Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Sometimes BSOD with unknown reason.

Pros:Speed increased with the last firmware 009.Acceptable stability.Price.
Comment:
Almost as fast as the models with Sandforce controller but more stable. Stability is improved but there is still some work to do. An overclocked CPU increases the risk of BSOD. Tested with Gigabyte MB P67A-UD5-B3 Intel i7 CPU and 2600K (Intel and Microsoft AHCI driver). This review was modfied by poster @ 09-21-11 02:53 PM

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:-Still a tad too pricey

Pros:-Fast!-Reliable-Fairly decent GB/$ ratio (for SSDs atleast).-Quiet..
Comment:
Pm'd for $175, making it quite a decent deal. I wanted to purchase the Sandforce SSDs, but unfortunately their reliability is in question - something I couldn't afford considering i'm gonna be using this as my boot drive.Running on the SATA2 Interface and the difference between this and a caviar black are still HUGE!.

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:- price

Pros:- faster than the ocz vertex 2 in sata 2 mode- fast on old laptop
Comment:
See my benchmark screenshots in the "Crucial M4 SSD New Firmware = 20% faster" thread. Bought from local ncix store. Flashed the ssd to firmware 0009 using SATA mode instead of AHCI on the laptop bios settings. Then formatted the drive. Drive has been on for only a few hours and so far so good.

I'm running this drive as a OS and from day 1 it's been nothing but great. No issues of any kind. I currently just bought an M4 256 gig to use as my games drive because this 128 has been so solid.Rig is :X58 evgai7 a 3.88ghz12 gig corsair xms3 ramax1200 PSevga gtx580 x 2Auzentech forte

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:- Have to manually upgrade the firmware... like all SSDs

Pros:- Good price- Great performance- Good reliability- Good brand
Comment:
Been looking for a while at various SSDs in order to upgrade from a RAID0 of Caviar Blues. While SandForce 2 based SSDs are faster in most benchmarks, their reliability was enough to keep me away from them. Crucial on the other hand seemed to have a good product on its hands, plus it was right behind the SF based SSDs in benchmarks. I took the jump and have no regrets at all. After the initial firmware upgrade that you have to do "DOS style", this SSD has been nothing but joy. Performance is great and I still haven't seen any mention of problems with this drive. Haven't benchmarked it so far, but just to give you an idea, Windows boots in about 10 seconds, Starcraft II installs in 1m30s and waiting is a thing of the past.Even over a decent RAID0 of mecanical drives, you still see some differences, obviously.Definitely worth buying, especially considering the competition at this time. Plus, I was able to price match it to 209$.

Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons:Lower benchmarks than other SSDs

Pros:Fast, Quiet, Efficient, Reliable
Comment:
I started off with a Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD, and had a terrible time with it because of the Sandforce issues. So, while at first it felt like a compromise to settle for the "slower" Crucial M4, I eventually came to realize that any difference in speed was imperceptible (during every day use) and having a drive that ran smoothly without any BSOD's was worth a heck of a lot more than a few extra benchmark points. This drive is fast (Win7 boots in under 20 seconds, programs load in a flash, file transfers are nearly instantaneous), runs smoothly, is pin-drop  quiet (of course), and hasn't caused me any stability issues whatsoever.I may buy a second one (perhaps in the 60GB size) for caching my HDD files, but right now I'm very happy with my M4 128GB.
