Great cooler. Dual fan setup and my Antec 900 operate excellent! Threads are stripped out of the hold down screws. Acquire nuts at the hardware retailer and you wont have to worry about it. Didn't comprehend how massive this thing was. Satisfied it fit fine in my case but wow....

Easy to setup, quiet with the resistors installed, I have a 2500K operating at four.five Ghz and 50-60 C. Had it for nearly 7 weeks now, tremendously impressed. Guidelines could have been a little more detailed, I ended up going to the Corsair blog on this cooler, a lot superior facts.

Does what it says. With my i5 760 I get 22C-25C idle temps and it rarely breaches 50C under full load. I run it at 2000rpm and it's not even that loud. It seriously moves air as well. I overclocked the CPU and there was barely any general temp rise. I'm satisfied. The only con I can believe of is that the instructions were worthless. Don't even bother seeking at them , they will just confuse you. Just youtube-search a video on how to install the a70 and you're golden. It's truly massive. I have to pop the one fan off to eliminate/add ram to my mobo. No biggie though.

four pipes rather of three like on the a50, simple install and the back plate mounting tends to make it rock solid.installed a tunnel on the push side to increase air velocity, keeps my intel i5 2500k three.3ghz at 25c at idle (only four-5 degrees far more than my area) and the ball bering fans run quiet at full speed. significant (but manageable), 3 pin connector so no variable speed except for supplied resistor, and you cant utilised higher-profile ram in the very first two slots. rubber fan mounts are kinda flimsy, mine came out of the box with a single half ripped (but i took them out to add tunnels. perhaps a four pin connector for variable speeds, and better directions for these who are not seasoned system builders.

This is an amazing heatsink and fan. With stock cooler that came with my Phenom II X4 940 temps had been 60c idle and 73c load. With the A70 temps are 34c idle and 45 load. Lucky I have the cooler master storm sniper case with a top exhaust fan. none. Had to relocate my two sticks of ram to the final row of slots on my motherboard. G.Ability PI ram has huge heatsinks.

The installation was relatively effortless for an aftermarket CPU heatsink. Note though that installation needs removing the motherboard. My Q9550 with no overclock and a stock CPU heatsink ran amongst 37-40 degrees Celsius. Just before paying for the Corsair A70 I overclocked my Q9550 from 2.83ghz to 3.three ghz. This bumped the common temperature up to the higher 48-53 degree range finding over 75 at full load. Right after I set up the Corsair A70 it dropped the at rest temperature back down to the 37 - 40 degree range and keeps the processor beneath 70 degrees with all four cores running at maximum. I am really joyful with the overall performance of the Corsair A70. This is a really substantial heatsink. I have a Thermaltake Armor+MX midtower situation and I had to take away the side panel fan to get it to fit. It also ends up a small close to my RAM which tends to make it difficult to add or remove RAM. This is most likely the greatest cooling option short of liquid cooling. Just make positive your case can fit it.

Large power. Fits my case. Moves a lot of air. Not really loud. Big. And sharp radiator blades. Reduce myself tightening thumb screws. And again, seriously i consider there are smaller radiators in Kia Sorentos but that speaks to effectiveness on your cpu.

I installed this on my socket AM3 ASUS M4A87TD board with a Phenom X6 1100T. It's good that this performs on the AM3 socket hardware without requiring a separate back-plate. There is just a single big rocker clip that holds it on. Extremely quiet and efficient at holding temps down. Very significant. Barely fits in my NZXT Guardian case. Might call for 3 or much more hands to set up. TIP: The latch on the rocker clip requires to be pulled 180* from the lock position to let sufficient length to grab the socket clip.I am a tiny skeptical that this massive factor won't slide down with just the clip on it, but I haven't noticed it moving. The base of the heatsink has to be manually centered on the CPU core given that it does not touch the AM3 socket surround hardware at all. It would be good if there was a plastic spacer that fit in between the heatsink base and the AM3 socket surround to enable center the heatsink. It would also be nice if the base was additional flat. The interface of the aluminum base plate with the copper heat pipes leaves some ridges which interrupt the mating surface.

Fits in my Antech 300 case. No PWM fans. On AM3 style mobo's the latch that you use to secure the heatsink to the CPU is also tall, and gets in the way of mounting one particular of the fans. You have to "cram" the bracket into the heatsink fins to make it fit. It fits a lot of sockets?

from the start, even without having broken-in compound, i knew this was a fantastic cooler. went from stock amd 965 cooler to this and my temps at idle had been blown away, as nicely as my temps at full prime 95 load.stock cooler idle: 30-40cthis: 23cstock cooler full load: 60c +this: 40c nothing obtain it for amd, even even though it can be tricky if the lever isnt as far down as it reaches. be careful with compound mainly because even though wiggling it to get it to fit, you can generate air bubbles and you don't want that.

This is the very best investment I have ever created in a CPU fan! Keeps my E7500 running below room temp ࿪F degrees) although operating complete load! This thing looks Amazing when it's installed. You will need a side window to enjoy the sheer win this thing brings to your computer system! This factor is huge... even with an Antec Twelve Hundred, I barely squeeked out space for this to fit. Had to eliminate 2 ram sticks and readjust fairly a bit of wiring, but simply outweighed by the Pros!Ought to have purchased from NewEgg... would have saved 20$. *ANGRY FIST SHAKE* @ you BB! (needed one ASAP though) The install for me was a discomfort, only mainly because of the design of the Antec Twelve Hundred. Since the power supply is situated @ the bottom of the case, it was challenging operating the MoBo power/CPU power cables given the huge size of this CPU cooler. The size of the cooler blocked one particular of the mount holes for the MoBo near the top rated (with the added weight of the heatsink/fans this needed to be secure). Took me a great hour to get the screw in [*sigh* fat fingers] but finally got it down tight. Observed that with the heatsink becoming so close to the top rated exhaust fan of the Antec Twelve Hundred I had to weave the cooler's attachable fan wires to stop them from being hit.Soon after the discomfort and suffering endured, got a hamstring cramp attempting to get that darn screw in (sad, I know), I realized that it was all worth it in the end. I've however to run additional tests on it, giving the bonding agent some time to work, but I'm expecting good things!

It claims to drastically outperform your stock heatsink and it does, fairly quiet at 2 feet away (my rattling 932 case makes additional noise) No 4pin fans which means no fan control, really poor instructions (worse than my mobo manual) had to wing it, but a heatsink replacement is not rocket science so it's not to hard. I am thinking of buying a pair of Triebwerk rad fans to use on this considering that the fans are ok but not great

extremely effective.nicely made.excellent materials and construction.will not repeat most of the other good critiques...other than to say it is a good air cooling unit. instructions leave much to be desired. why make such a great item and have such mediocre documentation???? The fans at 2,000 rpm can be a small loud, so I applied the added connection cables offered to get them down to 1,600. At 1,600 the fans operate at a sensible sound level (though this will probably have an impact on cooling, it was a trade-off that I was content to make). On an intel MB the unit and fans can be set east-west or north-south. I went east-west with fans aimed at the rear fan of my corsair 600t case. Seems to function well. The 1 fan was resting on my 1st memory dimm. But, I found that you can slip the bottom of that fan into the cooling unit a couple of fins up on the cooler (instead of up against the bottom of the final fin) and that leaves room among the memory dimm and the fan - and the fan nevertheless locks solidly into location. Simple repair and customizable based upon the size of your dimm and situation.

Great cooling. The dual fans and the significant surface location truly take care of the heat. The integrated fans are of high high quality. When adequately regulated, they can only be heard when the machine is under heavy load (games).Installation, compared to just about something else that big, is quite uncomplicated. This unit fits a wide selection of sockets and most likely will for some time to come due to the fact of it's versatile design. In the ุ range, this is it. The instruction booklet is atrocious, I won't make any excuses right here. It's terrible, it demands to be replaced. This is crucial: I read in some testimonials that they can't regulate the fan speed due to the fact the fans only come with 3-pin connectors.Appear in your motherboard BIOS, and pick "Voltage" or "Power" for the handle on the CPU FAN. For "RPM" fan control you need to have four pins. This seriously is a motherboard/BIOS problem, not a A70 problem.

Sturdy cooler design, backplate mounting is very secure.Anything was packaged in Styrofoam (Retail box).Push/Pull style for maximum airflow.Excellent cooling - Intel Core i7 875k ambient @ 25C, idle at 32C, load at 58C Fans aren't especially loud, but make a humming noise. This is beginning to annoy me soon after just 1 week.Initially, with both fans spinning at RPM, the humming frequencies would make even much more annoying interference patterns as the fans would run slightly slower or more quickly than every single other. Think about listening to a person tune a guitar and in no way fairly receiving it appropriate. I'm prepared to replace the fans, but I may well just get an whole new cooler.Use a lot of thermal interface material due to the truth that the heatpipes are generating direct get in touch with with the processor. Essentially, fill in the gaps in in between the pipes with TIM. From what I've read about cooler design, this is not a very thermally effective answer. Was surprised to find my Intel Core i7 875k (ordered from Newegg) didn't come with a heatsink/fan, so I hoofed it up to a nearby shop and found this cooler to be the Best solution obtainable. It permitted me to get up and running without waiting for an item to ship, but I'll probably be replacing this with another cooler anytime I get the possibility.

Effortless install. Compared to the Xigmatek fan on my other program it was dead uncomplicated to install. Insert the bracket through the board, slap on some washers, tighten it down, clip the fans on, Done. Does it cool even though? Oh yeah. In my Antec 1200 situation I am receiving 34c temps idle and 59c load in prime 95 running an I7 950 o'cd to 3500 ghz. Although gaming temps in the mid 40's. Impressive item. I utilized OCZ freeze thermal compound. Fans move a ton of air, and appropriate out the back of the case. Bracket is kinda thin but appears pretty sturdy when you tighten it down. Located a couple tips on-line for applying your TIM on this cooler. Very first fill in the crevices amongst the heat pipes and the base, smooth out excess with a credit card, then apply a incredibly thin line to each and every heatpipe, and install. Seems to have worked really properly.

I didn't know what to count on but this point exceeded my expectations. I don't believe i'm going to oc any longer than i have but with this point i'm sure i could effortlessly. Massive, but not a problem in my cooler master 840. Don't purchase if your situation is thin, also be carefull where you ram is positioned may block 1 of the slots. directions not genuinely excellent but it was straightforward sufficient for me to figure out and install with an i7 and evga motherboard. don't know about amd sockets, i know it's a little various....may be harder? Less costly than the ideal and it shows in additional approaches than 1.But the fans are nice and fairly helpful on far better coolers. Disappointing overall performance and general high quality.Base plate speak to location desires a lot of improvement. I purchased this mainly because I required anything to cool an i7 clocking four.2 Ghz. Thermalright's VenomousX is nearly specifically the exact same size, looks extremely comparable, and does it with ease. This one misses the mark by 7C.

Good Quality, utilizes existing bracket on AM3 socket, didn't will need to take the motherboard out to install. A tiny tight in my Antec 3 Hundred Case. Also due to size I will have to eliminate the heatsink to place more RAM in. For the price like the rebate, you seriously can't go wrong here. The Push-Pull style and heatpipes retain my Phenom II x2 three.2Ghz with 4 cores unlocked and O.C. to three.7Ghz about 43C with Prime 95 operating. Just before with the stock cooling it hit about 66C ahead of I shut down prime 95. For AM3 fans, you won't be disappointed!!!
