Big & HEAVY. I will be using this only on torture racks where it will stand vertically. I wanted the weight as I will not be screwing it in with the mounting system. It will be applied only for downloading and tuning among LN2 runs.Applied to use an old 775 Noctua NH-U12P w/o the fan and it worked fine with the CPU at stock clocks but I dropped it on the floor and it got bent out of shape - this large poor boy ought to be even far better, so, all for the finest :) Major & HEAVYEveryone that would mount this issue horizontally in a tower is nuts - just my 2 cents, could be incorrect :P Why do folks continue to OC on air? It keeps my Core i7 950 OC'ed to four.1GHz at 30C on idle and 35C on gaming load. Can get noisy if you don't let your MoBo dynamically adjust the fan speed. CoolerMaster HAF922EVGA X58 SLI3Core i7 950GIGABYTE Super OC GTX470Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GBG.Ability 1600 6GBXFX 650W

Yesterday I left a comment with days ownership, now I've just received it. If I could have gotten overnight shipping for Ŭ I'd have purchased it here :PAnyway, it's huge, but not as large as I'd believed from reading. Physically its about the exact same size as my old 775 Noctua but the copper 8mm heat pipes put the Noctua's 6mm nickle plated ones to shame. The direct touch is a good touch - no pun intended. A Significant PLUS IMO, is this negative boy comes with 2 PWM fans, superior, Every FAN HAS A SHROUD. Shrouds enable negate the dead spot in the middle of the fan and creates much more effective cooling. Strange Corsair doesn't advertise that fact? With each fans , you're gonna require a massive case, but, as I stated yesterday, I wouldn't place these in a tower case and have all that weight trying to warp my mobo :(Mounting brackets are kinda chinsy but must function okay. Gonna have to drill out the Intel prime bracket so I can fit it onto my Kingpin cooling F1EE mounting posts, but that shouldn't be a difficulty I don't see any practical use for an HSF this size if you're searching to overclock a gaming rig. For a handful of dollars much more you could obtain the Corsair H50 and get just as excellent or greater cooling with no the dramatic space problems this factor creates

Dropped temps downs five-7C @ idle, ten-15C @ 50% load. Haven't pushed harder than that however, and I prefer not to benchmark. Louder than stock fan, but I expected that. Directions weak, but must be fine for any individual with encounter changing out CPU. As with anything I've gotten by Corsair, a well made product. If you concider this cooler, then you had much better make certain you have space, in all directions. Could be difficulty fitting in a narrow tower (fine in my Corsair 600T). Suggested, unless you are hunting for an ultra-quiet develop.

Amazing cooling. I'm idling at 30c, max load is 47c on AMD 965BE and my wife's AMD BE 5000+. Combined with Tuniq's TX4 on mine and Gelid's Extreme on my wife's Pc. With AMD CPUs the mounting is vertical rather of horizontal. Know this going in. If you're dead set on this cooler (who wouldn't be?) then appear into the HAF 912 from Cooler master. A number of exhausts. Good, acquire it now!

This is a great air cooler when on sale (29.99). Keeps the stock AMD 955 at 24/44C idle/load. Easy to install, but the size can make it a little awkward.

Bought for $29.99. Good temps for OC. There are 4 direct touch heat pipes so TIM has to be applied different method to get max performance but still doable with out any major issue. A50 Usually better option though and DO NOT BUY at $64.99.

This cooler was my second choose for a pc i was developing for a friend with a i7 950 which he wanted pushed to 4 Ghz in the future. The included thermal paste is excellent! I was practically going to have him devote extra for MX2 but his budget didn't allow him to get the V6 GT so he got this and properly not a lot of a loss as for a lot more than ฤ less prior to rebate he gets 4 degrees C additional. Not negative since my i7 930 utilizing the V6GT and mx2 idles at 29 C though the i7 950 with the included thermal paste was at 33 C. This as opposed to the V6GT absolutely blocks the 1st dimm for ram on the ASUS Rampage three Formula although the V6 GT doesn't totally block the initial dimm of ram for the GA-X58A-UD3R. The G Ability ripjaws were a incredibly challenging fit and just made it and at initial didn't register untill the ram was pushed down further. You can't argue about the performance vs value ratio throw in some mx2 and you could beat a V6 GT!

Its not an egg If this factor was an egg it would be cooked! This is a peice of junk. I use thermalright 120 extreme and get temps overclocked at 4.two on any i7 processor in the low 40c high 30c. This issue is high 40c low 50c and the worst element is thats just overclocked to 3.33ghz from two.66!!! And I installed it 15 times different methods. I can\'t believe all these firms think direct heatpipe is great. ITS A GIMMICK!! Direct heatpipe would only work if all heatpipes came down to a base which is hollow and flatened like one particular massive heatpipe. That would operate. But genuinely the two pipes on the sides are not touching the die straight under the IHS. Implies their off to the side which suggests direct heat misses the two finish pipes!!. JUNK! Get it suitable! I wish I was in R&D for these businesses because I know I could do greater!! I uncover it ridiculous that a properly identified firm comes out with a product just to jump into a market place with marginal overall performance. Hey, If your going to come into a marketplace and charge what they tried to charge when it first came out I would consider you would come in with one thing that really is Greater then those that came just before you. If you cant do better then keep out!

It is a OK product for the sale price. The stock fan is way to loud even with the resister. No instruction to put the 4 rubber washer.End up replace the stock fan with silent type fans mean the total cost is higher. Not temp different between stock and low rpm fan ( testing using prime95 ).

On an i5 2500k i4.5ghz I'm getting 33 at idle and 54 with the Intel Burn Test...excellent cooler.P.S. This thing is a pain to install if you have chunky man hands and a compact case, it also covers my first DIMM slot. Not a big deal as I only need two dimms but could be a headache down the road.

Duel fans, keeps incredibly cool, genuine fairly, low cost if you dont mind to wait for rebate. It is genuine bulky. Was unsure if it would fit my case at initial but just fits. One of the fans hovers over one of my mem slots but doesn't block it with mem inserted. This is my pc specs:intel i5 760 2.8ghz processor4GB 1600 Ram700W power supply (corsair)ASUS P7P55D-E LX LGA 1156 MotherboardMid-ATX towerStock CPU fan kept technique at 55C idle and 80C max which is unacceptable. + It's reserved, doesn't have massive neon lights attached (I have sufficient in my case thank you quite a lot :)+ I am fairly positive it is obtaining the job accomplished.+ Installation was fairly straightforward (my initial time ever installing an aftermarket cooler) - Instructions were practically nothing - 5 pages with a single sentence on every single page. That simplifies it in a way but I would have liked more information. Just got this from Finest Get for a couple dollars much less than what NewEgg has but with the taxes it was really the identical value, anyway... I am finding idle temps of 34c and 35c on my E6600, I consider that is good. My CPU is also slightly overclocked from two.four to two.7. I am such a genius as I forgot to test the temps with my old Intel heat sink installed so I don't have a reference point. I do think although, that these temps are actually pretty low for my CPU, a lot lower than what I had just before. I can really feel it, it is not 90 degrees in my space anymore :)

Cons:Quite bulkyLoud (Haven't tried resistors yet)Likely to run in to space issues if you have ram with tall heat spreaders.

Pros:Good cooling for a great price. (Bought on sale for $30)
Comment:
Bought because of the great sale price, and a need to upgrade to something better than the stock Intel heat sink.Did manage to make the ram fit, but it is being pushed over a bit by one of the fans. Is sitting in the slot at a bit of an angle. Asus p8z68 V-Pro w/ Corsair Vengeance ram. Will probably wind up buying the low profile version of the ram just for piece of mind. (Well played Corsair... Well played.)Happy with the cooler, happy with the ram, but a bit disappointed with the unfortunate spacing issue over the primary DIMM slot.

This operates really nicely with 1 fan and is not really loud that way. This lowers temps from stock by more than half! Also, for the duration of gaming stays just over ambient, 115 is the highest I have seen it with ambient getting 76. It is usually hot where I live. That this doesnt cool my house!!

Huge improvement over stock Intel cooler on my i7 860. Idles at 22C, 41C running Prime 95. Comparable temps to my V6 GT but not rather as tall, I switched my 860 setup to a smaller case (Rosewill Challenger) and I don't believe the V6GT would clear. Big size, but comparable to most decent CPU coolers. Tall memory heatsinks will not fit, one more frequent issue with massive coolers. Low profile Ram heatsinks like G-Skill Ripjaw will fit just fine. This cooler extends over the initial two RAM slots on my P55M-UD2 board. The fans are three pin, I personally choose PWM fans for a CPU cooler so I program to upgrade later. Directions had been not the ideal, but I've noticed worse. If you're very good with hardware installation it won't be an problem. You will need rear access to your motherboard, I don't know why persons rate coolers down mainly because of this. Heavy coolers on Intel sockets need to have the extra support of a backplate and rear hardware. Mycase has a cutout which produced install faster. (The AMD retainer bar does not require rear access) I mounted it up with Arctic Silver 5 paste due to the fact I wanted to compare it accurately to my V6 GT. After installing the cooler my Pc would boot, run three seconds then reset in an endless loop. To make a extended story short the three Torx screws that retain the factory 1156 retention mechanism to my motherboard had been not tight, so you should check those just before you mount up the cooler. Getting an additional long screwdriver handy is a plus for the installation if area is tight. The four integrated fiber washers that are by no means mentioned in the directions go on the Intel backplate posts, in between the backplate and the motherboard. An extra hand will be nice for an Intel install, as the backplate doesn't hold itself in and you have to juggle the plate, the cooler and the retention nuts though trying not to make a mess out of your thermal paste. I ultimately laid the case down on its side and utilised a wadded up washcloth under it to hold the backplate up for me.

Looks like a good cooler... None To the reviewer that states that this cooler is in a position to cool Below the room temperature... It is a matter of physics... it is NOT possible to cool below ambient (room) temperature on air or a water cooling setup for that matter. Goes to show, do not think what u read here, accept of course what I am posting...
