Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Not as fast as other drives

Pros:Good PriceReliabilitySpeedSize
Comment:
I bought this to replace my OCZ Agility 1st Gen drive. My previous OCZ SSD was starting to get read errors, so it was time for it to go (2nd RMA).After having a bad experience with OCZ I did my research online. All reviews point to Intel and Crucial for reliability and that's what I was looking for. So I purchased my third SSD, all from different manufacturers.I already have an Intel SSD in my laptop, so I decided to take a chance and try this Crucial drive. The Crucial SSD size of 128 GB provides enough space for a main drive. 64 was never quite enough. The speed is good but not great, however while OCZ is concentrating on having the fastest drives, Crucial and Intel have good reliability. For this kind of price one can not go wrong. Also get ready for the SSD price war coming soon.

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:None so far

Pros:FAST!Quite cheapSpacer can be removed (at the expense of voiding the warranty) in order to fit smaller 7mm bays.
Comment:
Works very fine in my ThinkPad X220 after I have done the spacer hack to make it fit in the 7mm bay. It is a very interesting alternative to the Intel X25 SSDs if you want to fit in a 7mm bay as it is faster and cheaper.

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:none so far

Pros:FastReliableActual Firmware updates
Comment:
I purchased one of these drives to boost the performance of my main system as after 2 1/2 years it was starting to feel sluggish and the OS drive needed reinstalling.Setup was a breeze and it was recognized immediately. My drive came with firmware version 0009 pre-installed, and I have since updated it to 0309 using the windows method and subsequently 000F using the ISO method (which seemed easier).Since I am only running on SATA2, I can't get the full potential of this drive, but even without SATA3, this drive makes my system fly! Within 20 seconds of seeing the "Starting Windows" screen, my system is on the desktop and responding. I have loaded windows 7 64-bit ultimate along with numerous apps and two games and I still have about 70GB free!

I had a bit of issues when I installed this, where my whole system would lock up. (Asus P8P67 Pro)after researching, came down the drivers that Asus was providing were causing conflicts, Updating them directly off Intel, fixed everythign and since them nothing but smooth sailing. My system boots up incredibly fast, is so smooth, I highly recommend this drive to people who don't want a budget SSD, but don't want to fork out the money for the absolute best SSD either.

Real solid drive so far. It was a pain in the ass trying to update  the firmware on the drive. After that, it has not caused any hiccups at all.

I'm using this drive after my hdd died, and I can't be happier with my purchase. This is my first ever SSD, and the difference between a mechanical drive is noticeable. I'm using this drive on a SATA2 connection, so I won't reach the max potential of this drive, but it's still really fast compared to the old mechanical drive I'm using.

The firmware update  was really easy to apply. Crucial done good job with this SSD. Hope it waill run for long time.

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Paid $190 for it, requirement for bios update  2 days after purchase scared me too.

Pros:Solid state boot drive!!!
Comment:
This unit added a nice touch to my system as I can now boot up in under 30 seconds. Using as a boot drive, I only put programs I am not likely to alter  in the future on this drive as a solid state drive has limits to the number of writes. Reads can go on and on. I wish it was larger than 128 GB as this is about as small of a boot drive as I would be interested in. To change now would be a mess since the OS would need to be reinstalled and may not be recognized as the same system by MS - buy a new OS if I change the boot drive????

Cons:Only 128 GB.

Pros:Cheap, fast, fast, fast.
Comment:
Replaced a 7200 RPM HDD in my i7 laptop. Uses SATA III and is very very fast. Installing Win7 was done in no time. It came with the latest 0309 firmware so no flashing required. It's silent (even compared to a laptop HDD).I couldn't ask for anything else of this drive, except for the 256 GB model to be cheaper.Game load times have virtually disappeared which is a bonus!

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:- Not as fast as some other SSDs

Pros:- Fast- Reliable
Comment:
I purchased two of these and have them running in RAID1. While they don't have as fast read/write (300-400 read) as some of the other available SSDs, running in RAID I get read speeds of well over 500mb/s. The best thing about them though is the reliability. Over 9 months of nonstop operation, I have had not a single problem. Having used some other SSDs, this is a welcome change. I would definitely purchase a Crucial M4 again.

Cons:-No temp in SMART, but it feels cooler then my older Kingston one.-Does not seem to have any over provisioning.-SF is faster with the right work loads

Pros:+Fast+Silent and cool+Stable
Comment:
Picked this up to replace my Kingston I was using for SRT. Was going to use a 128GB to ensure constant performance(half a drive free, so always extra blocks ready), but the Kingston was not having any issues with RST I just started to fill this one with games :)This one feels like it may run cooler and is quite a bit faster. I know they have faster Sandforce based drives on the market, but this seems to have a good track record so I went this path.May pick up some more in the future for other systems as boot drives.

Dropped it into my system and everything is running much faster than it did on my old 64GB kingston V100. Impressed with performance but not as fast as toggle flash SSD's but you take that tradeoff by getting a ultra reliable SSD. No issues so far, came with newest firmware already flashed.

Cons:Slightly more power hungry than some like the Samsung 830, but sadly this isn't available at NCIX

Pros:Quick, not too power hungry. Good for a laptop
Comment:
When i picked this up from NCIX it had a sticker on it saying that the 0309 firmware revision had been applied. This update  fixed many of the early issues this drive had in 2011 and is good to see models shipping today come pre-installed with it.Works great in the main bay of my 2011 macbook pro partitioned 50/50 for use with windows and osx.

Comment:
been searching around to find the best SSD for a good price, and here it is, Crucial M4!!! at first i was about to get a Vertex3 120GB, but after reading alot of forum, found the Crucial M4 would be much better in real world senario. In benchmark, vertex3 might be getting 550/500 comepare to crucial's 500/200. Guess what, in real world situation, most files are small size data. M4 is way faster than vertex3 in term of reading speed, which overall would make the M4 much faster in real world situation. And if anyone were to get a 120GB or smaller SSD, writing does not matter at all since its just for OS, a couple apps and games. So in conclusion, get this SSD if you dont plan on writing a lot of data on the ssd very often, that would shorten the ssd's lifespan anyways.

Pros:Fast, not a Sandforce drive

I was too nervous about Sandforce drives and didn't want to pay a premium price for an Intel SSD. The Crucial M4 uses the same Marvell controller as the Intel 510 and is a great compromise.

I have gone through a couple vertex 30G drives and one v200 kingston 128G - had one vertex die wihin a week of owning it, while the kingston write speeds were subpar (as in 30MBs supbar)Reading around I think Crucial and Intel are currently the only way to go for SSD, unless of course you get lucky with a Sandforce and all works well for you

Need an SSD for a boot drive? Don't even think about purchasing anything else as you've found exactly what you're looking for. This drive is fast, and by fast I mean install Windows 7 from USB in minutes, boot in seconds, open applications in milliseconds. Tired of load times during your favorite game? Install it on the M4 and it'll load so fast you won't finish reading the cute quips on the loading screen before it's done.

Just as it was shipped, I received an email from NCIX telling me that the manufacturer was strongly recommending that the drive be update d for the latest firmware - 0309, as the previous one (0009) will show problems after 5184 hours of usage. I already knew about this, but it was a nice touch getting this email from NCIX.The firmware update  took about about 1 minute (I burned a CD on another PC for this). At the end of it, I had a message saying the new firmware number. After that, install was a cinch. I have a new HTPC that now takes 16 seconds from completely cold to fully operational in Windows 7. :-)No CONs whatsoever on this product so far. Perfect.

Cons:you'll never go back to an old school drive

Pros:works great
Comment:
This is my first SSD drive. I bought it after a few hours of research and looking at benchmarks compared to the other SSDs on here. As always, be sure to get the latest firmware for this drive once you get it. Load times for games are amazing, I don't even have time to read the short sentences that games put on their loading screens like in Skyrim, as the next area is already loaded. You'll never go back to a platter drive after using an SSD.

Pros:Speed is great as is reliability (outside the 5200 hour bug)Decent price for 128GBEasy to install

The Crucial M4 is a great ssd that I had done a lot of research on before purchasing. A day after submitting my order I had found out about the 5200 hour bug and got a bit worried. Crucial is on the ball though and already has a new firmware to solve this problem. I am really happy with the fact Crucial seems to be very attentive to it's customer base and did not drag their feet on getting a fix in the works. I highly recommend this ssd.

Bought 2 of these on sale for $180 each and put in a raid 0. I get 950mb/s read and 450mb/s write. Though it is still slower than my Vertex 3 in raid 0 but I bought this for reliability. I had lots of BSOD problems with my Vertex but not with the Crucial M4. So far it is rock solid stable.
