Our old Belkin Router couldn't hold an Xbox 360 and a laptop at the same time or the packet loss went via the roof. So I required a router with excellent QoS, and at only 115 bucks you can't go wrong.

Wireless "N" is really good. I had a Linksys "G" that was on the fritz. The speed increase just on the wireless side is nice. I can stream Netflix with no complications. This router is a beast. I use it for gaming, P2P ,streaming media from the world wide web ,LAN gaming with difficult wire and wireless connectivity,network file transfer,Nintendo: Wii,dsi x3, also an apple i-touch as well as my laptop. Runs smooth as silk and i have been working with it for these purposes since Feb. of 2008 Heat can be somewhat of an issue. i have not applied this model yet but i had a dgl 4300 and it worked excellent. this is just a newer much more function complete version it is a nicely recognized fact that updating to two. firmware screws your router up 7-approaches to Sunday. so just dont do that.i dont know what firmware came with my router i will update on that later. hey d-link i love your item but seriously step your game up. its truly sketchy that your ignoring well know flaws in your software program. also this is not red china censorship on your forums will only make items worse

-quick wifi with full signal and excellent distance around my 3 story brick/wood home-excellent wifi channels (on auto picker)-upnp works so all gaming works -annoying having to wait for the router to do a downstream/upstream speed test everytime you reboot it (and from time to time fairly innacurate)-confusing names utilised in firmware.. instead of port forwarding its known as virtual servers-virtual servers DONT work. I've had a lot of wifi routers and this has been by far one particular of the worst in terms of firmware.. but best in terms of hardware.. fairly disappointed I cant throw dd-wrt on it.. and it looks like I'm gonna have to go buy a new router.

I'm only informing purchasers that Newegg is posting wrong details. This is not a simultaneous dual-band wireless router. It is only SELECTABLE dual-band. No piece of D-Link literature about this router essentially utilizes either of the terms simultaneous or concurrent when talking about the dual-band feature. Great!!! I've got five laptops, two desktops Ƒ gaming rig) and three xboxs running, NO LAG whatsoever! Setup was a breeze. I unplugged my old router, powered down the modem, plugged up the new router, powered on the modem, and then powered on the router- and BAM!! Soopa fas eentahnet! I use Dlink merchandise for anything, fantastic craftsmanship, simple to use and set up, it even looks superior. 赨 but well worth it. This thing is poor to the bone Dont just buy affordable hardware- INVEST in great technoogy!!!!
