this thing is a monster!
Comment:
it's huge, has a low noise level and its cheap...ive had this installed for a month now. was running around 50deg C with my old HS. now i run 25 at idle and havent seen it go above 35 in the most intense cases. great deal for a great product. just be sure to take measurements before you order, its that big...

good cooler
Comment:
Installing this cooler is abreeze for an amd. For an intel 775 , it gets a little tricky with the push pins and placement of brackets. I use this cooler in both my systems and love them equally.

Poor Quality with Horrible Instructions
Comment:
Don't waste your money. First, the printed instructions are incredibly vague. They are are in tiny print with small graphics. This means that if you don't have 20-20 vision or a magnifying glass, you'll never see that each chipset requires you to place the tiny screws in a different orientation. Second, the assembly doesn't use screw. Instead, they use cheap plastic pins that easily break. Buying this product was nothing but a waste of time and money.

Great Concept - Poor Quality
Comment:
If this was made better, it would be a very nice fan. Unfortunately, the plastic pins break very easily, and I am currently forced to use my OEM cooler.

Awesome product for the money
Comment:
This CPU cooler really does its job and looks great doing it for the price. The direct heat pipe feature works well and is much cheaper compared to other similar products. The only thing that could be fixed is the spacing where the different materials in the base meet, though it is probably hard to make more precise. I found that what worked best for thermal paste application is 3 thin lines on each heatpipe, then just press the cooler onto the CPU. If you are trying to get better performance out of this, I would recommend installing a better fan because you can barely feel this one blowing. No overheating issues yet so it shouldn't be a problem. Also, use the clamp style rather than the push in plugs.

Awesome cooler!

Keeps my AMD Phenom Quad Core ice cold. I've never seen it get hotter then 125f (52c) with this cooler, even under the heaviest loads.

Fantastic Product
Comment:
I'm usually a thermaltake guy, but this product may have changed my stance. Bought this cooler and slapped in my new build on top of a Core i5 at 3.2ghz, and have been exceptionally pleased with it's cooling ability. My CPU sits at around 29 C at idle, and never rises above 36 C in heavy use. Assembly only takes a few minutes, and was a kind of a pain for me and my bear claw hands to insert the tiny screws, but aside from that minor complaint, I'm quite happy with my purchase. Highly reccommend.

Excellent Product, Better Price
Comment:
I bought this for my Athlon II X2 250. It does a great job keeping it cool. I run about 34-36 degrees Celsius idle and 40-44 degrees Celsius on full load, even for upward of 2 hours stability testing, and that's all with my 3.0 GHz processor overclocked to 3.8 GHz. Definitely worth buying, especially at such a low cost!

Great Cooler with Excellent Value
Comment:
I just put this on my new build and it performs very well.. It is being controlled by an AeroCool 1000. Its nice and silent under 2000 rpm, above that is noticeably louder, but all in all it never goes over 36C even while gaming Idle is 24C. Recommended for the budget builder :D

fair product
Comment:
Fan is solid, does as it should. test system with AMD supplied fan first, though. I bought 955, and was shocked to see the cpu fan that comes with the processor has 4 pipes, and an all copper bottom. had i known that, i never would have bought this.

Would be easy to install-- if it fit right
Comment:
Well, this fan has gotten great reviews for its performance. Unfortunately, the mounting brackets for my AM3 processor were so cheap and flimsy that, even after some bending, the whole apparatus literally FELL OFF when I turned the board upright to slide into the tower. Putting the thing together took a while because the directions were almost worthless, though, to be fair, this is not the most complicated of procedures. For a company that made the awesome CM Stacker 830 full tower case, now in its third year in my service, I would expect a little more attention to such important details.

It may or may not be a good fan but i don't own a case that it could actually fit in. Check the dimensions before purchasing.

Great Cooler for the Price
Comment:
I bought this to replace the stock cooler that came with my Athlon II x4 620 quad core processor. At idle my temps hover around 24C and 34C load (1GHz OC). Personally, I can say that those are some respectable temperatures. 24C is around 70F which is a comfortable temperature to be in. Great cooler, Highly Recommended!

Inexpensive
Comment:
Seems to do a good job of keeping the processor cool but my motherboard has only 3 contacts and not 4 so fan is relatively noisy since speed control is not available. This is also a relatively tall heat sink and requires sufficient clearance in the case. Would buy again given price vs. value range.

Worst Fan I've Ever Used
Comment:
This fan didn't fit on properly with its included fittings and I had to do a little modification to get it to fit. It's big a bulky and requires attachment of the fan to the heatsink, which is unnecessary with most higher end fans. The instructions were terrible as well. Definitely wouldn't buy anything similar. Tigerdirect's shipping was very prompt though.

Great product
Comment:
Overall, very happy with the cooler. I noticed at least a 10 to 15 degree drop in temp after replacing my stock cooler for my Q6600. My only gripe is the application of thermal grease. On a typical cooler the bottom of the cooler is smooth copper or aluminum and when you apply the grease you only need to apply a small bead and let pressure spread it out. On this cooler the bottom is not smooth (the heat pipes create ridges) and you have to apply the grease and rub it around to cover the CPU. I did not like this method as it was hard to determine how much grease to use and left me wondering if I used enough or too little. The instructions were not very helpful either. Other than that, it works as advertised, just wish I knew I could get better results using more or less grease.
