They blow air. I bought a triple pair 6gb set that came with this fan. It created so much noise I could not believe it! So, I sent them back as defective. Corsair sent me a fan in a new 'box' that produced just as significantly dam noise as the initial ones! They really screech like they are being torchured for the initial two-three minutes of booting up. Then they quiet down to a rumbling howl for the rest of they day. They are the noisiest factors actually in my entire property. I can not believe it took me this lengthy to decided to acquire some other fan to replace them and post this. These suck to high heaven!

Worked for 2 weeks or so, then created horrible sounds...at some point died completely right after 1-2 years. Looks fairly...no workies. Similar concern as quite a few folks; fans get very noisy, then die fully only 1-2 years into ownership. Will NOT obtain once again. Cleaned computers and fans out every single 90 days with canned air (yes, computer system off and unplugged) and by no means tried to service the fans by oiling bearings, so no voided warranty stuff. Quite frustrating. I was a fan of Corsair. I have 2 of their PSUs, one particular supplying my gaming rig, and the other supplying my server. I built my game rig in 07 and server in 08, and when obtaining memory, I got the Corsair Dominator sets that came with these cooling fans. I was having difficulties with the gaming rig memory fans but figured I had just gotten a negative fan. Wrong. I am now shopping for new cooling solutions for both of these machines, and will feel twice about obtaining Corsair once again as there are a LOT of people with the exact same problem as me, and their warranty is "pay ฤ in shipping and we will replace it" which is ridiculous. I had these complications in batches from 2007 and 2008, and it appears it is still a major issue now in 2010. Fans need to last considerably, a great deal longer than 1-2 years, and must not be producing weird noises less than a month after install. I spec'd a machine for my dad last in 2009 with this memory cooler, and guess what....he is having the same concerns I had already. three strikes.

It fits nice and snug across all 4 sticks of ram, easy to install and looks cool. It slides about a small bit when attempting to get it on. I had to bend the sides inward to make it a tight grip but its all excellent now. If your not working with all four slots, why would you require fans?

They RATTLE~!! They make NOISE~!!! The worthless pieces of filth are rackety noisy garbage. After a few weeks, the bearings fail and the buzzing from the trash bearings are like getting a hair dryer in you box up and it doesn't stop. They are utterly worthless insults to the consumer. it is Corasir telling you that no matter what you want n matter what you think that this is the filth you are receiving - simply because they know far better.Just like the president. Run, don't walk to the competition. You know the ones who are not playing silly buggers with your money trying to cool their lousy memory chips - the ones who sussed out how to make memory properly so it doesn't overheat?? Yah run over there. Buy the other guys chips

The chassis is well built and solid. Decent paint job and doesn't take up any more space than the memory, at least on the board. Does nicely on memory cooling, while i have sticks with heat sinks built on from factory. A few things.Like others, my fans are less than reliable. Out of box installed only one worked on power on. The other people had to be manually spun to get them to kick on. So far i've had 1 of the defective fans start out moving on its own and ultimately the the last 1 will start. Also it sticks up off the memory fairly high. If you have a extremely tight fit with video card or cpu heat sink, youll have some trouble. The clamps do fit loosely but they have however to fall. I wouldn't advise jarring your technique with this thing on it or for that matter ever :)

Keeps my Corsair Dominator ram cool, seem to do the job nicely. Unable to turn them up past 80% in the bios without having the bearings screaming in discomfort. They also do this on boot up from time to time. Also, they don't stay seated too properly over the ram slots, as others have mentioned. They haven't fallen off however, but don't remain positioned more than my tri-channel sticks. I would have rather gone with a generic or less costly substitute. Nonetheless, the product does function, look good, and match my RAM. Specs:Silverstone Raven caseEVGA X58 Tri-SLII7 920Coolermaster V8Corsair 1000W PSUCorsair Dominator DDR3 1600WD 1TB Black

- Cools well (when it runs correct)- Fits Gigabyte EP45-UD3P, but sits fairly close to GFX card- 3Pin connector plugs suitable into M/B and gives RPM stats (for CENTER fan ONLY!) Bad bearings: When the fans spin up they at times finish up vibrating like crazy. This takes place about 50% of the time with the middle fan and 20% of the time with the bottom fan. The best fan runs fine (for now). When all three manage to spin up fine, they keep running quietly for the whole day, but it's annoying that I have to stop the fans about 3-5 times just about every morning until they discover their sweet spot.Smooth Clips: Clips could use a modest rubber pad (can easily be added) or some grooves to truly avoid slip. They function OK, but I am not 100% comfy with them.Metal Case: The metal case looks good and feels difficult, but if it does touch the GFX card, and so on., it may well short it out. Plastic may possibly be a greater choice. (Caveat: The case is painted/anodized and I have not tested that it is in fact electrically conductive, but if the paint scratches it most likely is) It created a Massive distinction in my memory temperature, so I surely advise a product like this for a performance system.I was thinking about just swapping out the fans to fix the unit but the option with 40mm's is somewhat limited and a set of three good ones would expense me much more than this unit did to begin with. I'll almost certainly return it instead and get the 2-fan 60mm version (CMXAF2) and swap out the fans on that if I want to.

NoneI spent the past 20 minutes reading each and every evaluation and identified that I created a major mistake with my first Corsair purchase. four Eggs for a item that has had close to 50% failure with poor customer service?Additional like four rotten eggs I have built custom PC's for more than 15 years. I have zero tolerance for poor consumer relations. Paying to have and item returned? I don't care if it is Ũ.50. I have never had to pay for postage for anything!!. Anytime I have sent a product in for RMA, they sent the item with a postage return label and use the very same package to return the item. Corsair now is listed under my 10 Foot Pole list. By no means, In no way will I deal with this type of organization model. My failed three months in use.Corsair desires me to pay for shipping and wait , Based on the review I have read, over a week soon after they get it. I have spent a week dealing with Corsair, this model does not show up in drop dawn menu for RMA requests. # days shipping and according to most it could be a week prior to receiving tells shipping to send my new fan.

Keeps the ram nice and cool for any overclock over 1600.Quiet, but only right after I log into my desktop. When I initially turn on my computer for some cause, although it goes by way of the BIOS the sound of the fan is like a buzzsaw ripping your laptop or computer apart. But it all goes away as soon as I log into the desktop. Besides this small con, it was worth the funds

The actual mechanism for clipping it to your RAM appears to work far better than other memory coolers I bought from newegg. Loud. 1 fan rattles, the other makes a high pitched whine. So distracting that I had to eliminate it. This was the loudest thing in my computer. Louder than my two tough drives, case fans, cpu fans and video card fans combined.

Very straightforward to install. Fit next to the V8 CPU Cooler with no concerns. Not loud, at least not over the stock fans of a HAF 932 case. Doesn't really cover all 6 sticks of ram on the other hand the outside 2 sticks get additional air natually so obtaining additional air to the center stick is crutial. Cools fairly excellent. I've got my i7 950@ three.9 gig and memory򜨺 which runs fairly hot and at times unstable. This fan(x2) brought temps down 10c which is far better than expected. The thumb screws when tightened totally nonetheless allow housing to slide which with my desktop being vertical could trigger a problem in the future. Overall a great item but Corsair need to modify the hold down brackets!

three fans for cooling. The vibration is so high that the laptop or computer case sides vibrate as well. My fans ƒ sets) are past the 30 return window and can't return them. If a video card is in the slots next to the CPU, there will not be enough room to install this cooling fan more than the memory cards. Manufacturer Response:We will RMA the fan if it is noisy, see the RMA link below. Also, there is room on most boards to install the fan even with close clarance. But, a bit of insulation on the RAM bracket is a good concept. Most of the time, you need to have to install the fan, then the GPU and it works just fine. We have not found a MOBO yet that will not accept this fan.External Link(s): Corsair RMA Link|

- - If you have a shuttle barebone you'll know the difficult drive cage would cover this, I know this sounds crazy but soak the small fin items that wrap about the memory in water for about 1 hour and then cut it in half with an exacto knife, get some of that thermal tape and make certain its non-conductive, dab some on your MB and sit this on leading.

looks nice Fans are what others say...affordable!I fear that when they stop working like other have stated, my airflow will be hindered and my memory will overheat.Like fans sell for ũ.50 each and every, that's Ŭ.50 my price. I wonder how significantly they expense Corsair to put in these affordable fans If you complain real difficult for over a week, they will send a postage paid RMA. Other than that, I would not waste the postage to get a replacement. Just get ball bearing or much better type fans and rebuild myself.

It works on my mushkin ram! I wouldnt go about bragging about it...it could fall off very easily, but it fits! A small rubber band would hold it onto any ram with slots close to the securing clips at the finish of the DIMM slots. I purchased this for my Corsair XMS2 ram (the fan fit far better on them)...overclocked them and they fried, so I had to uncover some replacement ram. THE FAN Actually FITS!!! If you do this, be cautious, dont hold me liable for not securing yours effectively. Really quiet...and if it starts to make noise, I got oil. Its tall. It sits a superior 2 inches above the ram modules, and its about two inches thick, so its about a palms width from dimm slot to top of the fan. You can use this for determining if it will fit in your case or not. You HAVE to make sure you have adequate air flow in the case, or else your just going to blow hot air on your modules. My setup: Intel Q6600 on an MSI P7N Platinum, 1200w Coolmax PSU, Thermaltake Kandalf LCS w/ 28cm case fan upgrade, dual 9600GT's in SLi, lots of case fans on leading of liquid cooling.

Nice size, fit beside my AC Freezer 7 Pro, well conceived mounting method, looks pretty cool. Inexpensive, low quality fans. Ran excellent for a number of months, after a year they sound comparable to a handful of plastic spoons and a few gerbils thrown into a blender. I hope Corsair saved a ton of funds obtaining these inexpensive fans and not paying for RMA shipping, due to the fact it is costing them their reputation. I was taking into consideration obtaining a couple of their power supplies, but am now afraid of the same "great top quality". This will be the last product of theirs I get.

They do cool. We got, well had, them in 4 Cases. Each and every and every person started to make noises following a short though. Although touching one of the fans will make it quit, it will just reappear pretty considerably over night. I don't even know why I will need a RAM cooler, in no way ever had any problems, just thought I'd put them on for the sakes of it. But due to it being too loud (if they do make that sound), I removed them out of each and every case.
