D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Comment:
Works as advertised, and speedy connection. 1GB wired connection, and just the truth that it can be used as a bridge or access point makes fantastic versatility. Had to manually change my computers IP/subnet and use IE to access the GUI for the 1st time. Connects my pc and PS3 to my network and works without having a hitch. Works with my DIR-655, but had to use the WPS setup to get it to function. Comes with 1.21 firmware.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons:Not the easiest to set up

Pros:Connects to my wireless network Gigabit switchAllows 3 computers and a media streamer to connect to wireless network
Comment:
I bought this to attach my devices to my wireless network. It was a bit of a pain at first and I had to read some forums to get it working but once it was working it's been running flawlessly ever since. I would highly recommend it to anyone that is looking for a device like this.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Comment:
four Gigabit ports would have been good Could not successfully bridge a PS3 / Linux media box to a Linksys WRT320N router1. No longer supports Firefox with 1.21 firmware2. Utilizing IE, I was able to connect to the wireless, but only pulled a whole 32Mbps in the exact same room as the router.3. When turned back on in new location, It would not reconnect. Ended up with "unidentified network" with a poor IP and no connectivity.4. returning to IE, it showed all configs right, just disconnected. Turning Mac Cloning off then on seemed to reset some thing and it would eventually reconnect. five. Rinse, repeat until frustration...A bridge that can't be powered off and moved without reconfiguring doesn't genuinely do me any superior... If I could reconfig using the Linux box I could live with it, but I'm not dragging my other desktop downstairs every single time there's a power outage... Having the Internet Setup not display properly in Firefox is truly pathetic. Even in IE, most the Wireless Config selections are grayed out.The Web Config status would indicate connected / disconnected, but no details of the connection, such as protocol / connection speed. I ended up moving a huge file via that connection and it transferred at 32Mbps on a supposed N connection with the router and bridge in the identical room, so they may possibly just not want you to know...

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons: - Poor Wireless transmission on N 2.4Ghz

Pros: - Easy to setup- Wired connection well enough- Wireless N dual Band- Streaming on 5GHz band works great
Comment:
Overall its a good product. I have a 75ft Cat 6 running from my router (DIR-825) to it and using it as an access point for wireless devices on both bands. My server is wired cat 6 and transferate rate is great. the 2.4 band is so.so.. but im sure it because of the location.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons: Had to update  firmware to get everything to run smoothly

Pros: Excellent connectivity, good range, no running wires through my walls, once set up never need to worry about it
Comment:
I've been happily using two of these bridges in my house for about a year and a half. I didn't want to run wires so I have one in the basement connecting my gaming/entertainment equipment to the network and one on the second floor in the office connecting my desktop computer and network printer. Both are bridging a signal from my DIR-825 router on the main floor.Initially I had some trouble getting everything configured properly but after updating both the router and my bridges to the most recent firmware everything went smoothly and the connection is great. I frequently stream high quality video from my office PC wired to the bridge wirelessly to the router wirelessly to the second bridge and wired to my PS3. That's a bit confusing so...PC--Bridge1~~Router~~Bridge2--PS3 (~~ = wireless N, -- = wired)

Some Setup Issues
Comment:
Couldn't get this to work, called tech support and they had me send it back as defective. Got a new one and discovered that the wireless setup screen doesn't work with Chrome. Used IE and finished the setup for bridge mode with no problems. I'm sure the first one was OK, tech support useless. I have this in my entertainment center hooked up to Directv DVR and a Squeezebox, works great.

Switch for Function is Best
Comment:
I am using as an Access Point and have the switch set to AP. When I have issue with power outages or DHCP server issues, this DAP-1522 picks back up and keeps all my wireless devices connected.

Pain to set up; works great once you do
Comment:
This was way too difficult to set up. Bought a DIR-655 router to go with this, and set-up should've been as easy as pressing a button on the side of the bridge. It wasn't. I'm still not sure how I ultimately got it set up. But now that it's set up, it works great. I use it as an access point for a Blu-ray player and an Xbox.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons:- Annoying flashing lights you can't turn off

Pros:- Wireless N Speeds- Gigabit ports- Never have to restart- Very easy to connect to primary wireless switch- No need for crappy wireless network cards in your pc
Comment:
Got it home, turned on Wifi Protected Setup in my main router. Tapped a button on the side of each device and bam, securely connected N speed wireless.Using it as a bridge to a DGL-4500 and it works beautifully. I had to update  the firmware on the dgl-4500 to alleviate a DNS issue but there has been nothing at all wrong with the access point. If you're looking to alleviate headaches with Wireless Network cards this is perfect, throw out the cards and just connect your gigabit ports straight to this. No worrying about cards not waking up after sleeping or trying to get drivers working in say 64 bit windows 7 ;).Fast and easy to setup. Highly recommended.

Easy to Set up and Reliable!
Comment:
I use this bridge to hook up my Slingcatcher to my wireless connection, and I just plugged it in, pressed the button on the side, and then pressed the same button on my router, and everything worked. I had been searching for about 2 weeks for something reliable that wouldn't use my hard wiring (I'm in a dorm)--this is exactly what I needed!

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons:cannot use on Linksys router, at least to me;

Pros:Look nice to me;
Comment:
Bought this to extend the wireless coverage for my home, but it works not very good w/ my linksys router, so I am going to refund it tomorrow. Go check "WL-330gE", it works like a champs, its cheaper and easier to use but only a G network.

Performs as expected, Meets expectations
Comment:
Great product for the price. I use it as a bridge. Gets along just fine with my Linksys router (just have to remember to change the IP address of the D-Link from 192.168.0.x to 192.168.1.x ) if you are using a Linksys router otherwise they won't talk to each other. I use it to connect my Sony Bravia and Blueray to the internet and my Linkstation Pro Media Server (in another room) to stream music, photos and videos to the Bravia. Works great, very small and unobtrusive device sits behind the TV. No issues so far.

Works great
Comment:
Right out of the box was unable to access with a laptop and cable direct to the bridge. Called support and then had me connect the unit direct to the router and access it via my desktop. About 10 minutes later the unit was up and running fine. I set it up with my BluRay for streaming video via netflix. Quality was great. No problems so far.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons:Price. You'll want to tape over the lights on the front of it because they can be blindingly bright in a home theater environment (which I assume most people are buying it for), also setup isn't as straight forward as it could have been.

Pros:Works as advertised. Compact size (no external antenna). Ports are all gigabit.
Comment:
I was able to achieve my main goal with this device without having to do any tweaking. That goal was to have flawless streaming of high def 1080p videos over my wireless network from my computer to my PS3. I was unable to do so with the PS3's built-in wireless. I also have 2 other ethernet devices in my home theater hooked up to it without problems. The other router in my network is a D-link DIR-655 by the way.

Good product, tech support bad
Comment:
The product itself works really good, was having problems with the set up so I contacted tech support. The rep seemed to be reading tips from a manual and referred me to my ISP. Instead, I searched for solutions on google and had my problem fixed in less than 5 min. Support was not helpful. I love Dlink products and would buy again.

Good experience so far
Comment:
I use it as an access point along with an older router I got with FIOS. If I did it all over again I probably would have just put up the extra money for a new router but am happy overall with the performance of the product. I had issues with the setup until I realized the default ip uses a 0 in the third octet instead of a 1 which all of my other equipment uses. Now that it is up I can see a big difference going from g to n. I would avoid the DWA-160 adapter and get the Netgear WNDA3100-100NAS adapter, especially if you have a Vista 64 box, as the later has given me a lot less headaches.

Works Great!
Comment:
I needed to bridge two networks together and the DAP1522 did the trick. I have a server that I needed to give Internet access from another network and it has worked nonstop since I put it online. I suggest sure you use a UPS if your application is critical.

Cons:2.4 or 5.8

Pros:wireless n, small, rock solid
Comment:
The wireless bridge is fast with gigabit lan. It has solid performance. However, you can choose only 2.4 or 5.8, not both. I highly recommend it.

So far so good with D-Link
Comment:
Purchased this with the D-Link DWA-140 RangeBooster N USB Adapter for my office when my Linksys access point died. Works great with my existing wired network. Much easier to set up and use than the Linksys. So far I am very pleased with my D-Link purchase.

D-Link DAP-1522 Xtreme N Duo Wireless Bridge/Access Point
Cons:None so far....

Pros:Set and forget....works great with DIR-825
Comment:
I have this hooked up to my Xbox in our living room. It allows N-wireless transmission from my Mediacenter computer in the den via the DIR-825 on the 5 GHz band. I can use the Mediacenter computer as a PVR and the Xbox as a media extender. Transmission rate is adequate for HD quality wireless transmission.....really pleased!
