and had to use VGA holder. One triangular metal lip at the outer bottom of the case (designed to hold the case together) was pointed outward (stab hazard) when it should have been folded in like all the other lips.Easy to confuse motherboard screws for fan screws. They both look exactly alike except that fan screws are 2mm longer (yes, 2mm, not 2cm).

Pros:Easy motherboard installation and easy hard drive and DVD drive installation.Huge 200mm low noise fans keep the case cool.USB 3.0 front panel headers and industrial styling if that's your thing.
Comment:
I had high expectations for this case and I am disappointed in the final product.Neutral observation: The CPU cutout on the motherboard tray is useless for Sandy Bridge boards. Not really a negative since I installed my heatsink cooler before I installed the motherboard in the case. Just keep in mind that the cutout was not designed for the LGA1155 socket.Details on the Negatives:My case came with manufacturing defects: #1 - one of the metal lips on one of the outside corners of the case was not completely folded and I had to hammer it in. It was protruding out ready to be stepped on. This is a safety hazard.#2 - The back of the case (where the slots are) does not align properly with the video card (this is the case fault, everything else is installed well, I triple checked my asusp8p67pro and evga 580gtx installation). This means that I can't screw my EVGA gtx580 card in and I am forced to use the VGA card holder.I contemplated shipping the case back, however, my computer works fine it's just that manufacturing defect #2 limits my ability to do SLI.Overall, I feel intelligently taken by CoolerMaster. The case has enough defects to make it mediocre but not enough defects to be worthy of RMAing it back to CoolerMaster.I give it a 2 out of 5 stars because the case works for my needs now, but it hinders expandability. For example, what if I decide to add a sound card and then I find that I can't screw it in because the back of the case does not align properly?I have been told in the forums to push the back of the case in so that it aligns with my video card but this is unacceptable for a $200 case. Even if I did this, I would have to permanently deform the back of the case (unthinkable for a $200 case).I understand that other people have had positive experiences with the Haf X, however my experience has been mediocre. This is not the quality that I expected from a $200 case.

My subsequent upgrade is a 6 core 1366 cpu and perhaps a 2nd AR 1485 480 EVGA for sli. But for now my rig is near ideal. The 2nd fan is avail ont he coolermaster shop for around ฤ w/shipping. A technicians dream for a case. The only other worth talking is the Antec 1200. Individuals who say they can't find holes. Possibly you want to go to an A+ class. All the holes are there and use a V6GT or a V8 coller for the best match. I use the sata hot swap bays for a mirrored set and there are a lot of holes for air flow. Working with a GTX 480 with the fan shroud with no concerns. Modern enough card and big sufficient to support most users on sizes. I use a ASUS Sabertooth board with an I7950 and 12 GB GSkill ram. The lower ram makes clearance no issue for the cooler.

Comment:
Extremely sturdy model, it's built to last and has a great appear to it. The way almost everything is put together makes it really silent, which is a big plus. And even though the fans are as large as they come.... they run silent. I fully suggest this model. The fan that attach's to the case door will have a hard time closing if you have a massive video card inside with the support bracket on it. Wasn't tricky to eliminate the air funnel, but still some thing to note. The air flow unit that goes in the middle of the laptop or computer does not come with a fan for it, plus it has a difficult time clipping in place. Also the best of the case only comes with 1 of the giant fans, the other is sold separately. All of this won't break the deal though, I was able to get around this little problem with no sweat. Just one thing for you to take into account when obtaining it. I'm incredibly impressed by the good quality put into this model, I will be certain to obtain comparable models of the HAF for future builds.

COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case
Cons:-Rear CPU cutout is off center (Asus P8Z68). Cannot reach the left screws for the heat-sink.-Side fan once and awhile makes a, quiet, rubbing sound.-Left side panel can get caught on the chassis, making it difficult to remove and can cause you to bend the lip.-Included screws seem to be 50/50 for cross-threading.-Personally don't like the feel of the cheap plastics on the outside, especially the button panel slider.

Pros:-Included fans keep it well ventilated. Overall very quiet.-Tonnes of space for hardware and wiring.-Great Cooler Master tool-less drive bays.-Comes with wheels, helpful when this thing is loaded full of hardware(Probably weights nearly 50 pounds loaded), and gives it some clearance to help minimize dust intake.
Comment:
I got this for function over form. I do not think it is a particularly good looking case (vulgar with cheap plastic accents), but the cooling performance is second to none.If all you are looking for is the best cooling, don't look any farther.

Pros:Adapter for motherboard screws, quiet, place to hide and attach cables, USB3 front panel
Comment:
Great case, lot of room, quiet for the number and sizes of the fans. I had some problems with the front panel because it is connected with a USB connector which was at the back of my motherboard (Asus Sabertooth P67) instead of on the motherboard. Had wire the cables through one of the watercooling hole to go plug these wires.
